Well, all adventures must come to an end! Yesterday we left Betty Lodge and returned to Mount Hagen!

That evening, at a gala dinner, we presented our participants with certificates for climbing Wilhelm Peak! We spent 10 days in PNG, and this trip was absolutely action-packed! We climbed Mount Giluwe and Wilhelm Peak, met more than 10 local tribes and learned about their traditions, and most importantly, each participant made new friends on this trip. After all, mountains are about people, and every member of our team made this trip unforgettable!

<![CDATA[ Summit! The 7 Summits Club group has successfully climed Peak Wilhelm ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19240/ September 24. Hooray! THE SUMMIT! The entire 7 Summits Club "Huli Team" summited Peak Wilhelm (4,509 m)! We left our base camp at 3,600 m and set out at 2:00 AM. It rained all evening, so we set out in rubber boots, which have become second nature to us during this trip.

The route initially follows the river, then emerges onto the cliffs. At 5:20 AM, the sky began to lighten, and we enjoyed an incredibly beautiful sunrise until 6 AM! The sky was a riot of color!

At 9 AM, we stood at the summit of Papua New Guinea's highest summit—Peak Wilhelm! The weather was so pleasant that we spent about an hour there, chatting and drinking tea above the clouds!

On the descent, we were caught in the rain. We descended to camp at 2 PM, had lunch, repacked, and quickly ran to our cozy Betty's Lodge, where a hot shower and delicious dinner awaited us!

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club "Huli Team" ascended to the base camp, also known as the summit camp, beneath Peak Wilhelm ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19237/ September 23rd. Greetings from the "Huli Team" in Papua New Guinea! In the morning, after a hearty, delicious breakfast, we met the team of local porters and guides, loaded up our bags, and headed to Wilhelm Peak Base Camp.

The trek is short, only 8 km, but very scenic! The scenery here is unlike anything we'd seen in Mount Hagen. We first walked through the jungle, then reached an open viewpoint, and then a waterfall.

As we approached the camp, located on the picturesque shore of a lake, we were caught in a rainstorm that continued all night. But by 11 PM, the weather cleared, and the sky was dotted with a scattering of twinkling stars! We set off for the ascent at 2 AM.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club group has moved to our beloved Betty's Lodge and from there will head to Wilhelm Peak ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19233/ September 22nd. Greetings from Papua New Guinea! We saw the main part of our group off at the airport, and with two other members, we continue our program.

We moved to Kundiawa and checked into Betty's Lodge – the coziest place in PNG, in our humble opinion. It's a wonderful lodge, everything is done with such care and love that it's truly heartwarming!

Lodge owner Betty has a place here. We have our own trout farm, a huge blooming garden, goats, and chickens. Everything we serve is grown here.

That evening, we had a delicious dinner and mapped out our plans for tomorrow. In the morning, we set out for Wilhelm Peak Base Camp. We'll be without communication for a day and a half.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club "Huli na Giluwe" group celebrated the completion of the program. The main goal has been achieved – everyone is happy! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19229/ September 21st. Greetings from faraway Papua New Guinea from the "Huli na Giluwe" team!

Yesterday we visited one of the local "Mudmen" tribes, whose inhabitants decorate themselves with clay and wear huge clay masks. Afterwards, we checked into a hotel, where a celebratory dinner and awards ceremony awaited us that evening.

All participants were awarded certificates and medals for their ascent of Giluwe.

Over these six days, we lived a unique life filled with humor, mutual support, help, understanding, and, of course, exciting adventures. Nine completely different people, each unique, gathered on the other side of the planet and over the course of a week became a true team.

The most important words that were spoken were: "7 Summits Club, you make people happy!"

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club group "Huli na Giluwe" was lucky again, this time with the weather on the trek to Giluwe Base Camp. ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19222/ September 19. Giluwe. The "Hulu na Giluwe" team completed the trek to Giluwe Volcano Base Camp. We arrived at the entrance to the national park early in the morning and set out at 7 a.m. Ahead of us lay 13 km of jungle trekking, then we entered the swamp zone.

The weather was excellent, which is rare in these parts! We reached Base Camp in five hours. We settled into our large, comfortable tents, had dinner, and played Mafia and Elias in the evening.

