Boris Egorov and Alexey Sivkov started their journey to the summit of Ama Dablam. First stop - Kathmandu
The 7 Summits Club Guide Boris Egorov reports from Nepal:
Alexey and I finally got to Nepal! We set our sights on the most beautiful mountain in the world - Ama Dablam. I am probably the last 7 Summits Club guide who has not been here before. And we like it here! Friendly people and decent food. Today we had a city tour of the main attractions and holy places of Kathmandu. We visited the largest and one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, the central square and many temples. We watched the ceremonial burning of the dead and how children nearby jumped from a high bridge into a small river. We saw a lot, but we were a little tired of the smell of sewage. And after lunch, having rested a bit in our clean hotel, we reached the climbing wall, it is very close to us. Of course, we couldn't miss the opportunity to get our blood pumping and give our fingers a little exercise before a long break! And we had fun climbing with local Nepalese climbers on the holds. And now we are completely ready for the adventure to begin. Tomorrow, according to the plan, at dawn, we fly by helicopter to Lukla. I hope everything goes without delays.
