As well as Mount Elbrus - Kazbek is a volcano. Climbing on Mount Kazbek is not technically difficult. Kazbek is located in the eastern part of the central Caucasus, on the border between Russia and Georgia.
The first ascent of Kazbek was committed in the 19 century - in 1868 by D. Freshfield.
Mount Kazbek array consists of two peaks: Kazbek East (5033 meters) and Kazbek West (5015 meters). With the Kazbek massif in all directions down the powerful and heavily broken icefall.
There is beautifull view from the summit of Kazbek - panorama of Central and Eastern Caucasus. In the west, in clear weather you can see another volcano, a giant of the Caucasus - Elbrus (5642 m).

You entrust your life, health, your time and money to the guides. And the guides take this responsibility for you and for the success of the whole trip. They are doing this 24 hours. 10-20 USD per day is expected as the normal amount of tips for the Guides and the staff of the program. If you liked everything about the trip, please don't forget to thank them. You can give the tips directly to the Main Guide and he will distribute it among the staff.

Health and medical insurance
Health-care on the mountain is limited to the first-aid kit the guide carries. Down in the valley in case of serious health problems the local hospital and your insurance policy are to take over. Your policy must cover climbing to 6000m .
Weather
As on any high mountain a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures should be expected: from freezing-cold nights (down to -5-10ºC), to sizzling hot noons if still and sunny (especially on snow); from a delicious calm under a blue sky to a hurricane slashing your face like a whip. The higher you go, the harsher the conditions. So, the range of your clothes and footwear must comply with any of such turns. For details see our gear list.

Heavy-weight fleece / pile jacket
