Photo Gallery ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_16805/ Artem Rostovtsev: the next tourist season in Antarctica has ended. We went skiing with a group under the "Last Degree" program to the South Pole, climbed in full force on two consecutive expeditions to the top of the Vinson massif. And there was also one successful ascent of the 7 Summits Club group on the Sidley volcano under the leadership of Lyudmila Korobeshko.

Everything went great. We didn't lose anyone, we didn't forget, we didn't freeze them. The equipment was packed in storage on the glacier and in Punta Arenas until the next season. And we brought a lot of impressions and photos/videos with us.

The second group on Vinson. Some photos.

<![CDATA[ Summit! The group of the 7 Summits Club climbed the highest point of Antarctica, Mount Vinson, in full force, 10 participants and two guides ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_16785/ According to the information received, today the group of the 7 Summits Club under the leadership of Artyom Rostovtsev reached the summit of Mount Vinson and descended safely. The ascent took place in a normal mode, all participants and two guides reached the highest point. Unfortunately, this year it was not possible to establish a stable connection with the groups that were in the Vinson area. But we will be waiting for full information, photos and videos upon the team's return to the Union Glacier base.

Hello Seven Summits! These are the far South, Antarctica. Vinson Massive, expedition on Mount Vinson with Artyom Rostovtsev. Yesterday we moved from Union Glacier to Base Camp and today we decided to go straight up to Low Camp. We're fine here, we're alone – no more commands, no one bothers us. The plan is to spend a couple more days here, but we will look at the weather. Everything is fine with everyone. The group feels fine, the participants are motivated. We will relax and then continue to storm the summit.

<![CDATA[ The 20-year-old Tsang Long Kit, or simply Bob, is the new record holder in Hong Kong and China. Congratulations! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_16743/ We are waiting for the return of the 7 Summits Club group from Antarctica, which climbed the summit of the highest mountain on the continent. Among the climbers who have visited the top of the Vinson Massif, there is one representative of Chinese Hong Kong, whom we call Bob. His full name is Tsang Long Kit. With our help, this brave young man became the record holder of his native Hong Kong and the whole of China – he became the youngest climber to climb all the highest peaks of all continents. "Seven Peaks" at the age of 20, great job! Good luck, many successes with your life and new heights!

<![CDATA[ The members of the group of the 7 Summits Club “Sidley”, together with the Vinson group, celebrated Artem Rostovtsev's birthday at the Union Glacier camp ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_16737/ Lyudmila Korobeshko, the guide and director of the 7 Summits Club, reports from Antarctica:

January 10th. Greetings from Antarctica, Camp Union Glacier, from the group "Empanadas or Chilean pies" expedition to Sidley!

We are still on Union Glacier at 79 degrees South latitude in Antarctica. Yesterday, January 9th, we had a busy day - both our groups and the whole camp celebrated the birthday of the guide of the 7 Summits Club Artem Rostovtsev. In the afternoon we organized a picnic with a walk to the Drake Icefall. Along the way, we were lucky to see the Il-76 take off with a team of our friends, Russian pilots. Then we wandered through the blue labyrinths of the icefall for about an hour, took pictures and at the end arranged a buffet in honor of Artyom.

In the evening, dinner was already celebrated globally with toasts, cake and special Antarctic cocktails from Chilean chef Patricio, who has already worked with us twice on Everest. The evening ended with a music lovers club - everyone shared their favorite romantic song.

Today, January 10th, according to the plan, we were supposed to fly to Punta Arenas. But the weather turned bad. Moreover, it even snowed - an extremely rare phenomenon in Antarctica (after all, this is the largest desert on our planet).

We really hope to fly tomorrow…

And then we were reunited with the team of Luda Korobeshko, who returned from the summit of the Sidley volcano.

Hello everyone from Punta Arenas Airport! Happy New Year to everyone! Yesterday, for us, the intrigue lasted until the last moment. In the morning we lived in a waiting mode for departure to Antarctica. At 6 p.m. Chile time (it's midnight in Moscow), we decided to relax a little and celebrate the New Year ... and then the flight was announced. More precisely, we were informed of the departure time - earlier on the morning of January 1. So we didn't celebrate for long - we had to prepare for departure. But according to the Chilean tradition, we put on yellow underpants for the New Year. And everything worked out.
We are already at the airport, preparing for departure. We hope to send you greetings from Antarctica from Union in 5-6 hours.
See you soon! Lyudmila Korobeshko.

Greetings from the edge of the world — from Punta Arenas! Yesterday, December 29, we had a day of preparation for the flight to Antarctica. We handed over our things, weighed ourselves, and received boarding passes. In the evening, we went to the team of pilots who have been flying IL-76 here for many years. We brought their favorite dish from their now distant homeland - herring! We are currently waiting for departure. However, the weather is not very good at Union yet. Nevertheless, we hope and wait with our fingers crossed.

