Our command is unique because there are two women in our team, and both have names Nadejda, that means Hope. If everything will be good, and we shall climb the Mount Vinson, they become the first women from Russia, which climbed on the highest point of Antarctica.

Diary of expedition on the Mount Vinson.

January, 9.
Yesterday our team has made a march from the base camp to the camp one. It was hard enough, as our team has no acclimatization. In camp 1 the sun comes for mountains at 10 p.m. in the evening. At once it becomes cold. So we have early gone to bed. The sun appears again at midday. Having overslept 14 hours, we had well a rest and today have made easily enough transition in camp 2.

The weather is good, tomorrow under a plan we should make an acclimatization exit to reach the assault camp. The first group has left there two tents, and also a kerosene stove and products. We should check up, what happened with tents for those 20 days which we were absent. And then, depending on state of health, we shall decide what to do further. Day of rest, or at once to rise in the highest camp and go to the summit.

All participants feel well, the team spirit is high.

January, 11. 9:14 Moscow time.
Today (i.e. January, 10) our team has brought a part of things in assault camp. Marvelously, in the morning it was very hot. We have left easily dressed. But on turn the ice wind has met us. Actually, it was very strong wind. It was necessary to dress all clothes and special masks. But, thank God, there was no snow. The sky was clean. We have risen in assault camp 6 hours. There we have left things, tents already stand.

And at 12 o`clock in the morning we have gone down in camp 1. The outing last 9 hours.
Now we ate, three o`clock in the morning … the sun soon will sit, I mean go for the crest. The sun at this time, here in Antarctica, never sits. And we are going to sleep. Tomorrow, much will depend on weather. Pressure falls, there is a front, but we hope for the best.

Thanks,
Good-bye!
