Anastasia Kuznetsova: news from Iran, a lot of them and they are endless. Now I want to say only that the group was on top of the highest volcano of Asia Damavand in full. All alive, healthy and happy. After the descent we had a rich program with sauna, visit the local Bazaar and dinner in an excellent panoramic restaurant on the TV tower of Tehran.
In general, Iran is a very friendly and diverse place. And it is waiting for us! Today, unfortunately, the whole group is almost gone (dare I say that we were good together). Today, the remaining participants will have to review all the fun in the ancient city of Isfahan and tomorrow for the flight home.

Anastasia Kuznetsova, guide of the 7 summits Club:
News from Iran. Today we moved from bustling Tehran in the peaceful mountains. We settled down in the shelter of the mountaineering Federation of Iran near the village of Polur, at an altitude of about 2200 meters. Above us hangs Damavand and beckons us to himself. The summit is now smoking, that is, the volcano lives. We have seen this with a dip in the hot springs in the neighboring village, which is located near geothermal hot springs.
In the evening we were waited by a dinner of traditional Iranian home-cooked meals. For example, the main dish was a stew of beans and 10 kinds of local herbs. Now we are ready to start tomorrow to the base camp of Damavand at the height of 4200 m.

Olga Rumyantseva, a guide of the 7 Summits Club:
Today our group climbed to Damavand. For half the participants, this was the first experience of climbing such high mountains. But, despite this, we have climbed in such rapid march. As quickly as I had not ascended to Demavent, with any other group. And still Vitaly Dubinin had a birthday today. This is how originally he decided to celebrate it.

Andrey Filkov completed his collection of climbing the highest volcanoes of the world. He made a successful ascent to the highest volcano of Asia Mount Demavend. We heartily congratulate him!
Our great friend, a member of the 7 Summits Club, fellow numerous expeditions, Andrey Filkov reached his next peak. It all started with a crazy idea - to climb Mount Everest a simple, sporty and wealthy man ... and went and went. Andrey - a serious and consistent man, a graduate as a physicist (!), a successful businessman. So he quickly learned how to behave in the mountains. His success is no surprise. Although we are still a bit surprised that Andrey over the years has become a real climber who goes beyond challenging routes program. And just as they say, from climbing motives.

The Seven volcanoes program is successfully completed by not so many people, six climbers. Except for one, all are ours, from the 7 Summits Club.
What do wish Andrey? New challenges, new horizons to be achieved, a new dream!

We (Igor and I) climbed the top twice - on Friday and Saturday. Andrey did not reached the summit on a Friday and we decided to accompany him on Saturday. In general, the ascent is quite simple - the guides told us that we could go without them, there is only one road, so that we went ourselves. In terms of organization, there have been some delays along the route, but still within a few slow "Eastern" the passage of time. We like a refuge – it is very comfortable. All: electricity, water, toilet - at the highest level. Guides, Miriam and Mohamed, pleasant to talk to, but not really sportive .... Hotel became lower class than expected (breakfast was so-so), but it's still Iran. We liked that the head of the agency, Ali invited us to dinner at his home on Sunday. Very warmly welcomed, treated, showed how the Iranians live at home, meet their friends. We thank him for it!
Group members: Igor Gorenko, Andrey Prozukin Konstantin Ryzhak, Konstantin Smirnov.

