News from Tanzania! Day 4 on Kilimanjaro. The 7 Summits Club  group passed the test and now we go further according to plan B. That is, we pass two transitions in a day, and spend the night in the camp of Barafu at 4600 m. Next, according to the plan, the transition to the camp of Kosovo at 4800 and the assault on the summit. We started today from Barranco Camp, one of the most beautiful in Kilimanjaro. At night at the foot the city of Moshi twinkled and the stars shone, and in the morning opened a view of the entire massive of Kilimanjaro. We were able to walk along the Barranco wall in good weather and as soon as we climbed the wall, it started to drizzle. Then we enjoyed the beauty of the Karangu Valley and in the late afternoon we went up to Barafu, which means "snow camp"in Swahili. Hello and warm hugs from sunny Tanzania!

Today it was one of the key days - the acclimatization ascent on the Lava Tower, 4600 m. In the morning, a rainbow appeared over the camp. As usual, we considered this a good sign. It was about 15 minutes, then the traditional rain began to fall, which accompanied the entire ascent and acclimatization on the Lava Tower. There, during lunch, we realized that we are higher than the second peak of Tanzania, Mount Meru (4550 m), higher than the highest peak in North Africa, Tubkal (4167 m) and comparable to the height of Mont Blanc. The descent also began in the rain, the road turned into a riverbed with many waterfalls and streams. But before entering the Baranko camp, fragments of the blue sky first appeared, and then the entire valley of insane beauty opened up as a reward for passing the stage. In the evening, at the Barranco camp at 3960 meters, we met the sunset, and at night at the foot of the Moshi lights shone and the stars shone. It was majestic! We've been waiting for this for so long!

Acclimatization takes place in the normal mode. In general, everything is fine.

Tomorrow we will have to overcome the 300-meter Barranco wall. We embrace everyone!

Anastasia Kuznetsova, a guide of the 7 Summits Club: News from Tanzania.  In the morning, we visited the most interesting place - the Macau Farm animal rehabilitation center. Wounded or stray animals are brought here, and they find their home and care here. We were present at the feeding of baby elephants and zebras.

And in the evening, our group gathered at the hotel. Equipment checked, backpacks stacked. Tomorrow we will start the ascent!  Kilimanjaro is waiting!

The guide of the 7 Summits Club Sergey Larin sent photos from today's successful ascent of the Siafu group on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Sergey Larin, a guide of the 7 Summits Club, from Tanzania:  News from Kilimanjaro. Today, 16.02, the group Siafu moved from Baranko camp 3950m directly to Barafu camp 4600m with lunch at Karangu camp 4000m. We left at 8: 15 and arrived at 16: 00. This decision was made to increase the level of acclimatization of the team. Since there were already two overnight stays at 4000. Tomorrow we plan to move to the Kosovo camp, which is only 260m higher. Almost a day of rest…

Sergey Larin,  the guide of the group from Tanzania: The “Siafu” team news. Today, February 15, we moved from Camp Shira to Camp Baranko 4000m, via Lava Tower (4600m). There was lunch on Lava Taur. And after lunch, it rained heavily again. We went down to the Baranko camp along the rain rivers.  The descent reminded me of Papua New Guinea at times. I couldn’t remember such rains on Kilimanjaro.  I've never been here during the rainy season, though. Kilimanjaro is covered in snow. If this goes on, you'll see that the glaciers will recover.

On February 13, the group of the 7 Summits Club "Siafu" began its route on Kilimanjaro. On the first day, the team climbed through the rain to the Machame camp at an altitude of 2900 meters. The next day, the group climbed to the Shira camp at an altitude of 3,900 meters. There our climbers were waiting for a comfortable camp and banners of our company. And a stunning sunset.

Sergey Larin, a guide of the 7 Summits Club:  The group of the 7 Summits Club "Siafu" climbed yesterday to the Machame camp at an altitude of 2900 m. It rained all day, which was according the forecast. And quite unusual for February. At this time of year, I don't remember it raining  from the morning. But the rain did not affect the mood of the group. I am also glad that there are only three people on the route besides us. Which is also unusual for the peak of season. Today, 14.02, we continue to move to the Shira camp at an altitude of 3900 meters.

Hello, 7 Summits Club. Today, our group arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport. We are planning to climb the highest peak in Africa by the Machame route. The group consists of 8 members plus Sergey Larin as a guide. Tomorrow we go on the route.

 The group of the 7 Summits Club "Gennaker" today climbed the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. We reached the highest point at a fairly fast pace. The weather was overcast, but the large size of the signs on the top made it impossible to pass by the top. We congratulate all the members of the ascent on this event in their lives!

