Tatyana Posokhin, representative of the 7 Summits Club in the USA:

Hello everyone! Day 5 of my Hungry Elbrus. The day of the ascent. The night was sleepless. The start was at 3 am. I feel great, cheerful, in anticipation!

The start of the route was a bit drawn out, we walked slowly because of the previous teams ahead, which basically gave the body time to warm up, so that it could run up later!

 The result of the hungry experiment:

You also need to take into account that I had not trained for a whole month due to illness (and I arrived on the expedition not having fully recovered yet):

- I quickly recovered from the illness: the cough and nasal congestion went away;

- the ascent itself was very easy for me;

- breathed deeply the whole way;

no altitude sickness or its symptoms;

- no headache;

- no fatigue;

- lots of energy and strength;

- no hunger;

- saturation at the very top 96;

- no clouding of consciousness either;

- climbed two peaks at once (if there had been a third peak, I would have run to it too), the journey from the East to the West took 1.5 hours, taking into account a stop for rest and changing;

- even without taking any medications or supplements, dietary supplements, vitamins, my body feels better than ever and there is no muscle pain after the climb.

It turns out that I became the first Russian and the first American woman to climb Elbrus on two peaks at once without food.

 And my main result: I overcame my altitude sickness. Those who know me, I have had enough defeats, both because of my lungs and failed ascents precisely because of altitude sickness. I have never had saturation above 86-90 at altitudes under the best of circumstances. I have done a colossal amount of work on myself, on my willpower, on all the difficulties.

But the result amazed me and brought me to new heights!

Hi! Today with the "Very organized group" we went on the final acclimatization climb in the direction of Pastukhov Rocks. We reached about 4630m, 50 meters from the final point we decided to turn around due to the weather. Taking advantage of the opportunity, we worked on our skills of moving in a thunderstorm and high-speed descents in crampons. Without excesses, but there were enough impressions for everyone.

Now we are in the rest phase and preparing for the assault on Elbrus.

Group guide: Georgy Bushuev.

 Greetings from the Elbrus region! The 7 Summits Club group "Ne Gipsony" continued their acclimatization on the slopes of Mount Elbrus. In the morning we were dropped on the refuge and settled into comfortable trailers. Then we started to trample the ice, since there was no snow to be found in the area. We walked around on crampons for confidence. We clicked not only our faces, but also the carabiners on the rope. We returned to the refuge and had a tasty meal. Tomorrow is a new day, new challenges.

Tatiana Posokhin, representative of the 7 Summits Club in the USA: Hello everyone! I am taking part in the 7 Summits Club expedition on Elbrus under the leadership of Alexander Dorojukov. I am also voluntarily taking part in my own challenge and experiment on myself - to make a hungry ascent in the footsteps of Alexander Abramov. Alexander himself supported my idea and gave me instructions and recommendations. From yesterday evening to this evening I have not consumed anything except liquid and honey. The temptation of food is present everywhere, considering that all 19 expedition members eat delicious food. But I can eat every day, but a hungry ascent is a separate kind of pleasure that does not happen in life on a regular basis.

The 7 Summits Club super guide Leuan Atabiev reports from Elbrus:

Good evening, friends of the 7 Summits Club. Once again, our club became a participant in the fulfillment of a dream and a path to the realization of the most amazing desires. By the end of the season, a team from Brazil arrived to Elbrus, in a small but significant scale. Our old good and cheerful friend Maximo Kausch, who is a professional in his field and a very experienced climber. He is known for his records of conquering 6000 Andes.

Maximo took on the fulfillment of the dream of one very strong-willed Brazilian, who has been suffering from a severe form of Parkinson's disease for 16 years. He dreamed of climbing the highest point of Europe and, of course, only the appropriate team of the 7 Summits Club is suitable for such a difficult task. And so, after all the successful stages of preparation, accompanied by a physiotherapist and his beloved wife, as well as under the sensitive and coordinated work of the tour leader and guide, on August 31, 2025, overcoming incredible difficulties for himself, Rodrigo Jose Marcio fulfilled his dream and stood on the top of Europe. He showed an example of fortitude and the futility of excuses for his weakness!

Congratulations to the whole team and we are waiting for everyone who is ready to rush to meet their dream! Well, the 7 Summits Club will be a faithful guide to this. In the photographs you will see Nirmal Purja, the famous Nepalese climber, whose group with the 7 Summits Club service climbed in parallel with ours.

Kilimanjaro/Tanzania. This evening, over a cozy dinner in a restaurant, we celebrated an important event together - the successful ascent of the 7 Summits Club group to Kilimanjaro. Everyone went through a difficult path - a night climb, cold wind, altitude and fatigue. That evening, warm words of support, gratitude and ... tears of joy were heard. The medals on the neck became a symbol of a great victory and common work.

Sometimes they say that the path is more important than the summit. But today, both the path and the summit were equally significant, real, and strong. Our group is on the top of Kilimanjaro. In full force! A long way up. A night climb in the dark, when you can only see the light of a flashlight in front of you.

A cold wind, height, rare air. Silence, in which you can only hear your own breathing and steps. We walked slowly, stubbornly, each in his own rhythm, but all together.

And here is the summit. The first rays of the sun, tears in the eyes, hugs and a feeling that cannot be described in words. This is a victory. Pure. Real.

We, the guides of the 7 Summits Club, are proud of each of you. Thank you for your trust, for your strength, for being a team until the very end.