Kaspersky Lab sponsors new project to conquer 7 volcanoes on 7 continents.
Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, announces the start of an adventurous new project: the Kaspersky 7 Volcanoes Expedition. Renowned mountaineer Olga Rumyantseva will become the first woman to solo-ascend the Volcanic Seven Summits, the seven highest volcanoes across the continents, within one year.
Supported by Kaspersky Lab, Olga will solo-climb Mt. Sidley (Antarctica), Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), Mt. Giluwe (Papua New Guinea), Damavand (Iran), Elbrus (Russia), Pico de Orizaba (Mexico) and Ojos del Salado (Chile/Argentina). Summiting these volcanoes is considered one of the toughest mountaineering challenges in the world, and the fact that Olga will be the first in history to ascend them alone in less than 12 months merely adds to the challenge.
Although Olga is going to set a record, the expedition is more about testing the spirit and personal achievement. Olga commented: "This has been my dream for a long time. I'm an adventurer; I like to explore and do things that have never been done before. The difficulty of this challenge makes it even more interesting for me! I'm so grateful Kaspersky Lab has helped me turn this plan into reality, and given me the chance to fulfill my dream."
Kaspersky Lab CEO and co-founder Eugene Kaspersky said: "In our company, the notion of personal achievement, of the will to win is one of the most important. We believe one person can do a lot if he or she is truly committed to the goal and to the dream. People like Olga are real winners. She is capable of following her dream and moving forward no matter what obstacles are in her way. That's what unites us with Olga and I believe that her achievements will inspire our whole team around the world! We'll be following her progress closely throughout 2013."
The Kaspersky 7 Volcanoes Expedition started on 11 January 2013 with the ascent of the highest volcano in Antarctica: Mount Sidley with a summit elevation of 4,181-4,285 meters (13,717-14,058 ft.). It is a massive, mainly snow-covered shield volcano which is the highest and most imposing of the five volcanic mountains that comprise the Executive Committee Range of Marie Byrd Land .
The Kaspersky 7 Volcanoes Expedition is a new step for the brand in collaborating with the world's highly recognised explorers. At the beginning of 2012, with the support of Kaspersky Lab, British explorer Felicity Aston became the first woman in history to cross Antarctica alone, having set a new world record. Another expedition dating back to November 2009 saw the company sponsor the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antarctic Expedition. This project brought together women from Brunei, Cyprus, Ghana, India, Jamaica, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom who skied more than 900 km from the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole to mark the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth.

Hello! Today our team visited a very beautiful palace of Iran. Then we had dinner and drove in the direction of our mountain Tuchal 3990 m. Then began our climb to the hut. It it usually takes about 3-4 hours. But it was very hot, so we walk longer, about 5 hours, stayed often, but, in general, all climb, everyone is happy.
We came to the mountain hut. It is nice four floors shelter, almost the hotel. Here is the dining room, rooms, there are no beds, but on the floor are placed mattresses, blankets and pillows and all this on the Persian carpets that is all very cool.
Nearby there is a river, a waterfall. It is very beautiful place. All is very hospitable.
Tomorrow, we are planning the first in the history of our team of climbing a mountain Tuchal 3990 m. It is planned that we start about six in the morning and at 12 o'clock we have to be in the summit. Here we have such plans, everyone is happy, everything is fine. Tomorrow, hopefully from the summit, I call once again.

The program "Seven Volcanoes" is relatively young. American Amar Amdalkar posted great material about it on the pages of his excellent site skimountaineer.com. We, in the 7 Summits Club, rather uncritically copied the list and took it for granted. However, refinement began to appear. The first was Mount Giluve in Papua, as the highest volcano in Australia. And now it appeared quite clear that the highest volcano in Asia is in China, in the mountains of Kun-Lun. Ka-er-daxi is 5808 meters high.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kunlun Volcano is located in Tibet. The volcanic group contains 70 pyroclastic cones and basaltic lava flows. Ashi Shan volcano in the western end of the group is the youngest volcano in China (also known as Ka-er-daxi or Vulkan).
1951 Eruption
The eruption of Kunlun in 1951 was the most recent eruption in China. It was a central vent explosive eruption witnessed by road building workers.
The Kunlun Shan is a major mountain system of Asia, situated in China about halfway between the Himalayas and Tian Shan. It stretches one thousand miles, its snow-and-glacier-clad peaks rising abruptly along the north edge of the vast dry Tibetan plains.
The Kunlun Shan becomes progressively more narrow from east to west, and the narrow western section, just east of the Pamirs, is where the highest peaks are found, towering seventy five miles south of Kashi, the largest city in western Xinjiang Province, China. Near the center of the Kunlun Shan, a 500-mile northern branch called the Altun Tagh splits from the main range and extends northeast.
http://www.summitpost.org/vulkan-ka-er-daxi/464166
This peak is to the best of my knowledge, unclimbed. If it is and the Xinjiang Mountaineering Association decides to follow the rules strictly, the peak fee will be 4400-10255$US! The peak is very small compared to its neighbors and you may be lucky and not charged at all for climbing it. Sometimes you can climb peaks below 6000m with no charge.
