The 7 Summits Club team is in Antarctica for the second day at the Union Glacier Base. We are waiting for the flight to Sidley. This is the highest volcano in Antarctica, which is located 1,100 kilometers from the base. So far, the weather is bad there. There is no wind, but it is completely cloudy. We are trying to stay in shape, getting ready. We are running in the snow, riding bicycles. We are eating and sleeping.
And we are hoping for a quick flight down the mountain.

News from the Sidley group, Antarctica. Hello everyone from the southernmost continental point of South America - Punta Arenas! The departure, scheduled for December 30, was postponed to the 31st due to weather conditions. But we have something to do! In the morning we checked in our luggage and checked in for the flight, and then went to see the place of the first settlers Fort Bulnes. And some participants even swam in the Strait of Magellan! And tomorrow we will go see the penguins!
It seems that it is time to publish our own guidebooks, because we know the most interesting places and will never let our tourists get bored.

The first stage of the record-breaking Transglobal Car expedition across Antarctica was unusually successful. Without major delays and with a minimum of breakdowns, the team covered a distance of 1,443 km in five days. The Vostok station is located on the top of the so-called Antarctic dome at an altitude of 3,488 meters. Absolute minimum air temperatures for the earth's surface are recorded here. The expedition was not going to relax for long at the station. We had lunch in the historic canteen and hit the road. Now the team has to cover about 1,300 km to the South Pole. Difficulties began from the first kilometers. There was a section of deep snow on the way. They had to change the tactics of movement, the speed of which dropped. But so far everything is going ahead of schedule.

Our super guide Artem Rostovtsev, as a first-class expert in these places, planned everything competently, and we quickly went up the mountain without delays and with the necessary acclimatization. We were also lucky with the weather, thank all the gods, and we had many of them, the team is international: Russians, Poles, a Kazakh and a girl from India! Now we are all resting in the base camp and waiting for the flight to Union Glacier. Perhaps we are stuck here for a few days. But we will not be bored, firstly, there is Internet here, and secondly, tomorrow we begin building an igloo!

And also our very close friends Sergey Larin and Vasily Elagin.
This is what our route looks like

Artem Rostovtsev: the next tourist season in Antarctica has ended. We went skiing with a group under the "Last Degree" program to the South Pole, climbed in full force on two consecutive expeditions to the top of the Vinson massif. And there was also one successful ascent of the 7 Summits Club group on the Sidley volcano under the leadership of Lyudmila Korobeshko.
Everything went great. We didn't lose anyone, we didn't forget, we didn't freeze them. The equipment was packed in storage on the glacier and in Punta Arenas until the next season. And we brought a lot of impressions and photos/videos with us.