The team is fantastic and already very close-knit. We held an evening briefing, and tomorrow morning we set off for the mountain! Guides: Svetlana Kotlyar and Georgy Bushuev.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club group "Huli na Giluwe" was lucky enough to attend a festival of various Papuan tribes. But it's time to hit the mountains! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_19217/ Greetings from Papua New Guinea! Our team has been renamed "Huli na Giluwe" (the first word is the name of an indigenous people in Papua, by the way). Today was a day packed with cultural activities. After breakfast, we headed to Paya Village, where a tribal festival was taking place! About 10 different local tribes had gathered there today, each decorated in their own unique way: bright feathers, headdresses, and painted faces. They put on a real show with music and skits.

Afterwards, we tried the traditional dish "mumu"—pork baked with sweet potatoes in banana leaves in a pit. After lunch, we moved to Magic Mountain Lodge, had dinner, had an evening briefing, and decided on the next day's itinerary.

We're heading into the mountains in the morning! We're climbing Mount Giluwe! We'll be out of contact for almost two days, so don't lose us, wait for us!

After two days and four flights, the team of guides of the 7 Summits Club reached Papua New Guinea!

Today we went to a mountain lodge at an altitude of 2000 m, checked and prepared the equipment for the arrival of our group. In the evening we met with our partner, we were invited to Paya Village for a traditional dish Mu-mu (a pig baked with sweet potato in banana leaves in the ground). Today the locals prepared it in honor of tomorrow's big holiday - Independence Day of Papua New Guinea from Australia. This year is the 50th anniversary, the city is decorated with flags, the locals wear bright clothes in the colors of PNG, everyone is getting ready for the holiday.

And tomorrow we are already meeting the first participants of our program!

Today the "Descendants of Miklouho-Maclay" team in full force climbed to the top of the Giluwe volcano 4368m. We agreed with the weather, so the clouds passed us by, and we admired the views to our heart's content. We descended calmly, and the rain covered us only on the last, forested section of the descent to the road. At sunset, we tidied ourselves up in the lodge and exchanged impressions. Tomorrow is another final excursion day. And in the evening we celebrate: we hold an award ceremony for climbers of the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania.

The "Nepromakaemye" group continues the program in this picturesque country. Today we moved from Mount Hagen to Wilhelm Peak in the neighboring province. Stops to taste exotic fruits, local coffee and colorful landscapes pleasantly complemented our journey. The last hour and a half of the road to the village of Kegesugl were a real test, but we endured everything steadfastly. And our reward was accommodation in a magnificent lodge with a trout farm. Fatigue disappeared in an instant. Tomorrow we leave for the base camp under Wilhelm Peak. Guides Olga Rumyantseva and Valery Myasoedov.

The adventures continue ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18523/ Greetings from Papua New Guinea from the group Nepromokaemye! The program of stay on Giluwe has ended. It was fleeting, but very eventful. Yesterday we visited several villages of local tribes, each of which stands out with its unique outfits and rituals. Who wasn't there to scare or surprise their neighbors - ghouls with clay heads, walking skeletons, colorful characters who would be among the best even at the Brazilian carnival. A colorful and emotional spectacle!

In the evening, according to tradition, there was an award ceremony for all participants on Giluwe. Unfortunately, part of the group is leaving us, but most of them are staying and today they are moving under Wilhelm Peak. The second part of the program begins. So don't lose sight of us, we will let you know about ourselves. Guides Olga Rumyantseva and Valery Myasoedov.

<![CDATA[ On the second day of traveling through the country of the Papuans, the 7 Summits Club group got acquainted with the traditional life of the natives and, of course, ate MUMU ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18497/ Greetings from Papua New Guinea from the "Nepromokaemye" group! This is the name that came to our mind after two days without rain in an equatorial country. We hope that the ascent will also be unusual. That is, we wish for the same, without precipitation. The second day was active and informative. We visited a village of local residents, where we were received as dear guests and shown the best of Papuan traditions.

First, we were present at the laying of "mumu", a method of cooking meat and vegetables using hot stones and all sorts of herbs and leaves. A long process, the stones are heated for a long time and then about 10 layers of different greens and meat are laid. It simmers for about three hours. While the dish was being prepared, a local folklore group arranged a picturesque performance for us, which could only be seen in the Travelers' Club before. Locals also gathered, but probably more to look at us. They also gave us a tour of the village with a description of the life and customs of the villagers. The meat was delicious. Everyone appreciated it, it was a somewhat labor-intensive process, and like real art it requires time and effort.

