"Seven Summits – 2" from Hans Kammerlander

Hans Kammerlander declared the beginning of realisation of a new program - " Seven second summits of continents». It will be his alternative to the classical program «Seven summits». The 52-year-old climber considers the classical program too banal and boring. Earlier he has refused to finish the program end «14 eightthousander », having taken offence at Manaslu on which were killed his close friends.

The second summits are more beautiful and more interesting in the climbing plan, than the firsts. Not in each case it is obvious, but as a whole – is true. Terrible and beautiful К2 enters into the list of the second summits. In 2001 Kammerlander and Jean-Christophe Lafaille maid a new route on it.

The first destination of the new program will be the higher summit of Canada and the second in the North America - Mount Logan 5.956 metres. Remote mountain, with enormous altitude difference and a disgusting climate. Кammerlander wishes to ski down from its top.

The further plan is not concretized, but Hans named summits in a following order:
- Ojos del Salado - 6.893 metres on border between Chile and Argentina (South America);
- Dykh-Tau – 5202 m in Russia (Europe);
- Mount Kenya - 5.199 metres (Africa);
- Mount Tyree - 4.852 metres (Antarctica);
- Punchak Trikora, 4.730 metres, in Indonesia (Australia).
