The 7 Summits Club "Oktyabryata" group successfully summited Damavand ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19273/ The 7 Summits Club guide Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! The "Oktyabryata" group summited Damavand yesterday at a good pace, in 7.5 hours! The forecast had us on our guard, but it only galvanized us. In reality, the weather was wonderful, and the forecast proved unfounded. Damavand gave us a powerful blast of smoke as we left, so the masks we had prepared were very welcome. Now we're in Tehran, resting, recovering, and thinking about our future plans. After all, the "Oktyabryata" are the future Pioneers!

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club "Oktyabryata" group ascended to the Damavand assault camp ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19269/ The 7 Summits Club super guide Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! The "Oktyabryata" group ascended to Camp 3, also known as the assault camp, at 4,200 meters today. The weather was favorable—it was cool and windless, and we climbed at a good pace. The peak season on the mountain is almost over; there are only a few other people in camp, although the weather conditions so far appear quite suitable for a summit attempt. It was great to see our old friends—the jeep drivers and muleteers—who are always happy to help us, despite the low season. Special thanks to our Iranian girls—guide Parisa and cook Narges—for the photo shoot! They certainly added a special touch to this news.

<![CDATA[ Summit! The 7 Summits Club "Oktyabryata" group climbed Mount Tochal and went to the Damavand foothills. ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19267/ The 7 Summits Club guide Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! The "Oktyabryata" group is briskly following its itinerary. Today we moved to the wonderful Arses Motel near Damavand. The day began with an ascent to Mount Tochal, 3,964 meters (12,500 ft) – an easy climb along a well-trodden trail with a beautiful panorama of Tehran. At the summit, despite the haze, we had a clear view of our main destination – the Damavand volcano itself. There, at the top of Tochal, we chatted with friendly Iranian police officers and took a group photo. Then, after descending by cable car to Tehran, we headed to the foot of Damavand, to the Iranian Mountaineering Federation House, where we obtained permits and took the traditional photo. From the Federation House, it's just half an hour to our beautiful "Arses" (mentioned above), where a wonderful lunch and afternoon rest awaited us. In the evening, we visited the thermal springs and dined at our favorite kebab shop in Larijan. Everything is on plan; tomorrow we ascend to camp at 4,200 meters.

<![CDATA[ A group calling themselves the "October Children" set out to conquer Damavand in October ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19265/ The 7 Summits Club super guide Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! Damavand unexpectedly invited us to visit in October. And we didn't refuse! And so, the group, appropriately named "October Children," began their program. Tehran is attractive and lively at any time of year, whether in July, September, or October. It's cooler now, of course, but that actually makes for a comfortable stay. Visiting the Golestan Palace, the Milod Tower, and buying souvenirs and pistachios—we managed all of that yesterday, in just the first day. And today, we've already ascended to the Tochal mountain hotel at 3,600 m, begun acclimatizing, and leisurely hiked to 3,850 m. Tomorrow, we plan to climb Tochal, the highest point in the region.

<![CDATA[ The Perseus and the Perseids group has completed its stay in Iran: the ascent has been completed, awards and impressions have been received ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19185/ Greetings from Iran! The Perseus and the Perseids group in full force stood on the top of Damavand yesterday. The weather did not let us down, it was the warmest morning in all my time working on the mountain. A properly planned separate exit of two groups allowed us to reach the top almost at the same time. The girls showed themselves in the best possible way. I would especially like to mention Anna, who had an anniversary on the day of the ascent. A worthy option to celebrate such a wonderful date!

On the same day we went down to Tehran and in the evening we were already enjoying the benefits of civilization. Today we had a day of rest, free time, and in the evening a gala dinner and the awarding of participants with certificates and medals.

"Perseus and the Perseids" have started the decisive part of the Damavand ascent program. The night before, we spent the night in the brand new Arses motel with an excellent kitchen, where everyone had their own room the size of an apartment, and from the balcony there were magnificent views of the other side of the valley. This morning, we climbed in retro jeeps to the Mosque, and then made a six-hour climb to the camp at 4200 m, where we will spend three nights. The weather is good, our Iranian guides note the unusually warm season on the mountain, we hope that we will be lucky too. Guide Valery Myasoedov.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club group "Perseus and the Perseids" received permits to summit Damavand after climbing Mount Tochal ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19162/ The 7 Summits Club Guide Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Hello everyone from sunny Iran! Our group "Perseus and the Perseids" is climbing higher and higher to Damavand, going deeper and deeper into the country and getting closer and closer to the cherished goal.

