Alex Abramov from the slopes of Elbrus: The team of the 7 Summits Club training courses for Everest, Denali and Antarctica began practice on the slopes of Elbrus. Today we had a 4-hour trek to the camp on the glaciers of Elbrus. We went up with tents and sledges. The participants built their own camp, pitch tents, and two toilets made of snow blocks. They made their own dinner. In the evening, a blizzard began. The camp held out. Tomorrow we will have snow and ice classes and continue to strengthen our camp with protective walls of firn bricks. All participants are happy, very interesting program.

Alex Abramov from Elbrus region:  Today, the participants of the school of preparation for climbing Mount Everest, Denali, and Antarctica enthusiastically practiced all the necessary survival techniques on these mountains. These are: climbing on fixed ropes, pulling from crevasses, walking in snowshoes, setting up and protecting tents, cooking food. In the morning, all the girls, except for flowers and sweets, were given a snow shovel by the guides. In the evening, we celebrated the holiday on March 8 with champagne. Tomorrow, according to the plan, there will be an exit with tents on the glaciers of Elbrus for 2 days. We will learn how to set up a bivouac, build snow walls, heat snow and cook food, and even go to the toilet in bags. The day after tomorrow we will continue, we will have ice classes on real crevasses.

The 7 Summits Club is finalizing the formation of a team for 2021 Everest Climb. Our President Alexander Abramov  will lead an expedition to the world's highest mountain for the 19th time. Most likely, this is a world record! The main part of the group of climbers has long been known, since last year. We can say that the team will be quite large and diverse. Now there is still an opportunity to join it, as they say, "jump into the last car". Do not delay, as the deadline for issuing permits is running out! It should be noted that this year's expedition will have several distinctive features that make it more attractive for participants.

Features of the 2021 Everest expedition

**  We will climb from the South, from Nepal. Tibet will not be opened this spring. For those who went from the North, you can repeat, on a different, very different route. This is only the second expedition of the 7 Summits Club along the Southern Route, along the path of the first climbers, the legendary Hillary and Tenzing. And we can't say right now when we'll be back on this side of Mount Everest in the future.

**  Due to the pandemic, it is expected that there will be much fewer people than usual on the Everest trail and on the ascent itself. This is a rare chance on this route to get more natural emotions, not spoiled by the crowds of tourists and queues at difficult places during the ascent.

**  After a one-year break, the entire tourist infrastructure of Nepal will resume its work. All local residents, service workers, hoteliers, high-altitude porters and guides, all will be happy to see us in a special way. They will be more aware of the value of the guests and try even harder.

**  In the base camp and on a significant part of the route, the Everest expedition will work together with the 7 Summits Club expedition on Lhotse. There will be a lot of bright personalities in it, both among the guides and among the members. It will be a large and, we are sure, friendly team together.

And after lunch, it rained heavily again. We went down to the Baranko camp along the rain rivers.  The descent reminded me of Papua New Guinea at times. I couldn’t remember such rains on Kilimanjaro.  I've never been here during the rainy season, though. Kilimanjaro is covered in snow. If this goes on, you'll see that the glaciers will recover.

January 7. Today, our group made a heroic trek from Camp Shira 3800 via Lava Tower 4650 to Camp Barranco 3950. This transition took about 9 hours and was not easy for our team. It's a good thing there wasn't a downpour like yesterday. But it was cold, windy, and foggy. The weather does not favor us yet. The most unpleasant thing is that on our night of climbing from 9 to 10 January, according to the forecast, it will be some terrible snowfall. Today we spend the night under the Barranco wall, tomorrow we will climb it and continue to the Karanga camp on 4100. And then - according to the situation.

Today, after a long transition and a large climb, many people have headaches. We decided to sleep longer tomorrow morning and recover.

First, a half-hour walk to the beautiful waterfall with a height of 98 meters, which originates from the glaciers of Kilimanjaro. Then we went to a nearby village, where we were first served a very tasty village lunch. And then we went to the coffee plantations and did the process of making coffee on our own, from picking the beans and peeling them from the skins to roasting, grinding and brewing. All this was  made with dancing and songs in Swahili!!!