Sergey Larin, guide of the 7 Summits Club, from Tanzania: Diary of the "The Northern Circuit" group of the 7 Summits Club. The seventh day - 10.01. We started out at midnight from the camp of School Hut. We were at the top from 7 to 8:30.  There was a heavy snowfall. All members reached the highest point, except for one person who did not go for health reasons.

Andrey Berezin, guide of the 7 Summits Club from Tanzania: News of the 7 Peaks Club group "Gennaker" from Kilimanjaro. Today we got acquainted with the capricious weather of Kilimanjaro. We were on our way to Shira camp (3900). An hour after entering the route, heavy rain began, sometimes with hail and thunderstorms. We have mobilized the forces that we did not spend yesterday, and the route that takes 6 hours was completed in 4 hours. We settled in comfortable tents, had a delicious lunch and are now recuperating for tomorrow. Group guide Andrey Berezin.

Lyudmila Korobeshko from Tanzania: Today the team of the 7 Summits Club climbed the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Due to a bad forecast on the night of January 9-10, we decided to go a day earlier. That is, we made two part of the route in one day before the assault. This made the task very difficult. But  from nine members, six  members reached the main peak!

January 7. Today, our group made a heroic trek from Camp Shira 3800 via Lava Tower 4650 to Camp Barranco 3950. This transition took about 9 hours and was not easy for our team. It's a good thing there wasn't a downpour like yesterday. But it was cold, windy, and foggy. The weather does not favor us yet. The most unpleasant thing is that on our night of climbing from 9 to 10 January, according to the forecast, it will be some terrible snowfall. Today we spend the night under the Barranco wall, tomorrow we will climb it and continue to the Karanga camp on 4100. And then - according to the situation.

Today, after a long transition and a large climb, many people have headaches. We decided to sleep longer tomorrow morning and recover.

Andrey Berezin, guide of the 7 Summits Club, from Tanzania: A new group of the 7 Summits Club on Kilimanjaro called "Gennaker" has arrived in Tanzania. This is the name of a large sail on a yacht. We came not without adventures during flights. But at last, we are all gathered in the village of Machame. After a night at the hotel, we tried the local cuisine, and now we are ready to go on Kilimanjaro by the "Machame" route.

Lyudmila Korobeshko, director of the 7 Summits Club and guide of the group, from Tanzania: Hello to all from the slopes of Kilimanjaro! Today, on January 4, my group arrived - 9 members. Since we had a free afternoon, we decided to spend time usefully and went to the waterfall Materuni. The trip was very informative and intensive. First, a half-hour walk to the beautiful waterfall with a height of 98 meters, which originates from the glaciers of Kilimanjaro. Then we went to a nearby village, where we were first served a very tasty village lunch. And then we went to the coffee plantations and did the process of making coffee on our own, from picking the beans and peeling them from the skins to roasting, grinding and brewing. All this was  made with dancing and songs in Swahili!!!

Tomorrow early morning we go on our climbing route - Machame. The first night will be in one step at 3000m. The forecast promises rains every day. We are getting ready - we take scuba gear with us!

...it's all over now. The moment of euphoria when you stand at the top and the whole continent is at your feet has already passed. How many doubts, preparations, and anticipations there were!

And now it's all over, just memories... and choose a new height and summits!

And it was amazing, indescribable, magical, fantastic! Kilimanjaro will always remain in my heart!

Dmitry managed to make the ascent in a unique time – almost alone with the mountain! During the entire ascent and at Uhuru Peak itself, they were  only one group, which is absolutely impossible in normal times.

In addition, Dmitry managed to capture unique footage of the traces of the fire that took place in mid-October in the Kilimanjaro National Park.

On the one hand, it is very scary to see a burnt-out forest, on the other hand, these shots are unique.

After a successful ascent and descent from the highest peak of the African continent Kilimanjaro (5895 m), the whole group is in a state of mild euphoria.

According to Igor Moshchuk:

It was sometimes a little heavy, but in general it was easier than I was afraid and I sooooooooo much liked it. Directly of the cosmic sense and unreal emotions. I only had a headache, which was quite bearable, and when it got worse, I took ibuprofen. Also took diacarb. Physically, I was well prepared and had no problems in this regard. It's not my first time living in a tent, so I got used to it quickly and slept well for the second night. From the point of view of the organization, everything was at high level in terms of care, nutrition, and camp organization. The local team is just super pros. In short, only positive!
