Alex Abramov from Mexico: Today, a new team of climbers on Orizaba arrived in Mexico City. This is the EKSMO team.There was a delay at the airport with passports, but then everyone cheerfully went on a tour of the old city. Even ate the famous tacos. Everyone is happy that they were able to escape from coronavirus Moscow. True, to coronavirus Mexico City. There are plenty of police everywhere. Restaurants are closed. But we are not discouraged. Everyone liked the night Mexico City and Lyuba Ivanova's excursion.

Tomorrow there will be a trip around the city, through the paintings of moralist artists. And move to Puebla. On the way, we will visit the largest pyramid in Mexico.

News from Kilimanjaro.  See photos as the 7 Summits Club guide Sergey Larin gives a briefing for his group. Today they all arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport. Tomorrow they will start the Northern Traverse (Rongai) route.

Lyudmila Korobeshko also flew to Tanzania. Her group arrives tomorrow. On the way to Tanzania, she met some old friends. This is the president of the Rock-climbing Federation Dmitry Bychkov with children and a well-known businessman, climber Leonid Kazinets.

The group of the 7 Summits Club led by Alexander Abramov climbed the highest peak in Mexico, the highest volcano in North America, Mount Orizaba (5700 meters). The climbers reached the summit at 9-30 local time, which is 18-30 Moscow time. The team: Julia Yatsuta, Julia Urozhaeva, Ivan Bejanov, Nastya Lazebnik and Vitaly Sorochenkov. The climbers successfully overcame the strong wind and frost. Our Congratulations!

Alex Abramov from Mexico: It's 15: 00 local time. Our team of 6 people again goes to storm Orizaba. The wind is weakening. Our group: Alex Abramov, Julia Yatsuta, Julia Urozhaeva, Ivan Bejanov, Nastya Lazebnikh, Vitaly Sorochenkov. The wind should ease by nightfall. This is our plan. We took  for each member a local guide. A total of 4 local guides and me - Abramov. Plus 6 porters. And we are going to spend a night in camp 4700, then, according to the plan, at 3:30 in the morning, we will start to climb. We must go to Orizaba and descend quickly. The team should already arrive at the airport and fly home at 1 a.m. next day. We have a very ambitious plan!

Today, the team of the 7 Summits Club ("friends of Fyodor Konyukhov") reached a height of 5100m in a hurricane wind. The wind had a speed of 75 km per hour. All night the wind tore the tents at 4600. And in the base camp, all the tents just flew through the air, broke half of them. Dust clogged everywhere. Tomorrow, the team plans a second assault attempt. Wish us luck!

Alex Abramov from Mexico:  The team leaves for the Assault Camp 4700. We gave some of the things to the porters. We will decide on the weather. So far, we are predicting gale-force winds of up to 70 km per hour. This is too much for Orizaba. But the mood of the team is cheerful. Tomorrow morning we plan to climb to the top of Orizaba all  together.

We came and settled in our Super Base Camp at an altitude of 4200m. We were greeted with great food. In our camp there are beautiful tents with a height of 2 meters, each of them has a living room and 2 bedrooms. There is no wind now. We hope that the bad forecast will not be justified, and we will reach the top on December 31.

After lunch, we walked to the height of 4400m. All the team members are fine. Tomorrow we go to the high-altitude camp 4700m and at night to storm the summit…

This is Alexander Abramov from Mexico. The team of friends of Fyodor Konyukhov continues the program of climbing  Mount Orizaba. Today we climbed the first peak of our program - Sierra Negra (4600m). We got up at 5 am, in a hotel in the city of Puebla. And by 8 am we arrived in the town of Zopan, which is located at the foot of Orizaba. Here we had breakfast and went on an acclimatization ascent. The ascent and descent on Sierra Negra took 7 hours along with the road. At the top, we installed an icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. The climb wasn't easy for everyone. In the evening, part of the team has a headache.

Tomorrow we will move to the Base Camp near Orizaba at an altitude of 4200 meters. There Sasha Dorojunov and Luba Pershina already set for us tents.

26.12.2020. News of the group following the program "Orizaba Peak - Mexico". In the morning we had a run in the Park "Grasshopper". The whole city seems to be running. Then the excursion tour took place in the iconic places of Mexico Сity. We're all hungry, but the restaurants are only open for takeaways. We had to buy tacos and sit right on the sidewalk. For dessert, we found the house of the famous artist Frida Kahlo. Tomorrow we move to the city of Puebla.

27.12.2020. Today we moved from Mexico-City, to a great town called Puebla. On the way, we watched churches and ate grasshoppers. The city is boiling. It's easier here than in Mexico-City. Restaurants are open in the evening. Everything has become easier in the organization.