Tomorrow early morning we go on our climbing route - Machame. The first night will be in one step at 3000m. The forecast promises rains every day. We are getting ready - we take scuba gear with us!

The expedition of the 7 Summits Club on Mount Everest in 2016 can be called historic. After all, it was the main shooting of the future film "High-altitude Gene" which will become our monument for many years to come. The ascent was difficult, the conditions were difficult, and it was all that was required to create a decent plot of the film. And the main thing is that we coped, overcame everything and look like real heroes in the film…

From the chronicle of the expedition

06.05.2016

The 7 Summits Club Everest Expedition successfully completed  the final acclimatization outing

The  Team of the 7 Summits Club completed the acclimatization on Everest. All members, guides and video crew came  down to rest in the base camp. Members  who had a permit to the North Col, are ready to return home. Congratulations to those who established there their  altitude records!

Unfortunately, due to the severe weather conditions, not all of them were able to climb the North Col. All participants with permits for Everest spent two nights at an altitude of 7000 meters at the North Col. And they made the climb  to an altitude  of  about 7500 meters. Everything goes according to plan the expedition. Although the snow conditions were more severe than usual. The expedition will rest first at the base camp, and then go down  in  the valley. Then the group will return to the base camp, then climb tj the ABC camp to wait for a weather window to climb to the summit.

09.05.2016

The Everest-2016  team rested three days in the village Tashidzong. May 9th, The Victory Day, we went up to the base camp. While our plans are not clear, it all depends on when the Tibetan climbers prepare the route. By tradition, the Victory Day was marked in the base camp, a reception, to which were invited guests from other expeditions...

11.05.2016. Summit push was unsuccessful, the most nervous time for the expedition began. Patience and effort for the team!

Lyudmila Korobeshko: Our impulse to move sharply upward was stopped by snow and the lack of a fixed ropes. But this, in some sense, the audit showed the willingness of absolutely all the participants for the assault at any moment.

We now have probably the most difficult period of the expedition.  First of all psychologically – it is waiting with so many ever-changing introductory. The weather forecast  changes daily (or more accurately, no end of snowfall). Normal and good window is not visible.

Information from the Chinese changed about when they will finish fixing ropes to the summit. So there are many reasons  to be fidgety. We are encouraged by the fact that no one in our team use it. Everyone understands that patience– it is a  part of successful expedition.

Almost all participants had been ill, stopped to wash (to not get sick again;), everything getting thinner and tanned, we got used to each other.

Today we go to the Middle Camp to 5800. While as on the trip, but we'll see ...

Yesterday, almost all members of the team went to the Old Monastery Rongbuk ...

13.05.2016. Alexander Abramov of the tent at the base camp - on the current situation on Everest

Lying in the Base Camp in a sleeping bag  it is easier to think than at 7000.

What's happening? Yes, as usual, the Chinese pulled with a fixed ropes. The Weather is snowing. The route has more than 1 m of snow. Wind is weak. It does not blow away the snow.

We rest in the lower camps. Yesterday there was a concert of guitar music and singing. Moveâ for cinema. They took as participants go to bed. What else to move?

At the Base Camp and other camps in the abstract there are several Ukrainian girls, each of whom wants to climb Mount Everest. But they have feeble chance. And girls are slender,  gaunt already by waiting. Our Tanya is full of strength and desire!

In general, all are alive and healthy. And ready to storm.

It is kaif - in the morning to lie in a tent and philosophize. ))

17.05.2016. Alexander Abramov from the ABC camp: nothing strange, usually we climbed Everest from 20 to 25 May

The Everest Team of the 7 Summits Club is in the ABC camp at an altitude of 6400 meters. All expedition members are healthy and ready for the ascent. As long as we have to wait. There is nothing strange happens - it happens every year. Chinese (Tibetan) climbers are going to go to complete the processing of the route, the expedition is expected in full combat readiness...
