The Guide of the 7 Summits Club Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Tehran! The new group of the 7 Summits Club has begun to realize its goal, climbing Damavand. The band quickly acquired the name "Persian Cat", which we associate ... no, not with what you thought... look at the map of Iran, does it look like a cat with ears? ... Our dear Mariam told us this on a sightseeing tour. After lunch in a traditional Iranian restaurant, we visited the Golestan Palace. For the guides, this is an ordinary visit, we have seen it all many times, but for our dear participants, it is an immersion in the culture and traditions of Persia during the dynasties of several generations of Shahs. The palace is one of the symbols of the Iranian capital, and only after visiting it, you can say that, undoubtedly, it deserves such an attitude. In the evening, a welcome dinner was held in the Milod Tower, in the restaurant of another symbol of Iran. There was a closer acquaintance with each other in an informal setting. And today the acclimatization part of the program begins, we go up to the alpine hotel Tochal.

So, as a final preparation, our small team spent the night in the Llaca Valley in a shelter at an altitude of 4500 meters. The next morning we climbed a multi-pitch with a pleasant climbing on a granite wall. The whole route was led by our friend Alexey! We moved very quickly and smoothly. It's good when the team is solidary and we already understand each other half a word. Unfortunately, when we went down and got in touch, the news came that blocked the road to our main goal, Mount Sphinx. And now we can only wait and hope that the blockage will be cleared and we will be able to make the ascent. While we are resting, we are thinking about a backup plan, for example, to go another fivethousander, trample the snow with crampons.

Greetings from Iran! Yesterday, on August 29, the Children of Arbat group made a successful ascent to the top of Damavand! Dry, clear, but windy weather accompanied us throughout the ascent. And on the approach to the summit and the very summit, the wind intensified even more. The decision to leave early at morning was the right one. In clear weather, there was a magnificent panorama of the valley at the foot of Damavand, breathtaking! Special mention should be made of our participant Natalia, who at the age of 17 walks well up and feels confident on the descent. Now we are already in Tehran, enjoying a rest, a gala dinner and an award ceremony in the evening, and before it a visit to the hammam with a restorative massage. Deserved it!

The weather on the mountain is fine for several days, you need to walk and climb. Which we did. We walked compactly, we were all together at the top.  That's just the plan to escape down to Kazbegi that same day failed, the mountain left no strength. Tomorrow we will go down and celebrate our success.

The preparatory part of the program continued in an amazing place! At an altitude of 4300m, the Khatun Machai rock climbing zone "stone forest" is located, an incredible variety of terrain and lines for climbing. But we agreed that it doesn't look much like a forest, rather like some kind of animal park, where every stone can be imagined alive, or sculptures given. Perhaps, at the moment, this is the highest mountain region where we were engaged in rock climbing. And the most fantastic. But it is not easy to move actively at such a height. The difficulty doubles. We continue to get used to the height. There are plans to move to 4500 in order to spend the night at altitude and also climb, but already a long route of five ropes.

The guide of the 7 Summits Club Valery Myasoedov reports from Iran:

Greetings from Iran! The Children of Arbat group has reached the final stage of the Damavand climbing program. We are going to storm early tomorrow morning.  The weather is windy, especially the wind increases by the middle of the day, so we are planning a slightly earlier start than usual. The day before, before climbing from the Mosque to the camp at 4,200 m, we interviewed a local aksakal, the respected Uncle Hassan. He always helps us with the transfer from Larijan to the Mosque in his old jeep, and at 65 he radiates inexhaustible optimism. Then, at a good pace, we went up to the camp and settled in the best "apartments".  Then the culinary masterpieces from our chef Marjon began, which we never stop marveling at: baked chicken, stuffed fish, salad bar... The participants unanimously celebrate the excellent service on the mountain from our partners. After such care and such an organization, tomorrow we have no right to let anyone down.

Two days of travel and we finally reached the mountains. Now we are in the town of Huaraz in northern Peru. The active phase of the program has begun. Today was already the first training session on the rocks on the outskirts of the city. We didn't climb anything  difficult, but the task is different: to disperse the blood and get used to the loads at altitude. Today we climbed at an altitude of 3000, and tomorrow we will visit a very interesting and beautiful place where we will continue to warm up, but already at an altitude of more than 4000 meters.