Greetings from the edge of the world from Punta Arenas, Chile! Both our expeditions to the highest points of Antarctica, Sidley and Vinson, are assembled! Yesterday, the smartest members managed to drive to the legendary national park Torres del Paine Park and admire the famous peaks, lakes with icebergs and met wild exotic animals and birds. Those who arrived yesterday managed to run around the entire Punta Arenas and buy everything necessary for the flight to Antarctica. And we also attended the ALE briefing, got the tips and watched a cool movie about what awaits us in Antarctica. And most importantly, we performed an important rite for good luck - we kissed the native's foot at the monument to Magellan in the central square.
Today we are handing over our things and tomorrow, according to the plan, we will fly to Union Glacier, where Artem Rostovtsev, who successfully reached the South Pole with the group yesterday, should be waiting for us! See you soon!
The head of the expedition to Sidley is Lyudmila Korobeshko.

In the morning, the most active part arrived - those who are closing the Seven Volcanoes project. We went straight from the airport to watch the ships, then checked the equipment and then the guys rushed to Fort Bulnes (a historical place, the southernmost Chilean settlement once). They want to visit as many places as possible, because Patagonia is the dream of all boys. There are many interesting locations here. We are waiting for the rest members by this evening.

Hello everyone! The weather postponed the flight by only one day. Now we are already in Antarctica, and now the Antarctic season has really begun. So far, according to the forecast, the vicinity of the pole is not very suitable for flights, we will spend at least one day on the Union Glacier. There will be something to do, we will practice with the equipment before going on the route already in the environment for which it was created. Skis, sleds, stretches, systems.

And yes, there is Wi-Fi!

For the first time in history, an Internet connection has been established with Antarctica this year. We are waiting for new reports and operational information from Artyom!

Yesterday, our guide and the most experienced polar explorer Artem Rostovtsev arrived at the edge of the world and the starting point of expeditions to Antarctica, in the southernmost (mainland) city of the world - Punta Arenas.

In a few days, the participants of the first expedition will arrive - a ski trip to the South Pole. Then, according to the plan, we will have two more large groups of climbers to the highest point of Antarctica - the Vinson Massif. And also after Christmas, the highlight of our season in Antarctica starts - the largest Russian expedition to the highest volcano in Antarctica, Sidley. Several members of this team are planning to complete the 7 Volcanoes project!!! At the moment only 8 people in Russia have been able to complete this project. Now there are only 42 such lucky people in the world.

P.S. - Meetings with interesting people often happen in Antarctica. We wish Artyom and our teams the most unexpected and pleasant Antarctic meetings!

<![CDATA[ The leaders of the 7 Summits Club held successful negotiations in the USA. We are waiting for an amazing season in 2023-2024 in Antarctica! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_15412/ Greetings from Alex Abramov and Luda Korobeshko from the USA!

Simultaneously with active preparations for Everest, Makalu and K2, we are also preparing for a large-scale season in Antarctica 2023-2024. This week we met with our partners for Antarctica (ALE). We specially flew to this meeting in Salt Lake City. And we have just incredible news!

A very large and unusual season in Antarctica is planned. In addition to our standard programs "Ascent to the highest peak of Antarctica Vinson" and expeditions to the South Pole "Last Degree", this time we will have two large groups to the highest volcano in Antarctica — Sidley.

The 7 Summits Club is the first and only company in Russia that started 20 years ago and annually organizes ascents in Antarctica on the Vinson Massif as part of the Seven Summits project and to Sidley as part of the Seven Volcanoes project.

Usually, only 8 people per year are allowed to climb Mount Sidley from all over the world. But thanks to successful negotiations, we will have two big groups in the 2024 season!

Join us!

The season in Antarctica has ended. It was not the longest for the 7 Summits Club, but as always productive. All the participants and guides managed to stand on the top of the Vinson massif. And the final group was lucky to be on the summit in quiet sunny windless weather, so the predicted -32 felt like -10. Now everyone has already gone home, the expedition equipment has been checked, repaired, preserved and is waiting for the next season. We invite everyone! January 5th. We safely descended to the base camp. It remains to wait for the weather and fly to the Union Glacier base. No one was injured during the walk down from the assault camp. We went down and celebrated our success qualitatively. We hope that tomorrow we will be at the base and will have the opportunity to learn a little more about Antarctica before flying back. Sunny snowy greetings to all! On January 6, it looks like there will be no charter, we will arrive according to the original plan. That is, on January 9th.

January 6th. The expedition on the Vinson Massif returns step by step to civilization. Today we managed to fly from the base camp to the Union Glacier, they not only feed here, but also entertain. On a late sunny evening we went on an excursion to Elephant Head Mountain. And after that, medals were awarded to all climbers on the Vinson Massif in our team. And there are 100% of them! If there is weather, maybe we will get to the South Pole.