We would like to note our communication with local children, the gifts and sweets we brought dissolved in the children's abyss in 5 minutes. It turns out that, having learned about our visit, a whole school came running to the village. There was enough for everyone. A busy day! Towards evening we moved to spend the night in a lodge, from where tomorrow we will move downhill to the base camp.

<![CDATA[ A large group of the 7 Summits Club has gathered in the Papuan city of Mount Hagen and is preparing to climb the Giluwe volcano ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18491/ Greetings from Papua New Guinea! Today, on the first day of the program of the largest group of the season on Giluwe-Wilhelm, almost all the participants arrived in Mount Hagen and settled in the best hotel in the town "Highlander". Almost, because one participant was unlucky, his flight from Port Moresby was cancelled at the last moment, we hope that tomorrow, in the first half of the day, he will join us. The hotel is, in fact, very convenient and comfortable and is reliably protected by a high fence and security from the "raids" of the locals.

After a short rest, those who wanted to went to the local shopping center, some to buy a snack, some SIM cards, some fruit. Under the supervision of our partners, you feel quite confident and completely safe. After lunch, the participants' equipment was checked, and in the evening there was a traditional briefing and dinner, which lasted for three hours. The ascent to Giluwe, in itself, is not difficult, but nevertheless, there are many nuances. For example, almost the entire way you have to go in rubber boots because of the marshy areas and high humidity. Tomorrow we are moving in the direction of Giluwe, we will spend the night higher up in Magic Lodge. The name of the group is in development, we will definitely announce it tomorrow. Guides Olga Rumyantseva and Valery Myasoedov.

The guides arrived in Mount Hagen yesterday and today checked the equipment, bought food, discussed the program with the local team and some nuances, the most important one, so that they do not forget to prepare "mumu" for the second day. And what it is, you will find out from the news of the second day, we can reassure you that Gerasim has nothing to do with it. The weather, as usual at this time of year, is rainy, after all, it is the equator and the altitude is 1500 m in Mount Hagen. Glimpses of sunshine also happen, we hope we will be lucky. We are impatiently awaiting our landing party, tomorrow is the first day of the program, almost everyone is flying in on one morning flight. <![CDATA[ Summit! Boris Egorov and Artem Gurshteyn climbed Giluwe as part of the Seven Volcanoes speedrun program ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17969/ The 7 Summits Club guide Boris Egorov reports from Papua New Guinea:

The challenge from Alexander Abramov was accepted! In 8 hours, he and Ilya Gladkikh reached the top of Giluwe from the start of the trek. We were able to do it in 7! But we weren't really planning on racing. Our minimum program was to descend to civilization and take a shower that same day. To do this, we left the hotel at night to start the trek before dawn. But we only drove 10 minutes and ran into a blockage on the road, and a mudslide occurred. And we spent another hour driving around the back streets of Papua. In the end, we started walking with the first rays of the sun. Incredibly fast, in just 4 hours, we reached the base camp, from there we slowed down, lack of sleep was taking its toll. And we walked to the summit unhurriedly. We galloped back to the parking lot just before sunset and that same day we slept contentedly in our beds.

For Artem (Gurshteyn), this is already the third summit in his project "7 volcanoes in 69 days"!

Then we rush to Kilimanjaro!

Today in Port Moresby we met a competing company. Borya and Artem, who want to beat our speed record on Giluwe tomorrow. Good luck, guys! Alexander Abramov and Ilya Gdadkikh.

Many foreign guides have already congratulated us on the new world speed record. 5 volcanoes on 5 continents in 27 days! Thank you, friends!

SENSATION!!! The 7 Volcanoes in 77 Days team decided to "re-climb" the first mountains: Elbrus, Damavand, Kilimanjaro.... To shorten the project time!

<![CDATA[ Summit! The 7 Summits Club group "Team A" successfully climbed Wilhelm Peak, the main peak in Papua New Guinea ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17797/ "Team A" is at the top of the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea - Wilhelm Peak 4509 m! Yesterday we walked a very picturesque trek to the Wilhelm Peak base camp, which is located at an altitude of 3600 m. The route went through the jungle, green valleys and waterfalls - at some point it seemed to us that we were in "Jurassic Park".

