14 Year Old to Kick Off Seven Summit Campaign in 2007

LONDON, Ontario -- On Tuesday March 13 at 1pm at the London Convention Centre, with supporters including London Ontario Mayor Anne Marie DeCicco-Best and Canadian cancer fighting kids in attendance, 14 year old mountaineer Brandon Schupp will announce his plans to become the youngest person to ever climb the seven summits, with three expeditions slated for 2007. His goal is to successfully complete all seven summits by age eighteen and to raise $1,000,000 for Childhood Cancer Foundation. The record for the youngest climber of all Seven Summits was set by a twenty year old.

The press conference will kick off the London Ontario teen`s sponsorship drive to fund his climbs up Mount Elbrus and Kilimanjaro (back to back -- 21 days) August 4 - 24, 2007 and Mount Aconcagua (21 days) starting on December 16, 2007. As Brandon did with his historic 2006 ascent of BC`s Good Hope Mountain (he was only the fourth known to have summited and the mountain`s youngest climber), he is dedicating his 2007 expeditions to the 10,000 kids in Canada fighting cancer and will use his climbs to fundraise for the Childhood Cancer Foundation Canada.

-Ontario cancer-fighting kids and their families, including Cole Petrie, five year old child fighting neuroblastoma. Cole`s heroic battle with cancer inspired then 13 year old Brandon Schupp in Summer 2006 to climb the 10,000 foot Good Hope Mountain on behalf of the 10,000 Canadian kids fighting cancer.

-Mary Lye, Childhood Cancer Foundation (and mother of a childhood cancer survivor) What:
-Brandon Schupp`s sponsorship and fundraising campaign to raise the funds to underwrite his three expeditions is called "Brandon`s Dream: Mountain of Hope." Total funds needed to execute all three climbs estimated to be roughly $65,000 (budget available upon request). Any funds raised above what is needed to finance the climbs will be turned over to the Childhood Cancer Foundation.
-Once his climbs are funded, Brandon will use all moneys raised through his climbs to benefit the Childhood Cancer Foundation Canada. Canadians may help Brandon realize his dream of a world free of childhood cancer by donating directly to the Childhood Cancer Foundation. Donations made directly to the Childhood Cancer Foundation will be receipted. Funds donated to Brandon`s Dream: Mountain of Hope are underwriting costs of the climb and cannot be receipted.
-Last year, Brandon raised $140,000 for Childhood Cancer Foundation through his climb up BC`s 10,000 foot Good Hope Mountain, with each foot dedicated to one of the 10,000 kids in Canada fighting cancer.

Mt. Elbrus is in Russia, Mt. Kilimanjaro is in Africa and Mt. Aconcagua is in South America. Elbrus is18,540 FT (5,642M); Kilimanjaro is 19,340 FT (5,895 M); Aconcagua is 22,841 FT (6,964M)
