News from 7 Summits Club & Alpindustria Everest Expedition 2007

From the leader of expedition, Alex Abramov

May 21, camp ABC, 6400m 100% succes on Everest.

All climbers from our expedition have summited Everest. Altogether 26 persons: 14 members and 12 Sherpas. Now we are in ABC camp, in safe place. Tomorrow most people will go to the base camp.

This success has proved the right of our acclimatization plan, good tactic decisions, good equipment of climbers and Sherpas, sufficient amount of oxygen.

. On May 19 the following expedition members summitted Everest:

- Hannah Shields (Ireland)
- Curt Mayers (USA)
- Dirk Feige (Germany)
- Israfil Ashurly (Russia - Azerbaidzan. Finished 7 Summits Program by this ascent and became the first Azerbaidzanian climber to do so)
- Maxim Shakirov (Russia)
- Sergey Kofanov (expedition guide, second time on the top)
- Sergey Larin (expedition doctor, second time on the top)

And 6 Sherpas:

On May 20 the following expedition members summitted Everest:

- Sergey Batura (Russia, first representative of the Far East to summit Everest)
- Andrey Ivanov (Russia, first representative of the Far East to summit Everest)
- Sergey Dashkevich (Russia, first representative of the Far East to summit Everest )
- Liudmila Korobeshko (Russia)
- Abramov Alexander (guide and expedition leader)
- Alexander Bichenko (guide, Russia, first representative of the Far East to summit Everest )

Alex Abramov and Lyudmila Korobeshko became the first Russian couple on Everest. Lyudmila is the first female Everest summiter from Moscow and European parg of Russia. She is native from the city of Piatigorsk in Northern Caucasus not far from Elbrus the highest summit of Europe.



Photos from the rescue operation of 7 Summits Club. Italian mountaineer Marco, spent 2 days unconscious in the snow next to camp 8300. He was found by the guide of 7 Summits Club expedition Sergey Kofanov. Sergey quickly organized the rescue operation and got Marco down to North Col. That saved Marco`s life.