To the base camp for 8 people in the plane, count for yourself. We promptly set up camp and had dinner, the rest of the expedition envied. Now we are already sleeping, resting. Tomorrow we want to move to Low camp.

Our expedition to Antarctica on the Vinson Massif has ended. Of the 12 days, 8 had terrible weather. We fought with the wind, held flying tents, carried loads and took photos with frozen fingers. But the result is excellent, the whole team was standing on top of the highest mountain in Antarctica - Vinson Massif! The whole team rallied like one powerful fist. The team had participants from different countries: India, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus and Russia. This is a true friendship of peoples. Everyone helped everyone, worried, rejoiced together. Great team!

As a result, the first Kyrgyz, Kadyr Nurmamatov, stood at the top of the Vinson Massif. And also the oldest Indian who completed the project "Seven Summits" - Sharad Kulkarni. And the second Indian woman who ascended the Vinson Massif is Anvita Padamati. The rest of the participants also climbed to the top, together with two guides Alexander Abramov and Artem Rostovtsev.

<![CDATA[ The team of the 7 Summits Club made the final acclimatization rotation before storming the summit of the Vinson Massif ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_15070/ President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov reports from Antarctica:

News from Antarctica from the Vinson-2 group. Today we made an acclimatization rotation to an altitude of 3500 m. The shadow comes to the Lower Camp (Low Camp) only at 3 a.m. and the cold period lasts until 10:30, so we had breakfast at 12:00. Then Artem Rostovtsev and Kadyr Nurmamatov started a high-speed ascent to the High Camp at 3800 m to check everything we have there. All the other seven participants and Alex Abramov climbed at their own pace a thousand meters along the railing rope. We took with us to the end of the ropes some equipment and food for the High Camp. Tomorrow we have a day of rest and preparation for the decisive days.

And on December 15th, our plan is to climb to the High Camp already to storm the summit. On the 16th - the summit, the 17th descent and, ideally, a flight to the Union Glacier base. On December 18, we have scheduled a flight to the Mainland.

<![CDATA[ In Antarctica, bad weather reigns under the Vinson Massif. The group of the 7 Summits Club is fighting a hurricane at the base camp ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_15061/ A message from Antarctica dated December 10. Alexander Abramov, President of the 7 Summits Club, reports:

Today our team observed bad weather at the Vinson Massif base camp. Some of the groups went to the upper camps. But we stayed because the forecast is bad. In the afternoon, Artem and Kadyr ran to the Low Camp camp, checked the depot. The rest of the participants were resting from yesterday's hike. We were playing chess when we suddenly heard a cry that the tent was flying away, one tent was blown away by the wind. We started fighting the squall. Hell. We rushed to sprinkle all the tents with snow for 50-60 cm around with a snow shaft. The wind was getting stronger. An hour later, all the tents, including the dining room, presented the appearance of snow caves. The strongest hurricane is expected tonight. Then the wind will weaken. And we're going to Low Camp.

The guides of the 7 Summits Club are Alexander Abramov and Artem Rostovtsev.

<![CDATA[ The first message of the season from sunny Antarctica, from the first group of the 7 Summits Club ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_15056/ President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov reports from the Union Glacier camp in Antarctica:

A message from Antarctica, from the Union Glacier camp. The Vinson-22 team. Today we got up at 6 am. At 7 o'clock the team went to the airport, where we were met by a comfortable Boeing. Each passenger here is entitled to 3 seats, a whole row. Therefore, our flight to Antarctica was successful, without any adventures. We flew over the Drake Strait for a long time and then saw through the portholes a snow-white continent surrounded by ice shelves and icebergs. On the edge were the mountains of Alexander Island.

The weather is really clear. Only a strong wind at high altitude. We landed gently, if you can say that about landing on bare ice. The Union Glacier camp was met with comfort and delicious food. Everyone happily began photographing Antarctica. Today they started sending groups to the Vinson Base Camp. We were supposed to take the second flight. We had lunch. The first two groups flew away. And then they announce to us that today there is a strong wind at Vinson Base Camp and our flight is canceled. So we also had a delicious dinner. We put up our tents. And now we are getting ready for bed. We hope to fly to the mountains tomorrow morning. Guides Alexander Abramov and Artem Rostovtsev.

<![CDATA[ The international group of the 7 Summits Club flew to Antarctica ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_15055/ President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov reports from the plane:

A new style. Now we fly on a Boeing. That it is comfortable to sit. And even sleep. There were also no windows in Ilyushin. And now we will be able to photograph Antarctica and the Vinson Massif from an altitude of 10,000 m.

There are even flight attendants on the plane. They give nuts and show a movie. Amundsen and Scott's time is going away forever.

