The guide of the 7 Summits Club Valery Myasoedov reports from Tanzania:

May 3. The third day of the program is the longest move.  Very important in terms of acclimatization with a stop at the Lava Tower, 4600 m, where they prepared a great lunch for us. The weather again presented a test, it was quite comfortable to get to the Lava Tower, it rained heavily on the descent to Barranco camp, which did not stop until the camp itself. The optimism and attitude of the group is admirable. Today, the passage to the Karanga camp, with the passage of the Barranco wall, is short in time, so there will be more time for rest and recovery in the Karanga camp.

We suffered a lot, we spent almost the entire ascent in a cloud and with the wind, but we overcame all the difficulties with dignity. Now, sitting in the warmth after a shower and a hearty dinner, we shared our impressions and had intimate conversations. Jumbo from Tanzania! The second day of the program of the group "How to get to the library" is the climb to the Shira camp at 3900 m, a steeper climb and several rocky sections. The weather has taken pity on us, precipitation is weakening, and, hopefully, it will be drier in the higher camps according to the forecast. Everyone feels good, the appetite is excellent, local chefs are trying very hard for us, the range of dishes is large. Today is an important day for us, the trek to the Baranko camp via the Lava Tower at 4600 m, the highest point of the acclimatization program, after its passage we will still have two days to consolidate acclimatization before storming the summit.

The guide of the 7 Summits Club Valery Myasoedov reports from Tanzania:

Monday, May 1, the first day of the program of the new group of the 7 Summits Club on Kilimanjaro. We are trying to discern positive signs in everything that happens. On the first day we reached the Machame camp at an altitude of 3000 m in the conditions of incessant rain, so that it was time to think about renaming the group. The day before, out of many options, we stopped at "How to get to the library".  But at the crossing, the thought flashed through my head, maybe rename it to "How to get somewhere where it's not so damp...". But we are positive seekers... And we found it! The group showed enviable willpower and character, difficult weather conditions only united and tempered us, and this is the most important thing. Tomorrow we have a transfer to the Shira camp, and we are ready for any challenges.

But it couldn't spoil our wonderful mood.  Tomorrow we will move to the refuge on the Elbrus slopes, where we will continue acclimatization.

And finally the adventure in Papua for the next big group began. They called themselves "Stars in boots"!! The first part arrived yesterday, and we entertained ourselves with conversations and sipped wine. And the next morning, as if nothing had happened, we conducted a joint yoga practice. Today, everyone finally gathered in the town of Mount Hagen, had lunch, checked out local shops and moved to a comfortable lodge in the middle of the rain forest. We had an incredibly interesting circle of acquaintances. The team is big, 10 people, and I wanted to listen to everyone without stopping. Tomorrow, an early ascent and trekking to the base camp under the Giluwe volcano.

Boris Egorov, a guide of the 7 Summits Club, reports from Papua New Guinea:

Greetings from Papua New Guinea! Our cultural program continues in this country. The day began with a trip to a special place in the jungle, on a photo hunt for local birds. We were lucky to see an unusual feathered creature with a long, beautiful white tail, which is even depicted on the flag of PNG. After that we visited a new village, where we were shown how to cook the national dish mumu. To do this, first small stones are heated in the fire, and then vegetables and meat are laid in layers in the pit, interspersed with banana leaves. While the food was languishing in the ground, we watched the female and male dances and got acquainted with some of the customs of this tribe. Finally, after this, we tasted the food, delicious! Well, in the evening, chess and preference are already traditional.

We looked into the homes of the aborigines and received detailed answers to our numerous questions about life in this country, before and after the arrival of the white man. We were well fed, and in the evening there was time for leisure. We played chess and played preference until nightfall. The rest continues. Tomorrow we will continue to explore the customs of the indigenous population, and we hope to finish our game of cards.

Super-guide of the 7 Summits Club Alexey Lonchinsky reports from the Elbrus region:

A mountain school - training courses for climbing Mount Everest, Denali and Antarctica has completed its work in the Elbrus region. We were able to go autonomously with all the necessary equipment and provisions for 5 days to the area of Lake Elbrus, get up to a safe bivouac. We conducted classes on the basic principles of safe movement on ice and snow terrain, how to properly use a field kitchen and cook! For the first time, they were able to go up from the lake to the Mir station and then settle in the houses of the National Park shelter. The next day, we made an acclimatization rotation to 4600 (Pastukhov Rocks).

The weather in the region was unstable, the ascent had to be abandoned. The window for a safe ascent will only be in a few days. We went down. Unfortunately, we were met with rain and sleet...

We hope that next year there will be lower temperatures and more snow! Guides Alexey Lonchinsky and Dmitry Semenov.
