Yesterday, December 7, there was the Annual Gala evening of the Russian Mountaineering Federation (FAR), dedicated to summing up the results of 2019. The main event, as usual, is considered the presentation of the prize for the best climbing achievement “Golden Ice Ax of Russia”. However, this time the evening began with a speech by our Nepalese guest Nirmal Purja (Nims).

The hero of the Himalayan year, who climbed all 14 eight-thousanders of the world in an incredibly short period of 6 months and 6 days, made a brief presentation to an impressive audience. It must be said that this year the evening of the federation  gathered a record number of spectators. And they listened with great attention and frank delight to Nims.

 Then there was the traditional procedure for awarding by Honorary Badges "Climber of Everest", climbers who first  time climbed the highest peak in the world this year. It was preceded by Maxim Shakirov with his presentation. In the past year, he carried out his own amazing project and climbed Mount Everest with video equipment for shooting 360. However, the project is not finished, we will wait for an internet site where you can admire all this.

After that, it was possible to move on to the main part of the evening - honoring the best climbers and the best climbing achievements of the year. But this is a different story.

 On October 26, the traditional meeting of the friends of the 7 Summits Club, dedicated to the birthday of our company, took place in the Chalet restaurant. See a selection of the best photos (all here)!  As always, there was a great atmosphere of a long-awaited meeting of old  and new friends of the Club.

On December 1, there was a significant event - an evening dedicated to the famous Soviet, Russian alpinist Vladimir Bashkirov. Many thanks to the organizers of the event - companies BASK, Swell and MONT! Surprisingly a large number of mountain lovers, mostly not the youngest, managed to get together. Full hall! Everyone who knew Vladimir remembered the glorious pages of mountaineering of the past. If he were alive now, he would have walked with us along trekking trails, having already passed all 14 eight-thousanders a couple of times. But, alas, Bashkirov remained a 45-year-old, a master, a leader full of enthusiasm climber. Remained in our memory and became a legend ...

The main event of the evening is the premiere of the documentary "Vladimir Bashkirov. Love dissolved in the air. " Director - Natalia Makhanko, who completed the work begun by her husband, who untimely left us Leonid Mach.

On the stage, we saw the widow of the hero Natalia, the coach and teacher of Bashkirov - Vladimir Kavunenko, his partners from the team of Spartak and the team of alpinists of Moscow.

A thousand people in the hall of the Cinema House with great attention watched the movie. And many times there was applause. Evaluation of authors - excellent!
