A year ago, I learned about the 7 Summits Club, which at that time announced the "Super Girls" project. This is a signature project by Alexander Abramov, a 12-time Everest summiter. The project was specifically adapted for women and included several peaks, plus Mt. Elbrus. By the way, Alexandr Abramov himself has climbed it 101 times. So without a hesitation, I confirmed my participation in the climbing expedition of Mt. Elbrus. And in August of this year, a group of nine girls successfully reached the highest point in Europe — Mount Elbrus 5,642 meters. We are very grateful to our amazing guides, who helped us fulfill our dream.
In August 2024, my dream came true! I went on a climbing expedition to Mt. Demavand with the legendary Alexander Abramov. I was so nervous before meeting him. I’m not the most athletic person and expected harsh criticism of my physical preparation, but I was so wrong!
Professionalism, support, safety, an amazing group atmosphere, and humor – that’s Alexander Abramov. With him, you can embark on any climb without a hesitation.
Each mountain journey for me feels like a little life filled with joy and warm memories. The 7 Summits Club takes care of all the logistics so that you can fully enjoy the mountain and everything around you. During our Demavand expedition, we were provided with very comfortable accommodations throughout the route: sightseeing tours, unique hotels, delicious food, and even hot springs. And at the camps, I was so amazed how our chefs could manage to cook super delicious meals at high altitude and in such a small kitchen. It still remains a mystery for me.
The ascent to Demavand is accessible to any healthy person, even without prior climbing experience. The most challenging moments for me were the transition to the Bargah Sevom camp (at 4,150 meters) and summit day. I believe I wasn’t the only one feeling the difficulty, as the altitude was significant and the treks between camps were long. But the acclimatization process was so well-planned that neither I nor any other team members experienced high altitude sickness.
Yes, Demavand, as a volcano, has no vegetation and can be dusty, but in my opinion, it’s a magnificent mountain, well worth experiencing and touching its summit.
Hello everyone! Alex Abramov is a strong and skilled master of his craft and, just as importantly, a wonderful person. Climbing Everest under his leadership was an exciting, captivating, and unforgettable adventure. Now, three years later (Everest 2007), we truly appreciate the excellence and the skill level he demonstrated. He is indeed a maestro of his profession. Hats off to you, Alexander Viktorovich!
With respect,
The Everest-2007 climbing team.