Three hours later we found ourselves on the shore of a beautiful lake, where our base camp was located. In the evening we rested and at 01:00 at night we set out to climb. The route to the summit took about 6 hours. It was a little windy and quite cool, and the weather and nature are very different from the region where Giluwe is located. We saw a very beautiful sunrise, saw the Giluwe peak from afar, where we stood literally 4 days ago, and at 7 am we were already standing at the top of Wilhelm Peak!

All the participants liked both the trek and the ascent; without this mountain our adventure would definitely be incomplete!

We are at Betty Lodge - the best place on the island ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17794/ October 6. The adventures of "Team A" continue! Today we set off towards Mount Wilhelm. The road to Kegesugl took about 5 hours, but it passed through very picturesque places! High green hills, mountain rivers and villages scattered around.

By lunchtime we arrived at Betty Lodge, which is located at an altitude of 2800 m, where we were greeted very warmly! The locals put on a real show with traditional dances. It is incredibly green and beautiful here - after the gray and rather dirty Mount Hagen, it is simply a joy to the eye. The lodge is new, everything here is homely and cozy and made with love: large rooms, a cozy dining room with a fireplace and delicious food!

There is a trout farm on the territory: more than 55 thousand trout are grown here! This fish is supplied to all of PNG.

For dinner there were a lot of vegetables and fruits grown on the farm and of course the freshest trout and very tasty local coffee.

Tomorrow we are heading to the base camp of Mount Wilhelm, we will be without communication for two days.

<![CDATA[ Diary of the expedition to Papua New Guinea by the 7 Summits Club team "Group A". October 5. We are finishing the first stage ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17790/ October 5. That day we returned to civilization to our Highlander hotel! How nice it would be to take a hot shower and find ourselves in the warmth after all our adventures and trekking through the swamps under pouring rain!

In the afternoon we visited two local tribes. The first is the Mudmen. Their bodies were decorated with clay, and on their heads were huge clay masks, weighing at least 10 kg. According to legend, they were defeated by an enemy tribe and were forced to flee to the Asaro River. Before trying to escape, they waited until dusk. The enemies saw them rising from the dirty banks, covered in mud, thought they were spirits and fled in fear.

The second tribe is Huli Wig. They decorate their faces with traditional Papuan flowers and wear headdresses ... made from their own hair and the feathers of the bird of paradise, which is the symbol of the country.

In the evening, a festive dinner was held, at which the participants received the coveted medals and certificates for the ascent. They recalled the brightest moments and shared impressions. For some of the group, the program ends, and they return home. Well, a new adventure awaits us with the second half of the group - climbing the highest mountain in the country - Wilhelm Peak!

<![CDATA[ Diary of the ascent on the summit of Giluwe by the 7 Summits Club team "Group A". October 4 ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17788/ It rained almost the entire night before the ascent and there was a strong wind. Due to the weather, it was decided to postpone the start an hour later. At 4.30 in the morning we had breakfast, filled up the thermoses and left the camp at 5.00.

The first part of the route also passed through swampy terrain. By dawn, we reached the ridge, from where a stunning view of the top of Giluwe opened up, painted in the warm rays of dawn.

The ascent itself is not technically difficult. However, the last part of the route is a rocky section where belay is required. At one time, our leader Alexander Abramov equipped this section with bolts. We divided into two groups and continued the ascent.

At 8.30 in the morning, our "Team A" in full force stood on the top of the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania! Great weather and magnificent views from the summit!

Everyone was happy! For many participants, this volcano has already become the 4th, 5th and even 6th of the "7 Volcanoes" project.

The ascent did not seem easy to anyone. The rocky section is quite slippery, you need to be on guard all the time so as not to slip, which once again proves that there are no easy mountains!

<![CDATA[ Diary of the ascent on the summit of Giluwe by the team of the 7 Summits Club "Group A". October 3 ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17784/ October 3. At 5 am we left for the gates of the national park. In the morning there was good visibility and while we were driving we were surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes. An hour and a half later we arrived at the beginning of the route. Here we changed into rubber boots, porters took our bags, and we went trekking.

The hike to the camp is 12 km and about 6 hours in time. The first part of the route is a real jungle: tall trees, ferns and mosses. Then the path goes along the river, underfoot there is grass and marshy soil. That's why we wear rubber boots, without them there is nowhere.

