Antarctica is waiting for us. Tonight previous group, that were delayed, departed. We were supposed to fly according to plan this morning, but pilots can't fly without rest. So we waited for the evening, waiting for departure to the airport. We will continue to wait for the flight. It will take place only if there is 12 hours of good weather and here in Punta Arenas and Union Glacier in Antarctica. Chances are usually 50/50, or Yes or no.

The expedition to Antarctica to the South Pole and  Mount Vinson  spun in full swing. While it is true, Antarctica is not even visible, there is a stage of preparation in Punta Arenas. Purchase of equipment, its check, adjustment, purchase of food. Today, the whole team finally got together. In 2 days we should be ready for departure. We hope that it will not be postponed as the previous teams, which are already 2 days waiting for the weather in Punta Arenas for departure to the Ice Continent.

We, the 7 Summits Club, are saying  good-bye  to our guide Artem Rostovtsev for Antarctica. First he will lead a group to the South Pole on skis, then climb with them on Vinson, and then on bicycles again to get to the South Pole.  The leaders of the race Crimea x Run came to see Artem off!

Lyudmila Korobeshko, Director of the 7 Summits Club: we returned to Cape town from an Antarctic weekend with a lot of impressions.  We visited the land Of Queen Maud and saw the majestic mountain Ulvetanna.  We visited the real polar explorers from the Russian station Novolazarevskaya and steamed in a real sauna in Antarctica.

Lyudmila Korobeshko: we load and fly to Antarctica in an hour. We accompany our friends to a cool, unprecedented expedition.

 

Expedition "Antarctica. 200 years of discoveries". The first Autonomous (!) automobile TRANS-Antarctic expedition. It is:

- 7 participants;

- 2 all-terrain vehicles on wheels of his own invention (author-Vasily Yelagin);

- 6000 km - the proposed route includes a visit to 5 polar stations (Novolazarevskaya, Pole of Inaccessibility, South Pole, Vostok, Progress);

- 4 tons of fuel ;

- 1.5 months on the way.

And many, many kilometers of film footage about the expedition.

All greetings from Cape Town from Abramov and Korobeshko! Today, in the harsh conditions of the scorching sun and the water limit, we made a heroic ascent to the highest point of the South of South Africa - Table Mountain (Tafelberg, 1085 m). Alexander Abramov, President of the 7 Summits Club from South Africa:

Hello Friends! We arrived in Cape town in South Africa. From here on December 1 we will fly to Antarctica to Novolazarevskaya station. And then the cars with the team will go to the South Pole and through the Vostok station to the Mirny station. About 6,000 km.

 

On the way from Europe, our plane landed in Zimbabwe. Right by Victoria falls. We got a lot of fun and adrenaline.
