Andrey Berezin, a guide of the 7 Summits Club:  News of the Elbrus region. The Birch Crew group of the 7 Summits Club climbed the Western peak of Elbrus in difficult weather conditions.  We managed to get into the weather window, which was from 2 am to 11 am. We were at the top at 8 am. Besides us, three groups have risen today. Above the saddle there was a strong wind with gusts up to 60 km/h. We had to fight with such weather conditions today.

Today we went to the first station of the cable car. Today was a normal day, with rain falling from time to time.  The group named "American boy" has started a program of preparation and acclimatization for climbing Elbrus. Today we went to the first station of the cable car on Cheget. It has been several days since the cyclone came to the region. Therefore, the weather was overcast, periodically drizzling rain. We were ready for this, and as necessary, we were insulated and protected from precipitation with the necessary clothing in this situation. For the recommendation on equipment, a special thank you to the 7 Summits Club from the grateful participants of the ascent. The group "Juan tea" used the reserve day and reached the Western peak of Elbrus. The weather forecast was not the best and was confirmed in some places.  The wind reached 50 km/h. It was difficult to climb on the final leg of the way. The guides of the group Andrey Berezin and Alexander Dorojukov coped with the task and all the group members rose to the highest point.

Andrey Berezin, a guide of the 7 Summits Club:  Greetings from Elbrus!  Today in the morning we went up to our comfortable refuge National Park, settled in it. And later we started for the second day of acclimatization. We conducted snow and ice training, learned how to use an ice axe for self-arrest, walk on fixed ropes and in rope team. Now we have come down, had lunch and are resting.

Andrey Berezin, guide of the 7 Summits Club:  A group called "Crystal" has started a training program for climbing Elbrus.  Today we spent the first day of acclimatization on the slopes of Cheget. We climbed to the first station of the cable car, the height is 2700, we gained 700 meters in height. To start acclimatization, we have enough.  Tomorrow we plan to climb the refuge National Park and continue preparing for the ascent there.  The second group under the leadership of Alexander Dorojukov also started acclimatization rotation today.

Two groups of the 7 Summits Club with guides Andrey Berezin and Alexander Avtomonov have started their acclimatization rotation programs before Elbrus today. In the break between the rains, they climbed the slopes of Mount Cheget. Two other groups with guides Sergey Onufrienko and Alexander Dorojukov have already climbed the slopes of Elbrus and conducted training there in conditions of fog and complete lack of visibility. By the time we ascended to the first station of the Cheget Mountain cable car, it began to rain, which we safely waited out in the Ai cafe. There we ate delicious hychins with hot mountain tea. After the rain stopped, we went down to the Cheget glade, rented the missing equipment and went to the hotel for dinner. Andrey Berezin, guide of the 7 Summits Club from the Elbrus area: The group "Unbearable Lightness of being" climbed the Western peak of Mount Elbrus today. We reached the highest point in two groups. There were those who used the snowmobile, but part of the group climbed on foot from the National Park Refuge (3888). The weather for climbing was perfect, the whole day was clear, without clouds and precipitation. The result is 100% of the participants were at the top during the day.