Salam from Iran!  Our journey through Persia is coming to an end. Today, the group of "16 happy Persian Lions" of the 7 Summits Club spent the whole day in Isfahan. First, we familiarized ourselves with the Bazaar, the area of which occupies the 2-nd place in the world! Then we visited the mosques of Imam and Sheikh Lotfolla. We visited the four-hundred-year-old Chehel Palace and saw ancient bridges that are more than 500 years old!

We had lunch in an antique restaurant and visited the Armenian quarter with its Christian temple. There are a lot of emotions and impressions, I can't tell you… Everyone is in cultural shock! Our guide Aida is just an encyclopedia of Persia and the East!

In the evening there was time for a "souvenir looting of the Bazaar". The locals are very friendly to the Russians!

Greetings from Iran! The Children of Arbat group continued the acclimatization program on the third day, because altitude drop and rest are also part of acclimatization, aren't it? In the morning we left the cozy Tochal Hotel and took a cable car down from 3500 m to 1700 m to hot Tehran. Then we headed towards Damavand and on the way stopped for lunch at the Adam and Eve restaurant, which has become everyone's favorite. About what delicious kebabs and kebabs there are, it's already time to write a laudatory ode to one of the local poets. Details in the video. Then there was obtaining permits at the House of the Iranian Mountaineering Federation in Polur, a traditional photo against the background of the Damavand map and a brief introduction to the climbing routes, of which there are as many as 16. The most popular is the route from the south, which we always go. Our day trip to Larijan ended, there was time to plunge into the hot springs, and lie in the hotel for a couple of hours, and in the evening for dinner again kebabs of 5 types. The rested and strengthened, "Children of Arbat" are eager to fight, and tomorrow they will have the opportunity to prove themselves - we climb to the camp at 4200 m.

Greetings from Iran! On the second day, the "Children of Arbat" began the acclimatization part of the program. Without fuss and haste, "yavosh-yavosh", as they say here, we went up by cable car to the alpine hotel "Tochal" at an altitude of 3500 m. They passed a mandatory medical examination and settled in. We had lunch with delicious chicken kebab, let's say, as an introduction to the basics of Iranian cuisine, where a wide variety of kebabs prevail. After lunch, we rested, went for a walk to the summit of Tochal. Again, slowly, at a calm pace, we went to the top, spent half an hour there, and slightly tired, but satisfied, returned to the hotel. I think that a hot shower and a soft bed at 3500 m will make our acclimatization even more comfortable. Tomorrow we will move to Larijan, a village with hot springs and authentic kebab.

The Omatikayi group made an attempt to climb to the top of Khan Tengri on August 22. As the weather worsened (snowfall and strong wind), the only right decision was made to turn around and go down to the assault Camp -3.

If we had stayed on the slopes for another couple of hours, we would have been hit by a squall wind that tore us off our feet. After the descent, the wind continued all night. Tents were torn. There was enlightenment in the morning, but the strong wind continued.

On August 23, there was a long and dangerous descent down through the so-called "bottleneck". The clouds did not allow us to see those terrible snow eaves that hung over us. A couple of hours and we exhaled, went down to a flat glacier. And then we walked 10 km along the glacier to the base camp on South. And there, finally, delicious food, a warm bed and a view of the beautiful Peak Pobeda (Victory)!!!

On August 24, departure to Karkara and transfer to Bishkek.

Continuation of the Peruvian adventures. Our small friendly company today continued to explore the legacy of the Inca Empire.  At the same time, we finally managed to disperse the blood. We ran down to the mountain of Huayna Picchu 2667m. The ascent took us only half an hour, although the trail goes up the steps steeply. Perhaps we could have done it faster, but we had to carefully overtake other tourists and, of course, we took a lot of photos. From the top there is a gorgeous view of the entire Machu Picchu complex. Then the day passed quietly in the village, where we had to wait for the evening train. And already on the way back, right in the carriage, they arranged a small performance with dancing and a fashion show, alpaca wool products. Tomorrow, according to the plan, a new climb, we are going to admire the rainbow mountains.
