January, 6 2006, 4:07 a.m. local time.

5th of January, in the morning the weather was rather bad. Cold and windy. Some expeditions have left their tents for summit climb at 11-12 a.m... Our expedition, all six, has left too. The strong wind blows to our faces. One by one climbers decided to return. Our group was divided in two part. Three of us decided to consider that attempt just for acclimatization and went back. But Russian part of expedition: Alexander Abramov, Boris Sedusov and Vyacheslav Pashkov -we has continued an ascent.

In result at 8:30 p.m. we stood at the top of Mount Vinson. In strong cold wind, but our equipment and our conditions have allowed us to become the first Vinson summiters in 2006. That was great !.
I’d like to congratulate Boris Sedusov, who became the fifth person in Russia, fulfilled the Seven Summits program. Boris is 55 years old. In 1993 during descent after climb a new route of North Face of Dhaulagiri he got severe frostbitten and lost six toes. After that Boris returned to Himalaya and climbed three eight thousands peaks including Everest. We all admire his courage and his climbing conditions!

Now, in the night, the weather is still bad. But our partners Heber Orona, Pablo Kommer and Harry Kikstra plan to repeat an attempt. Good Luck !

And I think only about home, how to reach Moscow as quick as possible, until my birthday – 16th of January .
