Boris Korshunov (born 31.08.1935) has signed a contract with Alexander Abramova (7 Summit Club). This time he will go to the summit of Everest not as an extreme sportsman, but as an usual client. An idea of high-speed and oxygen-free ascent is postponed. But the record of age can be established. The last autumn Boris has climbed Cho Oyu, starting from the camp 2, from of 7000 meters.

Russianclimb: Boris, have you summited Everest in 1999?

B.K. I don`t know!

Russianclimb: ???

B.K. At the place, which I`ve reached - may be, it was the top - I have taken some things, and have brought them downwards. These were the mini-Bible in foreign language, the small bear and a pendant. When Simone Moro in Kathmandu has looked at that bear, he has told, that knows, whose it is. And that person has told, that has left it at Everest top. The same with the Bible. The same with a pendant - Sergey Bershov from Ukraine has told, that it was left by their team members at the top. It turns out, that I have reached the top. But I do not remember it. Probably, something happens with my memory... Russianclimb: Does Ms. Hawley recognize now your Everest climb in 1999?

B.K.: When I in spring 2004 talked with Ms. Hawley, she has told, that she is satisfied quite with those materials which has presented by Simone Moro, and ready to recognize this climb if I shall bring all those things to Kathmandu, which I`ve found on the Everest, and confirm that I was at the top. By the way, here they are...

At 8500 Boris wanted to begin to use oxygen - he has one bottle with him - but it appeared that the equipment was broken. This failure has affected the subsequent events: - the route above the Second step Boris remembers very bad, memory blackouts alternate with consciousness clearings... Already on the descent, near 8400 Boris lost his backpack, glasses, radio and ice-axe. The Georgian climbers who were preparing for the summit bid, told later: " At 9 p.m. Russian climber has fallen into our tent - he was without consciousness, and in the very grave condition.
