Two new groups of the 7 Summits Club have arrived in the Elbrus area. Today they went up to the first station of the cable car, to the cafe Ai. One of them is led by the director of the 7 Summits Club Lyudmila Korobeshko, the other – by our main guide to Elbrus Andrey Berezin. On the way, the participants and guides admired the beautiful views of the mountains: this is, of course, Elbrus, the legendary glacier "Seven", located on the northern slope of Donguzorun, also the peak of Nakra. Tomorrow, two teams will go up to the refuge National Park, where they will continue acclimatization and preparation for climbing Elbrus.

The mission of the Dostoevsky Group has been fulfilled! The ascent on Elbrus in honor of the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky took place on July 24. All the participants of the literary expedition reached the top at 7: 30 am. It should be noted that according to the forecast, there should have been a wind of 45 km per hour. But in fact, the weather conditions for climbing turned out to be much more comfortable. It is also necessary to note the good physical fitness of the participants.

The group of the 7 Summits Club "Gazprom Nedra" today made an acclimatization rotation to the height of 3750. Then all the participants and guides descended through the "stone mushrooms" to the base camp.

Vladimir Murzaev, guide of the 7 Summits Club from the Elbrus region: On the first day we climbed the slopes of Mount Cheget. On the second day, we remembered what an ice axe and crampons are. On the third day, we climbed the Pastukhov Rocks. On the fourth day, we were preparing for an assault. And on the fifth day, in a stubborn struggle with bad weather, we reached the top in 6 hours, which is quite fast for such weather. It was July 23 at 9-20 am. The girls are very persistent and purposeful.

News of the Elbrus region. The group "Apricots" today (23/07) climbed the Western peak of Elbrus. The weather was not easy: the wind was 50 km/h, sometimes cloudy and foggy, when I had partly to walk along a marked path, from one marker to another one. And at finish of that, there was cold rain on the top. And all these natural disasters did not prevent us from reaching the summit.

Boris Egorov, guide of the 7 Summits Club: Today we had a long day. Mount Elbrus struck us with its unpredictability. We have experienced almost all weather phenomena: this is the wind, and snow, and the lack of visibility, and even the unexpectedly scorching sun on the descent. For those who ventured to reach the top, this was an additional test. But, at the same time, the difficulties made the ascent unforgettable.

So, four representatives of hot Egypt were standing today on the highest point in Europe. Now everyone has gone down to the hotel and is recuperating. Guides Boris Egorov and Kristina Putintseva.

Group guide Andrey Berezin: News of the Elbrus region. The group of the 7 Summits Club "Apricots" climbed the Pastukhov Rocks today. During the day there was a strong heat, so we needed down jackets and membrane jackets only on the rocks themselves and at rest stops. We climbed at a good pace, the group was walking briskly, like one "Apricot". Tomorrow we plan to rest and prepare for the ascent.

Greetings from Elbrus! Today, the Wild guanabana group has successfully completed the acclimatization rotation, all participants have reached the Pastukhov Rocks. The weather continues to give us so much, there was a calm on the mountain. Now we are resting and preparing for the ascent.

Today was an unusually hot day for these places, the air temperature rose to 35 degrees. But this did not prevent us from completing the program of the day. Boris Egorov, guide of the 7 Summits Club:  News from Elbrus. Today, finally, for the first time in two seasons, we have foreign climbers, our friends from the Wildguanabana company, as guests. It was not easy for them to get to us, but they managed. Today we have already started to acclimatize. Before lunch, we took a walk on Mount Cheget, and after that we walked along the ecological path between the Cheget glade and the Azau glade.

Sergey Larin, guide of the 7 Summits Club:  The group "1078", on July 17 at 7:25, climbed the highest point of Europe. We left by ratrak at 2: 00, and at 9:45 we already went down to the refuge. That is, it is proved that acclimatization when you sleep at the bottom, and during the day you go to a height, has the right to exist.  However, it is worth noting that all the participants were physically prepared. Although only one participant has been at altitude before - on Aconcagua, and the second –f or the first time in the mountains.

The results are as follows. All 7 participants and the guide drank narzan. Four participants and a guide reached the Eastern peak of Elbrus. The route on Elbrus from the North is so not simple.

The group "Viva Elbrus" climbed the Western peak of Elbrus today.  We were pleased with the weather.  It was unusually clear and warm.  The whole group successfully descended to the hotel.  The second (VIP) group under the leadership of Sergey Larin will storm Elbrus tomorrow.

We reached only  the lower rocks.   At this time, the weather began to deteriorate, a thunderstorm was beginning, so we decided to go down to the shelter.  Tomorrow, according to the plan, is a day of rest and preparation for the ascent.

There, the participants mastered the skills of self-arrest with the help of an ice axe and movement on fixed ropes, as well as movement in crampons. Andrey Berezin, guide of the 7 Summits Club, from the Elbrus region: The group "Viva Elbrus" went to acclimatization on Mount Cheget.  Today it was summer hot even on the high slopes of Cheget. The pine forest was replaced by alpine meadows with their various grasses. Along the way, we admired the views of Elbrus, which was perfectly visible today. Today, our program of climbing Elbrus from the North began. Having overcome the route Moscow-Min.Vody-Pyatigorsk-Kislovodsk, we finally got to the height of 2500 meters and settled in the refuge "Nalp".

From here, all our further movements to the mark of 5621 meters (Eastern Peak of Elbrus) will take place without the participation of any vehicles. After completing this long day with a short walk to the spring and a delicious dinner, we rest and prepare for tomorrow's “Mushrooms” trip.

Two groups of the 7 Summits Club continue their acclimatization rotation in the Elbrus area with guides Andrey Berezin and Alexander Dorojukov. On the second day, all two groups went by cable car to the Refuge National Park. The weather in the morning was fine, clear and sunny.  But after in afternoon the weather worsened. Groups members had training sessions on snow slopes: climbing in crampons, self-arrest, moving along fixed ropes. The programs continue, and tomorrow they plan to go up to the Pastukhov Rocks.

At the invitation of the 7 Summits Club, the famous Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja (Nims) is going to visit Russia soon. He is preparing to climb the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus. The trip is scheduled for the period from July 28 to August 4. Nims became famous all over the world for his unique, incredible achievement - climbing 14 eight-thousanders in 7 months. Now he plans to reach the highest peaks of all continents - the "Seven Summits" program. It should be noted that this will be the second visit of Nirmal Purju to our country. We were the first to invite him in 2019, after he completed his epic ascents on the highest peaks of the World.
