Alexander Abramov. The message from 13.12.2005.

Alex Abramov : As I remember, that was Alex Low who said, that Antarctica is a polygon for climbers of XXI century. This century has come and something has already changed. One of advantages of Antarctica, that here it is possible to bring products from a supermarket. And products will not deteriorate, you see Antarctica it is a natural refrigerator. Now I sit in our big tent, frying small frozen cutlets. It is late evening, even night. In tent - it is hot, outside it is bright.

We have understood already, that weather is going to be good. Weather became better. And tomorrow in the morning we are going to go up for the climb of Mount Vinson. And we shall start not from camp 2, as usually, but from camp 1. It is approximately 1800 meters of vertical drop. We take with us tents (more exact one tent). Sleeping bags, also - not all. The liter of gasoline and is some products. We still have only four days so there is already nothing to wait.
At whole the weather remains unstable, I see some clouds creeping in the sky. But at least we could see our way opened.