Today the team acclimatized and enjoyed the views of Tehran, Damavand and the surrounding mountain ranges from the slopes of Mount Tochal.

Then we moved closer to Damavand. We stayed in a cozy hotel at the foot of the mountain. We received permits for the ascent in a ceremonial atmosphere, regained our strength in the healing thermal springs, tasted local cuisine and enjoyed the views in anticipation of a closer acquaintance with the mountain.

Tomorrow, according to the plan, the group should already reach the Base Camp at an altitude of 4150 meters.

On the second day of the program, the group "Perseus and the Perseids" began acclimatization. In the morning, we left our comfortable Espinas Palace and headed to the mountainous area at the foot of Mount Tochal, where we stayed in a hotel called Tochal. We went up on the cable car along the way, admiring the panorama of Tehran and watching dozens of local residents who on a day off, and Friday in Iran is like Sunday in our country, traditionally make leisurely ascents to the top of Tochal. The mountain hotel also pleased us with its coziness and delicious food, and after lunch, having rested a bit, we walked to the top of Mount Shakhneshin, 3850 m. Tomorrow is a new day, new tasks. <![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club group has arrived in Iran, the Damavand ascent program begins ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19153/ Valery Myasoedov, the 7 Summits Club Guide, reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! Yes, it has happened! The only group of this season to Damavand arrived in Tehran today. How we waited for this and hoped that the country would open up and welcome us again. At first glance, everything is as before, life is in full swing, the bustle of the capital and traffic jams, the bazaars and shops are open, our favorite local team, our best hotel Espinas Palace...

Everyone remembers us and was waiting for us. According to tradition, today there was a city tour, a visit to the Tajrish bazaar and the mosque of the same name. At lunch in the Milad Tower, the group was already in full force, some of the participants arrived on a daytime flight. After lunch we stopped at a store with oriental sweets, bought pistachios and other goodies, and upon returning to the hotel we checked our gear. At the welcome we got to know each other better and discussed the program for tomorrow. The day flew by in an instant. Tomorrow we are going up to the mountain hotel for acclimatization.

<![CDATA[ The "Openers" group, that is, Galymzhan Kuspanov with a guide, climbed the Demavand volcano ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19113/ Galymzhan Kuspanov from Iran: Tonight at 4:30 we were preparing to start the climb. We had breakfast and set off, and reached the summit at a good pace in 6 hours. The route is completely trekking. Along the way we saw an ice waterfall that never thaws, as well as sulfur emissions that look like steam from a giant boiling kettle. Hydrogen sulfide actively comes to the surface, it even burns your throat. Everyone puts on buffs over their mouth and nose, and tries to run past this place as quickly as possible.

The smell is about the same as a burnt match. But seeing a living volcano is very romantic.

We went down to the Base Camp in 2.5 hours, mostly on scree, flashlights were very useful, they protected us from small stones. The weather was windless and excellent all day!

The sixth volcano out of seven brings the dream of completing the entire "seven volcanoes" project closer.

I feel good, my mood is cheerful. It's calm here.

Having taken pictures against the backdrop of probably the highest mosque in the world 3100m, and having loaded their bags onto mules, they quickly reached the Base Camp 4200m lightly.

We settled in a cozy house (thanks to the 7 Summits Club) to the envy of numerous residents of the tent city.

Oh, Artem and I suffered a lot on Damavand! The forecast did not quite come true, it was very harsh on the mountain. Gusts of wind constantly threw us off the path, but we dug in, endured and reached the summit! We were in the cloud the whole time, and so we returned to the shelter all covered in snow and ice. But our adventure did not end there, the cloudiness descended behind us, and we still had to go down from the shelter to the car in the blizzard and with flashlights in the dark. We were very tired, but happy with the impressions, such an ascent is remembered for a long time!

News from Iran. Today, in three and a half hours at a super-even pace, we gained a kilometer of altitude and reached the refuge at an altitude of 4200 meters. While we were walking, the wind didn't bother us much, we even walked half the way in fleece jackets. But at the shelter it was already blowing quite a bit, and although the sun was shining, it was still cold. We tried not to get scared and prepared for the assault. The departure was scheduled for 4:30.