At the foot of the mountain we have a real base camp: large comfortable tents, toilets, this season we brought a dining tent and tables. The 7 Summits Club created the maximum possible comfort for the participants in such conditions!

After lunch, we discussed the ascent plan, practiced walking in ropes and working with equipment.

Group guides: Alexander Dorojukov and Svetlana Kotlyar.

<![CDATA[ The 7 Summits Club Team "Group A" has moved to the mountain lodge, the starting point of the ascent on Giluwe ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17775/ Hello to everyone from the "Group A" team! We continue our journey through the exotic country of Papua New Guinea!

This morning we checked out of the hotel and stopped at a very colorful local market for fruit. The locals greeted us very joyfully - they smiled, waved their hands and most importantly - everyone was smiling!

Then we drove towards our mountain lodge, stopping at Paya Village on the way. The villagers told us about their customs and traditions, treated us to a traditional dish "mumu" - this is meat baked in an earthen pit, lined with hot stones and coals and wrapped in banana leaves. And while we were waiting for lunch, the Papuans put on a performance with songs and dances for us.

After that, we drove to the place of overnight stay and checked into the Mountain Lodge. Now we are already at an altitude of 2400 m. In the evening at dinner we will discuss the plan for tomorrow, in the morning we move towards Giluwe! There will be no connection for the next 2 days, do not lose us and wait for greetings from the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania!

<![CDATA[ A large group of the 7 Summits Club arrived in Papua New Guinea to climb the Giluwe and Wilhelm Peak ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17772/ Hello from Papua New Guinea from the "Group A" team! Today we met all the participants of our program at the Port Moresby airport. Before boarding the domestic flight, some participants even managed to swim in the Coral Sea - when else would there be such an opportunity? Then we flew to Mount Hagen, where our program of climbing the Giluwe volcano and Wilhelm Peak will begin. We checked into the Highlander hotel with a beautiful green area, bought the necessary products for the mountain. And in the evening there was a welcome dinner, where all the participants (and there are 13 of us!) met and told about themselves. It is nice to watch how people who are still strangers to each other in the morning, by the evening begin to actively communicate, laugh and become a team.

<![CDATA[ 99 DAYS! Alex Abramov's new plan to set a record for the speed of completing the "Seven Volcanoes" program ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17664/ The President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov has adjusted the previously announced project "Seven Volcanoes in Seven Months". Indeed, if a record is to be set, it should be extreme, at least in its part. Seven months is too easy, it can be halved!

Alexander Abramov plans to climb the highest volcanoes on all continents in less than 100 days. This will be "Project 99". On October 1, Alexander sets off with a group to climb the Giluwe volcano (Australian continent). And he intends to finish on the Antarctic mountain Mount Sidley in early January 2025.

Good luck, Ñaptain!

You can join our leader and take part in a real world record. There are places in almost all groups. And if there is no group, you can join our hero as a fan.

October 1-6. Alex Abramov will lead the 7 Summits Club group to climb Giluwe volcano.

On October 10, Moscow will host an Evening dedicated to the 7 Summits Club's birthday. The President's presence is mandatory.

October 12-13. These days are set aside for climbing Elbrus. The logistics are still unclear. Most likely, there will be an attempt at climbing SUPER BLITZ - 24 hours from the airport and back.

October 17-24. Damavand volcano, it is still unclear what program can be agreed upon with the Iranian host.

November 1-8. The highest volcano in Africa - Kilimanjaro. The 7 Summits Club group climbs the Marangu route.

NEXT - An emergency flight to Mexico. Alexander catches up with the SUPER GIRLS project group

November 7-16. Climbing Orizaba volcano according to the SUPER GIRLS project program!

December 10-24. The first group of the 7 Summits Club season on Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano in the world.

December 27, 2024 - January 10, 2024. New Year in Antarctica. Climbing Mount Sidley.

With ideal completion of all routes, it will take about 95 days from the first summit to the final one.

Alexander Abramov can safely be called the "godfather" of the Seven Volcanoes program. It was the president of the 7 Summits Club who conceived, and our company carried out, the historic 2011 expedition on Mount Sidley. Since the scientific discovery of this highest volcano in Antarctica, no one had been there. As a result of the 2011 ascent, the first people to climb all seven volcanoes appeared. These were the participants of our expedition, the experienced Italian climber Mario Trimeri and the 16-year-old Romanian girl Crina (Coco) Popescu. And this was the real start of the "Seven Volcanoes" program. Russia, represented by our company, is the world leader in the number of climbers who have climbed all seven volcanoes of the project. At the moment, out of 46 who have completed the project, 14 represent our country. There is something to be proud of!

