Today our group (all members) has reched the top of Mount Elbrus.  The weather was quite good. The climbers managed to edscent down the valley. Now they are in Terskol, in the Povorot Hotel preparing for sauna and victory celebration. Good job!

Vladimir Kotlyar transmits from the slopes of Mount Elbrus. Today we climbed to the top of Western Peak of Mount. We started at 2 am from a shelter on foot, without any snowcat. And we got to the top in eight half hours. Now we have a deserved rest in our alpine hotel (Leaprus). Tomorrow we plan to go down in Terskol to celebrate this momentous event. Hi! June 11 at 9:30 am, we were standing on the top of Mount Elbrus. The Gigant was in surprisingly good mood - probably the first such day since the beginning of the season: clear, bright moon, the stars, the beautiful sunrise, almost no wind. There is too much snow, but we managed. And as soon as we went down again all sucked. I'm Writing now from Leaprus refuge - outside we can not see anything, strong winds and snowing again. Overall, we were very fortunate that slipped. Can congratulate us :)

Our guide Sasha Sak from the slopes of Elbrus: We are at a new refuge: reached it, settled ... We had lunch today, then almost reached Pastukhov rocks, the wind prevented. Went down, waiting for dinner.

In general, all good, feeling great, the mood is too great.

The ‘s1′ eco-pod, developed by torino-based LEAPfactory, is a modular refuge structure designed specifically for extreme and remote environments. the building system is prefabricated and transported to any given location, and has been realized on many sites throughout Europe. The LEAPrus documentary takes viewers through the construction and assembly process of three shelters to create an alpine station (elevation 4,000 m) on the southern slope of mount Elbrus, located in the Caucasus range in Russia.

The s1 shelters are able to withstand harsh weather conditions, and as a result allow adventurers to inhabit more extreme locations. Completely detached from any power grid, a photovoltaic film is incorporated into the outer shell, and is able to provide all necessary energy for the building’s equipment. The shape, materials, and construction of the units help to optimize its performance, while interior fittings provide a high level of comfort. By lifting the structures off of the terrain, minimal impact is created on the otherwise undeveloped landscape.

Many thanks to our wonderful guides – they are heroes who took the whole group to the top, under bad weather and poor visibility, and most important of all was lowered back !

It is great place: warm, fun, there is internet. That's just the weather is not yet good. Today we tried to go to the Pastukhov rocks, but we were blown from 4300. But we do not despair, we eat well, sleep and wait for a weather window. Tomorrow - day of rest and training on snow and ice.

Finally we are at the cusp of a new season on Elbrus!

So, we have organized a big party dedicated to the beginning of the season “Elbrus 2014”. Our party will take place on 9, May on the terrace of a well-known hospitable hotel “Povorot”.

You will be able not only to meet your friends who you haven't seen for a long time but also enjoy the songs of a famous Italian singer Giampaolo Spatola from sunny Sicilia.

This year we open our season on Victory Day. On this day we more than ever realize the value of friendship, mutual understanding, a peaceful sky over our heads and that it is not money but love rules the world. Our guest Giampaolo Spatola often says: our world is fragile but at the same time indestructible if all the nations understand each other, if there is an advertence and tolerance. The main topics of Giampaolo's songs are Peace and Love which band people together regardless of their nationality, language, skin color, faith or wealth.

Red Fox Company and Russian Mountaineering Federation with the support of Emercom of Russia, Government of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria and International Skyrunning Federation conduct VI International festival Red Fox Elbrus Race on May 3-11, 2014.

The competition will take place on the Elbrus peak, the highest top of the Europe and the most popular Russian mountain region.

For several years the Festival Red Fox Elbrus Race with two races of the Russian National Series (Elbrus Vertical SkyMarathon® and Elbrus Vertical Kilometer®) is one of the central events in the skyrunning world. Elbrus Vertical Kilometer® and Elbrus Vertical SkyMarathon® were included in Skyrunner® World Series and the 50 World Ranking races of 2013 year. The best mountaineers, skiers and multisportsmen from all over the world come to participate in the Festival.

Last year the Red Fox Elbrus Race distinguished by the record established by the Italian skyrunner Marco Facchinelli in the main event of the Festival. The athlete overcame the very hard distance with height more than 3000 meters difference from Azau's glade to the West Elbrus Peak only in 3 hours 30 minutes. And the ordinary person needs not less than 1 day to carry out the same route.

But more than likely this record will be broken in the Festival Red Fox Elbrus Race 2014. Even now the desire to participate in the most high-altitude race of the world was expressed by many leaders of international skyrunning.

At the end of October 2013, an ascent of the western summit of the "two-peaked mountain" was made by experienced mountain climbers: Karina Mezova, who has climbed to the summit of Mount Elbrus 130 times, and Abdul-Khalim Elmezov, President of the Climbing Federation of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. Both climbers are close friends of the 7 Summits Club, both are Everest summiters.

With the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi just round the corner, the Olympic Flame has been lit at the summit of the highest point in Europe, Mount Elbrus, which lies in the Greater Caucasus mountain range.

During the relay, the longest in Olympic history, the Olympic torch has been seen at the International Space Station, in outer space, on the bottom of Lake Baikal, at the main Buddhist temple and monastery in the Republic of Buryatia, on top of Avachinsky volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, and at the North Pole.

A team of five experienced mountaineers has also reached the summit of Mount Elbrus with the Olympic Flame in a special lantern, the Torch Relay Committee revealed on Saturday.