So far, everything is going according to plan.

Actually, I arrived a day earlier than Artem. Yesterday, with my friend, the first Iranian with an international guide certificate, we climbed the local rocks not far from the capital.

Greetings from Iran! The "Ripe Peaches" group, or rather part of it, is still in the country and is making a sightseeing tour of the ancient capitals of Persia.

Yesterday, early in the morning, we flew to Shiraz, the capital of the province of Fars, and spent the whole day in this ancient city of poets, love and roses. So many magnificent gardens and parks, magnificent mosques... in this aspect Shiraz has no competitors. We visited the Narenjestan Garden, the Garden of Eden, the tomb of Hafez, the great poet of the 14th century, revered by all Iranians, then had lunch in a traditional restaurant near the Vakil Bazaar. The bazaar itself has 400 years of history, a walk through it is an obligatory part of the program of stay in Shiraz. In the evening we walked in the city center around the Karim Khan Fortress, where on weekends, and Thursday is a day off in Iran, like Saturday in our country, thousands of city dwellers gather, and tasted the famous Shiraz dessert faloodeh. A wonderful end to the day!

<![CDATA[ Summit! The 7 Summits Club group has successfully climbed the summit of the Damavand volcano. Our congratulations! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17666/ Greetings to everyone from the Ripe Peaches team! Today we had a very long and eventful day. We got up early. We left the shelter in the direction of the summit under the moonlight at 3:10. We walked slowly, in an even formation, singing songs. And already at 9:50 we reached the summit of the highest volcano in Asia, 5609 m! We tried to take a photo as if we were the only ones at the top, but today there were quite a lot of people. Therefore, we did not linger long and began the descent. And at 12:30 we were already met at the camp with a hot delicious lunch.

The weather today was incredibly pleasing to us, and we still had plenty of strength, so we decided to continue the descent and get to Tehran. Everyone is alive and well, they haven't realized their feat yet, but we are already accepting congratulations!

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club super-group "Ripe Peaches" is ready to attempt to climb Damavand ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17659/ Hello to everyone from "Ripe Peaches"! Today we went for a walk, or rather, made an acclimatization hike, and climbed from our camp from 4200m to 4500m. We had a small picnic, met tourists from other countries, sunbathed, took photos and went down. Today is our day of rest, so we enjoyed the weather and the views. At dinner, we celebrated Kristina Putintseva's birthday with non-alcoholic Iranian beer and sweet cake. We are already getting ready for bed, because tomorrow is our most important day.

We hope to return to you with news by lunch.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club team "Ripe Peaches" received permits to climb Damavand after climbing Mount Tochal ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17652/ Greetings to everyone from the "Ripe Peaches" team! Today's acclimatization night was great. And despite the fact that we spent the night at an altitude of 3600 m, a cozy hotel with spacious rooms and a view of the mountains allowed us to forget about the altitude. As a morning workout, we made a training climb on Mount Tochal, 3964 m. Having descended to the foot of the mountain by cable car, we headed towards the House of the Iranian Mountaineering Federation, where we received our permits for the climb. Before dinner, we stopped at the thermal springs at the foot of Damavand. Then we got even more involved in the local culture by visiting a local cafe, where we tried many different kebabs...
We discussed plans for tomorrow and went to rest after such a busy day.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club team "Ripe Peaches" made an acclimatization ascent to the summit of Shah Nishin ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17648/ Hello to everyone from the "Ripe Peaches" team! Today we will set off to the slopes of Mount Tochal. In winter, this is a gorgeous ski resort, and now, an empty chalet is completely at our disposal! The weather is favorable to us, so after a hearty lunch, we went for a walk. We walked so well that we climbed to the top of Shah Nishin, which translates as "a place for a king." Our royal team took a rest right at the top, admired the views of Tehran and the nearby mountains, drank tea, and under the rays of the setting sun, wandered along the multi-colored slopes to a delicious hearty dinner. After eating, we decided to play the famous game "Uno" and went our separate ways to gather strength for tomorrow.

<![CDATA[ The second expedition of the 7 Summits Club as part of the Super Girls project has started in Iran ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17570/ Damavand (5609 m). Super Girls project. Seven Volcanoes project.

