Alex Abramov by telephone from Antarctica.
January, 5 2006. 3 a.m. local time.

Yesterday our team of 7Smmits-Club and 7summits.com (six person) has climbed in camp 2, on height of about 4000 m. Officially we need to rise only 800 m up to the top. The weather is a little bit strange. Now the direction of a wind has changed. Today weather was simply ideal but if to look at top of mountain - there was a strong wind. What will be tomorrow, not clear. By altimeter the pressure falls, but this is an usual phenomenon. Sometimes pressure falls, but the weather is improved. Sometimes - on the contrary.

Tomorrow we have appointed wake up at 10, and exit at 12 a.m. As I now know in Antarctica it is better not to start early, it is too cold. The warmest time here – afternoon and evening. And the peak of heat is at 6 p.m., that seems strange.
