ROMAN REUTOV: It’s not a secret that this spring, we have organized an expedition to mount Everest from the North side, in conjunction with «7 Summits Club», «RD Studio», «RedFox» and «Yandex». The expedition was stopped in the middle, due to an earthquake magnitude of 8 – We were lucky that nobody from our Expedition was hurt. We were forced to evacuate. Despite this, we managed to create a panorama of a 19km route on the way from Base Camp (5100m) to Advanced Base Camp (6500m).
For the First Time everybody can pass this scenic mountainous route without exposing themselves to any danger.
Panoramas are published in advance of the film "Everest" coming out in cinemas on 24 September 2015.

A special page dedicated to panoramas is located at http://yandex.ru/promo/everest.

Hi! This is Vladimir Kotlyar, expedition to Island peak, now probably quoted. Because we finally thought about it and decided that we're not going  the Island Peak. In response to recent events we decided to stop our expedition ... We are now in Lukla (?) .... In the group all feel great. We are a little tired, it's the only thing we have.. Nothing to worry about. Just because we had to help in the evacuation of wounded people... (more unclear)

1. On Everest expedition from the North. Today our guide Noel Hanna called. He is now in the base camp with the second group. Today there was an aftershock in B.c... But that's okay. No one was hurt. The camp and the route are at a safe distance from a possible way of rockfalls and avalanches.

They decided not go in the middle camp as previously planned, to wait for the first group.
The first group with guides Alexander Abramov, Sergei Larin and Denis Provalov came out today from the camp at the altitude of 5800 meters into the camp of ABC at 6400 meters. They are also OK. Tomorrow they will descend back to the base camp.

2. The group of Vladimir Kotlyar on Island Peak today in Pheriche has assisted in evacuating of wounded from the base camp of Mount Everest. They have everything in order. Their journey will continue tomorrow

Explore a huge photograph showing Everest in extreme detail. What looks like litter might in fact be base camp, and what you think is a speck of dust could be a climber. Click the green boxes to zoom to a panoramic photo.

Ed Douglas. guardian.co.uk, Thursday 20 December 2012

Filmmaker and climate-change campaigner David Breashears spent this spring taking around 400 images of Everest and its near neighbours from a vantage point above base camp through a 300mm lens. Now he's released them digitally stitched together to form one image.

The result is a stunning panoramic photograph of the Everest region – with a twist. You can zoom in on specific areas and see the roof of the world in extraordinary detail. From a distance small colourful dots mark the location of base camp. Zooming in, you can pick out each tent clearly – and a man bending down as he washes his face.

The high definition also allows viewers to examine the mountain's icefall – and even pick out climbers descending between terrifying ice cliffs and crevasses. Think of it as an extreme, alpine version of Where's Wally.

Everest itself is the highest summit in the picture (just to the left of centre), a black pyramid towering above its paler western shoulder. Zooming in, you can see in detail the peak's famous yellow band - a section of interlayered marble, quartz and semi-schist. To the right of Everest, at the head of the western cwm, isLhotse, the fourth-highest mountain in the world, that rises up from the south col. Right again is Nuptse, the third peak in the Everest horseshoe. Like the western shoulder of Everest, the rock here is granite.

Curling from between Everest and Nuptse is the Khumbu glacier, a chaotic river of ice flowing downhill splitting into crevasses and ice cliffs. The route up Everest climbs up the left-hand side of this, and several climbers are visible on the thin trail that snakes up this dangerous section. To the left of the Khumbu glacier's lower section, the small colourful dots become the tents of base camp, giving an indication of just how popular climbing Everest is these days.

This fullscreen panorama was published in connection with the 50 year anniversary in May 2003, for the first who reached the top of Everest.

50 years ago May 29 1953 The top ofMount Everestwas reached for the first time by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

Since then 1.200-1.500 has climbed the top. Nobody knows the exact number. More than 140 climbers died on the way.

On May 24, 1989 the Australian photographer and mountaineer Roderick Mackenzie reached the summit. He was no 271 since 1953

He made which as far as I know is the only 360 degree panorama From the top.

Roderick Mackenzie made the image at the top ofMount EverestMay 24 1989. Below is in his own words his feelings of the event.

The unique event will take place in Moscow on November 8: All Everest summiters from ex-USSR will be together in one room.

"The Congress of the climbers" will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the first Soviet and the 20th anniversary of the first Russian ascents on Everest.

All climbers along the list of summiters are invited to participate. Beginning in 1982, and by 2012 more than 150 climbers from the former Soviet Union have climbed Mount Everest.

7 Summits Club acts as the lead partner in the Russian Mountaineering Federation organizing a meeting of climbers on Everest. It is no accident:

Alexander Abramov and 7 Summits Club had nine expeditions to Everest, starting in 2003. They all ended by reaching the summit. About 100 man/climbing accomplished it. So that members of our expeditions to Everest, the 7 Summits Club members will form a significant part of the invitees.

This event will be the official name is "Congress of the climbers." The exact time and the program will be announced later. But it is clear that it will be about historic climbs in 1982 and 1992, on the climb of the North Face and so on. Climbers will be awarded honorary by signs "Summiter of Mount Everest", there will show pi.

But "Congress" - is not only and not so much a meeting of sumiters, it is, above all, a meeting of climbers with the general public and the media.

We invite all members of the 7 Summits Club, all our friends, all who are interested in this topic!

Watch for information on our website.

"Congress climbers" take place on 8 November (Thursday) in the lecture hall of thePolytechnicMuseum

Moscow, New Square 3/4,
