4 January, 23:25: Lyudmila Korobeshko, director of the 7 Summits Club and guide of the group, from Tanzania: Hello to all from the slopes of Kilimanjaro! Today, on January 4, my group arrived - 9 members. Since we had a free afternoon, we decided to spend time usefully and went to the waterfall Materuni. The trip was very informative and intensive. First, a half-hour walk to the beautiful waterfall with a height of 98 meters, which originates from the glaciers of Kilimanjaro. Then we went to a nearby village, where we were first served a very tasty village lunch. And then we went to the coffee plantations and did the process of making coffee on our own, from picking the beans and peeling them from the skins to roasting, grinding and brewing. All this was made with dancing and songs in Swahili!!! Tomorrow early morning we go on our climbing route - Machame. The first night will be in one step at 3000m. The forecast promises rains every day. We are getting ready - we take scuba gear with us! MORE »