There will be no Internet for the next 2 weeks. And thank God! But we will send the news. Since the guides have 2 satellite communicators.

<![CDATA[ Thank you all! On the party of the meeting of friends of the 7 Summits Club was successful, we were glad to see you all ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_14330/ Yesterday, a big meeting of friends of the 7 Summits Club took place in the lecture hall of the Sports Marathon Travelers Club. The program included the presentation of Alexander Abramov's book "The Height-Altitude Gene" and the first ever presentation of orders “Seven Summits”. The hall was crowded, and everyone showed great interest in what was happening "on stage". The procedure for awarding orders has turned into a solemn presentation of outstanding personalities, such are the heroes, the climbers of all "Seven Summits".

The Order of the Seven Summits is an honorary award to climbers who have climbed the highest peaks of all seven continents of our planet. In total, there are almost half a thousand people who have completed it. There are already about fifty of them in the list of Russians. The first number in it is the famous Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov, who completed the program back in 1997.

The presentation of the badge of honor, which is called the order, is a long-standing idea of the president of the 7 Summits Club company, Alexander Abramov, who, by the way, has already completed the program three times. Finally, the idea that the climbers of the "SevenSummits" are worthy of a separate award has been brought to life. And the heroes who have passed through all continents, climbed to their highest peaks, received a beautiful order! The 7 Summits Club plans to make the solemn procedure of awarding the Seven Summits Orders traditional. After all, the award can only be received in person, not everyone could be in Moscow that evening. Well, we are waiting for new heroes, the mountains are calling and waiting for us!

Antarctic mission of the 7 Summits Club ends to resume again ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_13923/ Vladimir Kotlyar, guide of the 7 Summits Club, from Punta Arenas (Chile): Aloha, everyone! The war ends by mutual consent, and the expedition ends when the guides board the last plane. That's why we're not done with Antarctic history yet. Sanya, Lena and I sort out the equipment, repair, dry the tents and, of course, drink a little wine at the same time.

All the participants of the expeditions went home safely. They received diplomas and medals for their Antarctic achievements.

In general, greetings to everyone from our already thinned, but still cool Antarctic expedition of the 7 Summits Club!

<![CDATA[ Expedition program of the 7 Summits Club in Antarctica: the author and publisher met for the first time in the middle of the Ice continent. An amazing meeting! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_13919/ Alexander Brychkin, participant of the Vinson Massif ascent: The impossible is possible! At the edge of the earth, on the base of Union Glacier Antartica, I met our author - a great mountaineer and a wonderful person, Nirmal Purja, or simply Nims. He led a group with an Arab princess on the Vinson Massif and the South Pole. We were also at the summit, but we missed each other by just a few days. It was easier for us because we had better weather.

Nims climbed all 14 eight-thousandths in 6 months, which was previously considered categorically impossible.

From the notes of one of the participants of the Antarctic program of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Brychkin. Alexander is one of the leading publishers and distributors of books in Russia. It was only thanks to him that the translation of the book of Nims came out very quickly in our country.

Aloha, the 7 Summits Club! This is Vladimir Kotlyar and a group of climbers on the highest point of Antarctica, the Vinson Massif. As you already know, we reached to the top yesterday. All the participants have ascended, which they are very happy about. Today we went down to the base camp. We pitched tents, had a delicious meal, drank a little. We did another PCR test, well, this is already the reality of our trips and travels. And, in general, we had a good time. We are preparing to fly to Union. I hope he will be here soon. But! Having learned from the experience of past expeditions, I did not allow us to drink all the available liquids in stock today. And we decided to divide them into four days. So as not to sit and not get bored waiting for the plane. But who knows, maybe the plane will be quite soon. In general, everything is cool ... We send you warm hugs, strong handshakes from here, from Antarctica! The season can be considered over.

<![CDATA[ Our Lyudmila has no equal in the whole world! There are three times on the "Seven Summits" - a world record! Not the first one, by the way ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_13899/ Having climbed the summit of the Vinson Massif, Lyudmila Korobeshko fulfilled the norm of the "Seven Summits" program for the third time, ascents on the highest peaks of all continents. Actually, not even two times has any woman in the world done it. So the advantage in this game of the director of the 7 Summits Club is absolute! And there are only a few men with such an achievement. Let's add two poles on skis, two more eight-thousand-meter Cho-Oyo and Manaslu, seven-thousand-meters peaks, six of the seven volcanoes, Mount Kosciusko, climbing and trekking around the world. And the management of the company and the family. At the same time, natural beauty and intelligence, the ability to learn, charm, a unique husband and a talented son.

Lyuda is a real hero of Russia! She is worthy of the memory of her grandfather, the Hero of the Great Patriotic War Miron Korobeshko!

We are proud of you! Your 7 Summits Club.
