Today the part of guides (the second team) has gone down in Tashi Dzong, on height of 4200 meters, for the final rest and preparation for an ascent. The first team came in Tashi Dzong early. We have met here Igor Svergun, Lorenzo Gariano and Noel Hanna. Now we are together, tomorrow Igor with his team should rise in base camp. The part of his command had a rest in Jhangmu, a part in Xegar. 14-th of May the first team gathers in base camp, 15 or May, 16-th they should leave in ÀÂÑ, on an ascent attempt. Now the weather on Everest is not so bad, though today in the base camp there was a snow. As a matter of fact, therefore we have decided to leave downwards. On hearings, some expeditions went for ascent attempt. Probably, successfully enough. At height 6500 meters and higher, the weather is a little bit another, there most likely is clear.
Now there is a night, you hear, how dogs bark. Tashi Dzong is just known as a place of many barking dogs. But in the hotel it is warm and high-altitude cough here should pass away for two days, under our plan. Now Alexander Abramov, Ludmila Korobeshko, Maxim Onipchenko and Sergey Chistiakov are in Òashi Dzong, in two days we shall rise also in base camp. Process of an ascent now begins, main thing is to not lose health. As it happened with Nikolay Cherny. He has asked today to lower his things from ÀÂÑ. Tomorrow Nikolay plans to leave for Nepal, to Katmandu. Uncle Kolja (68 years old), unfortunately, will leave our expedition - last two months of stay at height did not give it for nothing. All other members of expedition feel not bad. I hope, that the nearest two days we will gather in the base camp for preparation and the further, I hope, for successful ascents.