The most important historical photo of the "Seven Volcanoes" project. 2011, at the top of Sidley are standing the expedition leader Alexander Abramov and the first people to climb all "seven volcanoes" Mario and Coco.

On the last day of the trip to Papua New Guinea, the Sun Shine group visited three villages, where we looked at various outfits and dances of the inhabitants of Papua.

Of course, none of them walk like that now, but they preserve traditions, passing on legends and related dances from generation to generation.

And in the evening, all the climbers on Giluwe received well-deserved awards - diplomas and medals.

<![CDATA[ Summit! The group of the 7 Summits Club "Sun Shine" ascended the Giluwe volcano. And the sun was shining! ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17192/ This simply does not happen on the Giluve volcano! So that during the two days of approach and ascent we never put on raincoats. On the first day, we reached the base camp by a rapid march through the jungles and swamps. In the evening, we worked out the movement in ropes, simultaneously learning how to knit the necessary knots. And the very next day our group "Sun Shine" fully justified its name. Dressed only in longsleeves, under the sun, we admired the views from the top of the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania!

The ascent was wonderful, everyone worked smoothly, and the ropes did not slow down the progress. We quickly went down to the camp, packed up our things and ran to the bus, which took us, satisfied, to the shower and bed.

The gala evening with the presentation of medals is scheduled for the next day. But now we sincerely congratulate the team from Uzbekistan, the members in our expedition became the first representatives of their country at the summit of Giluwe! And, of course, Andrey Kravchenko, who completed the Seven Volcanoes program! Hurrah!

<![CDATA[ The second group of climbers on the Giluwe volcano met with the guides of the 7 Summits Club in the city of Mount Hagen on the island of New Guinea ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17181/ Olga Rumyantseva, a guide of the 7 Summits Club, reports from Papua New Guinea:

Hello everyone from Papua New Guinea! Yesterday, the second group of those wishing to climb the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania, Giluwe, began to gather in the city of Mount Hagen.

Due to transportation problems, not all participants were able to arrive on time. But this morning the whole group got together, and we went on an adventure.

To begin with, we visited the village of Playa, where we got acquainted with local customs. We watched how food was prepared in a way called MU-MU - sweet potatoes, herbs and meat were baked in a pit using red-hot stones.

Then we talked with the locals, watched the national dances and costumes of this village. We got acquainted with the leader and his wives, looked at the place where the skulls of previous leaders are kept.

After this interesting and informative excursion, after tasting the meat already cooked on the rocks, we went to the lodge, from where we will go climbing tomorrow morning.

Olga Rumyantseva, Boris Egorov, Maria Besogonova and the Sun Shine group are in touch with you.

<![CDATA[ Summit! The group of the 7 Summits Club has completed the adventure program on the island of New Guinea. Ascent on the highest peak of Papua New Guinea, Mount William ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17158/ Hello everyone from Papua! From a completely unnamed, but very good group, and your guides Boris Egorov and Olga Rumyantseva. Yesterday, our group in full force made an ascent on the highest point of Papua New Guinea, Mount Wilhelm.

Two days before, after a short move, we found ourselves in a paradise called Betty's Lodge, where we spent half a day among flowers, visited a trout farm and tasted fresh fish. The next day we moved to the base camp, making a trek through the picturesque jungle. This beautiful region pleased us not only with the already familiar views of jungles and swamps, but also with the most beautiful powerful waterfalls and mountain lakes, in which the most cheerful adventurers swam both before and after the ascent.

The ascent itself turned out to be quite a physically hard event with elements of rock climbing and acrobatics. It was very difficult, but we all coped. Such an adventure will be remembered by everyone for a long time.

In the evening we returned to our beautiful lodge. Today our group returns to Mount Hagen, from where our members will fly home tomorrow.

