Alexander Abramov is on the Caucasus now. He works for organisation of a base-jump from the shoulder of Elbrus for a team of Valery Rozov. The elevation of that steep western face (Kiukiurtliu Wall) of Elbrus is about 800 meters, from them almost 500 - vertical wall. Alexander has been invited in expedition both as a close friend, and as an expert on a wall on which it was several times.
The team already have climbed on the Western shoulder of Elbrus and investigated descent to a possible "exit". The bad weather stirred to work, but eventually the problem has been solved.
Then they has gone down on rest on the climbing base "Uzunkol" where the climbing festival and championship of Russia now proceeds. A jump from Êþêþðòëþ should become the most high-altitude jump in Europe. The height of exit will be somewhere at a level of 4500 meters. Valery is going to jump not one, but with a partner. It should be Andrey Volkov, the president of Federation of Mountaneering of Russia.
Now the main care is helicopter. It is necessary for descent of film-groups and equipments. It is important to appear in the necessary place during necessary time. Weather on Caucasus very much unstable and make an "empty" outing it would be wrong.