Hello everyone! Our new series of the charming Super Girls Damavand project has begun. We have all been waiting for this! Yesterday the Supergirls team arrived in Iran and was amazed at what a beautiful and historical country it is. Wonderful people. We visited the palace of King Golestan, got acquainted with the culture of ancient Persia. In the evening we had a traditional dinner on the TV tower with a panoramic view of Tehran.

Today is our first ascent. We are climbing to the top of Mount Tuchal.

The atmosphere in the city is normal, calm. Everyone is walking and laughing.

<![CDATA[ The President of the 7 Summits Club Alex Abramov has announced the start of a program to set a speed record for the Seven Volcanoes program ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17547/ The project will be called "Seven Volcanoes in Seven Months." Alex Abramov will lead two Super Girls groups to Damavand and Elbrus in August. According to the plan, the ascent of Damavand should take place on August 13. From that day, the countdown for the record will begin. It is considered "from summit to summit." In October, Giluwe is planned, in November, Orizaba and Kilimanjaro. In December, an expedition to the Antarctic volcano Sidley. And in February, Alexander should complete the project by climbing Ojos del Salado. To break the speed record (183 days, 20 hours and 54 minutes), he needs to climb the Chilean volcano before February 12. Which is not entirely easy, if our President intends to finish the Antarctic season only on January 22. That was in his plans.

Alexander Abramov can be safely called the "godfather" of the Seven Volcanoes program. It was the president of the 7 Summits Club who conceived, and our company carried out, the historic expedition of 2011 to Mount Sidley. Since the scientific discovery of this highest volcano in Antarctica, no one had been there. As a result of the 2011 ascent, the first people to climb all seven volcanoes appeared. These were the participants of our expedition Mario Trimeri and Crina Popescu. And this was the real start of the Seven Volcanoes program. Russia, represented by our company, is the world leader in the number of climbers who have climbed all seven volcanoes of the project. At the moment, out of 46 who have completed the project, 14 represent our country. There is something to be proud of!

<![CDATA[ Details of the ascent of Damavand by the group of the 7 Summits Club "Persian Lions" ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17378/ Greetings from Tehran! Yesterday (July 2) the Persian Lions group stood in full force at the top of Damavand! The weather conditions continue to surprise us. It was the third ascent in a row, which took place in difficult conditions, in fog and with strong winds. It should be noted that such weather is unusual for Damavand at this time of the year. And this makes this ascent an even more significant achievement. At the last moment, the exit to the assault was again postponed to 23.00, up to a height of 5,200 m we walked in one group. Then we split into two. The "fast ones" broke away for half an hour, but stayed at the top to take a general group photo - team spirit, what else can you say! Of course, it was not easy, of course, everyone was tired, but the memory of achieving the goal in such conditions will remain with us for the rest of our lives. We are proud of the Team with a capital letter! Guides Evgeny Fedyunin and Valery Myasoedov.

Our group "Persian Lions" on the 4th day of the Damavand climbing program went up to the 4250m assault camp. The weather, ugh-ugh-ugh, pleased me and the pace was good, we got up in 5 hours. There is practically no one in the refuge yet, which cannot but please, peace and quiet, without fuss around.

The hot soup brought us to our senses after trekking, now we are resting and waiting for a delicious dinner, the menu of which will definitely be a surprise for the group.

<![CDATA[ The group of the 7 Summits Club "Persian Lions" moved to the foot of the Damavand, received permits and is ready to climb ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17361/ 29.06, 3rd day. All salom from Iran! Our group "Persian Lions" of the 7 Summits Club continues its acclimatization! Today we practically had a day of rest, after yesterday's mountain Tochal climb. A certain tradition is developing. We started the morning with a high-altitude exercise and an excellent national breakfast.

We slowly descended by cable car to Tehran and drove to the foot of Damavand. Already, almost in the native restaurant "Adam and Eve", we had lunch with a lot of kebabs. It's very tasty, it's pointless to write, you need to try!

We received climbing permits from the local Mountaineering Federation and came to the Larijan thermal springs resort. This is "real mountaineering": kebabs, springs, swimming!

Dinner, as always, at the local wonderful kebab shop with seven types of kebabs. The real work begins tomorrow, we will climb to the hut of the assault camp at an altitude of 4250m.