<![CDATA[ The group of the 7 Summits Club moved to another part of the island of New Guinea, to the foot of the highest peak in the country of PNG ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17134/ Greetings from distant Papuasia! Today, our large friendly company was forced to split up, some of the participants went towards home. But the other half continued their journey through this wild island. After spending several hours on the road, jumping on bumps and placing a decent amount of dirt, we found ourselves in a heavenly place, in a lodge under Mount Willhelm. We were greeted as the most honored guests! Mistress Betty couldn't hold back her tears, we managed to become friends last year, when I spent a lot of time on her property. Here we were waiting for a great service, which you absolutely do not expect in this remote part of the world. A huge number of flowers, paths strewn with hydrangea petals, a new lodge where each participant got a personal room, delicious trout from his own farm! I don't even want to go to the mountain tomorrow. But of course we will go. First, we will have a few hours of walk to the base camp and swimming in a clear lake.

Last night, very tired, but completely happy, we descended from the summit of Giluwe.

And today we went for new impressions. We visited three different villages, where we were shown a variety of dances and costumes. Of course, people in these villages don't dress like that now. They prefer ordinary clothes. But nevertheless, they preserve traditions, showing tourists picturesque outfits and telling various legends.

And in the evening we had a farewell dinner and the distribution of medals for climbing the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania. Half of the group will fly home tomorrow. The second half of the adventure will continue. We will go to the highest mountain in PNG.

<![CDATA[ The whole group of the 7 Summits Club is assembled. The first day in Papua New Guinea was devoted to getting acquainted with local life and traditions ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_17101/ Greetings from Papua New Guinea (PNG)! The guides Boris Egorov and Olga Rumyantseva are in touch. Today, our group spent almost the whole day in the village of Paya, where we got acquainted with the locals and their traditions.

The visit to the village began with a pig cooking ceremony. A pig in PNG is a great value, which is prepared only for special occasions. For example, for a wedding. Well, or if tourists come. The pig is being prepared very slowly. First, it is burned and cleaned, then cut up, then wrapped in banana leaves. Sweet potatoes and bananas are also put there, as well as various herbs. After that, everything is wrapped in leaves again and laid with red-hot stones. And leave to bake for several hours.

While some watched the pig cooking, others got to know the villagers, talked about the place where we came from, asked questions about life in PNG, took pictures, watched the local strange animals - a tree kangaroo and a cougar bird.

The locals dressed up in traditional costumes and prepared a program for us - they sang, we danced and took pictures. Actually, many tourists go to PNG for such colorful photos.

But that's not all we're after. Tomorrow we will embark on our journey to the top of Giluwe, the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania.

During a short tour of the village, we were told about ancient customs, about how people used to live and showed artifacts of bygone days. Shields, spears, magical figurines and the skulls of dead chieftains. It was a tradition to preserve the skulls so that the leaders would help their community even after death. They gave her wisdom.

In general, the day turned out to be eventful and interesting. We moved from the village to the mountains, from where, after spending the night at the lodge, we will go to the beginning of trekking tomorrow.

To be precise, it officially starts tomorrow. But today, having made a difficult journey through half the world, which took us three days and three nights, after resting from the road, we began to prepare the expedition - we checked the camping equipment and bought a lot of delicious food.

Today, those participants who want to recover after a long road for one day, and not immediately embark on all adventures, began to fly to us.

There are a lot of adventures waiting for us. Our large group of 17 people, there have not been such groups in Papua yet, will go to the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania, Giluwe. After that, part of the group will fly home, and some will continue the program and go to the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea - Wilhelm Peak.

Tomorrow we will continue to meet the participants and get acquainted with the flavor of this unusual country.

<![CDATA[ The group of the 7 Summits Club "I love PNG" visited three Papuan villages at once during the day, which have their own, original traditions ]]> http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_16510/ Nikita Slotin, a guide of the 7 Summits Club, reports from Papua New Guinea:

Greetings to all from Papua New Guinea from the group "I love PNG"! Today we had a busy day! We visited three local tribes at once. The history of the masked tribe is like this... Many, many years ago, this tribe began to be terrorized by other, larger tribes. And to protect themselves, they came up with the idea of dressing up as spirits, murdered tribesmen and scaring the invaders! Since then, they have kept these traditions and tell visitors about them. The second peace-loving tribe, who settled here about 100 years ago, dresses up in the feathers of the bird of paradise, which is depicted on the flag of the country. The third tribe, painted in the dead, symbolizes the connection with the ancestors, whom they buried openly across the river, without graves. The bones are still there. So they keep in touch with them. Tomorrow we plan to move to the lodge for climbing Wilhelm Peak.
