  Nepal news, Day 1, April 29th. The EverChess 2024 team. Greetings to all from dusty Kathmandu! Here begins one of the most intriguing expeditions of this season, or maybe of the year, or maybe in general in history. The intrigue is that the Russian Chess Federation, with the support of the 7 Summits Club, is organizing an international chess tournament at an altitude of 5,300 m for the first time in history. It will take place at the Everest base camp, at the camp of the Everest expedition of the 7 Summits Club, where the high-altitude adaptation of the expedition participants is already underway.

The participants of the tournament will have to follow the classic trekking route to the Everest Base Camp in order to have time to adapt and get used to the altitude by the beginning of the tournament. The tournament itself is scheduled for May 8, 2024.

  Part of the group has already arrived and is resting after the flights, we will meet the rest of the participants tomorrow. But that's not all! Tomorrow, in addition to a tour of the ancient beauties of Kathmandu with an amazing guide Elena Trishankova and a welcome dinner, another significant event will take place. It will be a friendly match between the chess players of the Nepal Chess Federation and our chess players from Russia. The President of the Nepal Chess Federation has already come to us today to discuss the details. He wants to take part in the tournament personally!

In the meantime, our team is just going to Kathmandu and all the fun is still ahead!

Greetings from Koniyaki group from Nepal!  We arrived in Lukla today and started our trek. We got up at 4 a.m. to get on the first helicopter. The main team left at dawn. Then we had breakfast, got permits and moved up the beautiful valley towards our lodge. We had lunch and went to the monastery. We go to Namche Bazaar tomorrow.

Namaste from Nepal! Our group "SpeakegsY" reached Gorakshep. We went to the Everest base camp yesterday, and this morning we climbed Kala Pathar. Now a group is already in Lobuche.  Part of the group completed the program and went by helicopter to Lukla, and from there to Kathmandu.  The rest of the participants will climb into the assault camp of the Lobuche East tomorrow.

Namaste from Nepal! Another day of trekking, and another new altitude. Today, the group "SpeakegsY" reached the village of Lobuche, height 4900. On the way, we visited the memorial to the lost climbers on Everest and Ama-Dablam.  Tomorrow we go to Gorakshep, from where - to the Everest Base Camp.

Namaste from Nepal! Our group continues walking towards the Everest Base Camp.  In the morning we left Namche Bazaar and went to the village of Deboche. The path ran through rhododendron forests. The trail is very busy, along the way and a lot of tourists were moving up and down. Tomorrow we have to reach the village of Periche.

Namaste from Nepal!  Another day was spent by the group "SpeakegsY" in Namche Bazaar. The day was devoted to exploring the surroundings. First we went up to the Everest View Hotel, which offers a view of Everest. Then we went down to Kumjung, a village located near Namche Bazaar. Also in the local monastery they looked at the scalp of a yeti. Then we returned to our hotel in Namche Bazaar. Tomorrow we have a move to Deboche.

Greetings from Nepal! Today our super-group "Gornyashki" finished the program by climbing the Kala-Pathar mountain (5642m). A night out and a frosty morning gave us an unforgettable view of the majestic mountains Everest (8848), Lhotse (8516), Nuptse (7745), Ama Dablam (6814) and Pumori (7161). But there was one more bonus as a flight to Kathmandu by helicopter. Unforgettable views of mountainous Nepal accompanied us throughout the flight. See you in the mountains! Greetings from Nepal! Today our super-group "Gornyashki" made the move from Namche Bazaar (3400 m.) to Debuche (3740 m.) The march was filled with beautiful views. Also on the way we visited the Tengboche Monastery. Tomorrow we will go further along the route to Periche (4400m.). The guides of the group are Dmitry Semenov and Sergey Avtomonov.

 Greetings from Nepal! Today our super-group "Gornyashki" made an acclimatization rotation to the observation point near the Everest View alpine hotel (3880m.). We remember today with wonderful views.  We saw Everest and Ama Dablam. Tomorrow we will have a difficult march to our next loggia in the village of Deboche (3745m.) All Namaste from Nepal! This is the group “Crown" sends greetings to you. Yesterday we all gathered in Kathmandu, checked the equipment, walked through the local streets. And today we successfully flew by helicopter to Lukla and went on the route, reaching the village of Phakding. Today it was a warm-up day, tomorrow the main route will begin.

Greetings from Nepal! Our group "Gornyashki" went on the route to the Everest base camp. Today we arrived at the high-altitude Lukla airport and started our journey from there. After 3 hours we reached the village of Phakding (2600m), where we stayed in a comfortable lodge. Tomorrow is a busy and difficult day, going to Namche Bazaar.

Namaste from Nepal! From the group "Chronic climbers". Yesterday we returned to Kathmandu after our fun expedition. We flew away in time. An award ceremony was held in the evening. The program has come to a good conclusion.

Namaste from Nepal!  The group "Kumari of October", after visiting the Everest Base Camp and Khala Patar, set off on the way back to Lukla.  And successfully got to her.

Namaste from Nepal from the group "Chronic climbers", which goes to Island Peak! Today we moved to the village of Chukung. We are gradually getting closer to our one more goal. We came, settled in, and after lunch we conducted classes on ascent and descent with the help of jumars and abseil devices. In general, the day went great.

 Namaste from Nepal! Two of our groups, the climbing "Chronic climbers" (going to Island Peak) and the trekking "Kumari October" (Everest Base Camp) admired Everest in all its glory.  Today we climbed to the top of Kala Patar, in full force. The weather was gorgeous, the group was cheerful, well done!  We were rewarded with gorgeous views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountains.  Now we have already gone down to Dengboche, we are resting. Everything is OK!

Namaste from Nepal! Two of our groups, the climbing "Chronic climbers" (going to Island Peak) and the trekking "Kumari of October" (Everest Base Camp), reached the first goal. Today, in full force, we went to the Everest Base Camp! We walked well, the weather accompanies us in recent days is excellent, the condition of the team is stable. The landscapes are beautiful! In general, everything is fine.  Tomorrow we will get up early and go to Khala Pattar!

 Namaste from Nepal! Two of our groups continue their way to the foot of Mount Everest: the climbing "Chronic climbers" (goes to Island Peak) and the trekking "Kumari October" (Everest Base Camp). Today our gang-team with jokes got to our next village - Periche. The gorgeous weather favored us, Everest, Lhotse, Ama-Dablam opened, we walk well.