Although commonly known as a mountain, Mount Elbrus is in fact a layered volcano, which last erupted about 2,000 years ago. It has long been a challenge for climbers from across the world, with the first documented ascent of the eastern summit in 1829. The slightly higher western peak was first conquered in 1874.

The plan to take the Olympic Flame to the western peak of Elbrus, at an altitude of 5,642 meters above sea level, was developed separately from the main Olympic Torch Relay route to have a chance to choose the best possible weather conditions for the climb.

At the end of October 2013, a Russian team of mountain climbers made an ascent of the western summit of Elbrus. One of the mountaineers, Karina Mezova, has climbed to the summit of Elbrus 130 times; the other, the president of the Climbing Federation of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Abdul-Khalim Elmezov, has climbed Elbrus more than 220 times.

A total of 14,000 torch bearers have taken part in the 2014 Olympic Torch Relay, with the oldest participant aged 101. Meanwhile, the average pace of the Olympic Torch Relay is 534 kilometers a day, with a variety of means of transportation available to ship it, including the traditional Russian three-horse sled, the troika, dog sled and reindeer sled, a hot air balloon, an amphibious motorboat, a medieval “ladya” Russian sailboat, a motorbike, a water scooter, a wakeboard, a ski bike, a snowmobile, as well as a snow-and-swamp buggy, just to name a few.

The 2014 Olympic Torch Relay has been hosted by 135 cities located in all of Russia’s 83 federal subjects. The longest nonstop leg of the relay spanned 2,055 kilometers, between the cities of Norilsk and Yakutsk in the Russian Far East.

How to find us

Today, six climbers from China and two Russian guide reached the Western summit ofMount Elbrus... It was not easy, as the physical form of our Chinese friends were not quite good. But the weather was favorable, and the whole group reached the summit. Alex Abramov and Alexandra Sack were the guides from the 7 Summits Club. It was our first group from China, and we hope that in the future hundreds of Chinese climbers will go to Elbrus. We have already learned how to work with them, and most importantly, what and how to feed them. Welcome!

Alex Abramov met a new group in Terskol, it is a group from China. First time in our practice we met climbers from this country. Just a leader of group speaks English, but we communicated mostly by smiles. The first day they climbed Mount Cheget, unfortunately it was made under the rain. Next day, the team went to the slopes of Elbrus. The weather is still bad. But we hope for a change in few days…

Alexander Abramov from Elbrus. Today, August 15, we had a remarkable event: the whole our team, 7 members and 3 guides, reached the summit of Elbrus. The weather was qiuite good. Also, two our friends Jenia and Katja, with a guide Eugene Pismenny, climbed two peaks, Western and then Eastern, and continued on their way down to the north side of Mount Elbrus. The rest of the team went down to the south.

Un this team Elena Abramova, and Denis Abramov for the first time reached the summit ofMount Elbrus, and made it with his father, Alex Abramov. Such family climb .... . It was hard, seriously. But, in general, all managed.

Yesterday, an Elbrus group of Alex Abramov has climbed a refuge of Islam at 3800 m. Today under bad weather conditions they climbed to the Pastukhov rocks for acclimatization. On the way the team visited buildings of a new refuge on the slopes of Elbrus. It was contracted but not in use yet. Just one group had an overnight there. Now it names LeapRus Shelter made and erected by Italian manufacturer “Leapfactory”. The owner is the North Caucasian Mountain Club which is a part of North Caucasus Development Corporation.

Denis Provalov, a guide of the Seven Summits Club sent a message from our Terskol office. 8th of August he led a group of six climbers that reached the Western Peak of Elbrus. Then two of them made a traverse to the Eastern Peak and went down to the North side of the mountain. The weather was perfect as well as conditions of the group members. The climb was dedicated the World Mountaineering Day, pointed as a memory of the first successful climb of Mont Blanc at 1786.

Today, 9th of August is a great day for our Club. Three new big groups departed from Moscow to different directions.

1. Mount Kazbek expedition. It will be an international team, they meet in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. Tour leader – Dmitry Ermakov.

2. The fourth in this season group of the 7 Summits Club will start its Mont Blanc program. This program includes an acclimatization on Monte Rosa. Tour leader - Denis Saveliev.

3. For the first time we organize a big tour on the Kurilskyie Islands in the Far East. A program was made by our managers Marina Nemirova and Olga Rumyantseva. The members of this expedition will visit the islands of Shikotan and Kunashir. And climbs volcanoes Mendeleeva, Golovins and Tytya. Unique program !

And the President of the 7 Summits Club Alex Abramov flew to the Caucasus. He will a leader of a new our group that will climb Mount Elbrus.

A guide of the 7 Summits Club Denis Provalov met a new group in Terskol. Today they made an acclimatization outing tо the Mount of Cheget. The weather was severe for climbers. But they could to see their aim - Mount Elbrus.

A fresh information from Elbrus. 2th of August two groups of the 7 Summits Club have climbed the Mount of Elbrus. It was the first day of good weather after a long time of cyclone and a lot of people went together this night. One of them – an American group led by a guide of the 7 Summits Club Alexandra Sak reached the summit in full. Later the western Peak of Elbrus was reached by our second group with a guide Andrey Berezin. Congratulations!

25th of July at 10 a.m. eight members of the group reached the Western Peak of Elbrus. Part of them traversed to the North side of Elbrus, part went back along the ascent route. Today they all met in Terskol in the office of the & Summits Club. Everything is OK.