Alexander Abramov from Mexico: The team of friends of Fyodor Konyukhov arrived in Mexico! Guides of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov and Alexander Dorojukov met the members at the airport. Today we walked around the capital, the city of Mexico and were able to go to the Old Sity on the Constitution square. There are 100 tents of protesting Indians on it – this is the local "Maidan". After Christmas, almost everything in the city is closed, but on the street they sell tacos - the national Mexican food.

The international team of climbers under the general leadership of the President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov continues to prepare for expeditions on K2 in the summer of 2021 and in the winter of 2021-2022. At this time, the teams train separately in their own mountains.

The national team of Kazakhstan from December 6 to 20 held training camps in the Tuyuk-su area.

Mountaineers of Kyrgyzstan continue to make difficult climbs in their native mountains, in Ala-Archa.

The Russian team under the leadership of its captain Alexander Yakovenko is in the Caucasus. Our climbers, according to the plan, go to the traverse of the Elbrus massif in the direction from West to East. It is planned to spend several nights (5 or 6) in "combat" conditions, including in the area of the summit.

The President of the Club Alexander Abramov and guide Alexander Dorojukov fly to Mexico to organize an expedition on Mount Orizaba for a large group of friends of Fyodor Konyukhov. Hello everyone from Elbrus! Yesterday the group Winter Blitz, climbed to the top of Mount Elbrus! It was sunny and beautiful! And it was very cold. But that didn't stop us. We stood on the top and admired the beauty, at a temperature of -43 degrees.

A group of the 7 Summits Club with a guide Lubov Pershina climbed the summit of  Mount Orizaba! This is the first ascent of the season by Russian climbers on the highest volcano in North America! Congratulations on victory and we are waiting for a detailed report!

Luba Ivanova, guide of the 7 Summits Club from Mexico: "Photos from the climb of  Mount Cofre de Perote. On November 9, we climbed a beautiful peak with a height of 4283 m. This mountain is called Cofre de Perote, and is located opposite Mount Orizaba, which offers a stunning view from the top.

The path goes first through a spruce forest, then through a pine forest, and then along a path among grasses and stones. The summit is located on a high rock that resembles a chest. Hence the name, translated, "Pedro's Chest". The descent to the car takes only 2 hours, and from there it is not a long way by jeep to the town of Perote.

In the evening we went to Tlachichuca and climbed to a hotel in the village Soapin.

...it's all over now. The moment of euphoria when you stand at the top and the whole continent is at your feet has already passed. How many doubts, preparations, and anticipations there were!

And now it's all over, just memories... and choose a new height and summits!

And it was amazing, indescribable, magical, fantastic! Kilimanjaro will always remain in my heart!

Dmitry managed to make the ascent in a unique time – almost alone with the mountain! During the entire ascent and at Uhuru Peak itself, they were  only one group, which is absolutely impossible in normal times.

In addition, Dmitry managed to capture unique footage of the traces of the fire that took place in mid-October in the Kilimanjaro National Park.

On the one hand, it is very scary to see a burnt-out forest, on the other hand, these shots are unique.

After a successful ascent and descent from the highest peak of the African continent Kilimanjaro (5895 m), the whole group is in a state of mild euphoria.

According to Igor Moshchuk:

It was sometimes a little heavy, but in general it was easier than I was afraid and I sooooooooo much liked it. Directly of the cosmic sense and unreal emotions. I only had a headache, which was quite bearable, and when it got worse, I took ibuprofen. Also took diacarb. Physically, I was well prepared and had no problems in this regard. It's not my first time living in a tent, so I got used to it quickly and slept well for the second night. From the point of view of the organization, everything was at high level in terms of care, nutrition, and camp organization. The local team is just super pros. In short, only positive!

 The 7 Summits Club guide Lyubov Pershina from Mexico: Hello from Mexico! A couple of hours ago, our active member Lilia Kovalenko arrived safely from Russia (via Amsterdam). Mexico welcomed her with open arms: no problems on the way out.

 So the group "First swallows" is assembled, and this afternoon we will have our first walk around the city. Wait for news! Saludos from Mexico city!

 The 7 Summits Club opens season on Orizaba, which is the highest volcano in North America and the "roof of Mexico". We have guaranteed groups and arrivals every week.

Instead of 500 people who ascend Kilimanjaro peak (Uhuru peak, 5895 m) every day at normal times, now according to the National Park administration, an average of 8 people per day register a successful summit ascent.

Dreams come true sooner or later, one way or another! Many climbers, before deciding on the route, express their wishes to go along the least crowded path to enjoy the beauty in solitude and merge with nature!

Now it is possible!

You can go along one of the routes and not meet a single person!

A small group of the 7 Summits Club had just climbed the highest peak in Africa on the Marangu route.

According to them, it was amazing! Just you and mountains, and not a single person in any camp!

 The weather was beautiful. We enjoyed nature and solitude! We saw a lot of animals.

In addition, our climbers encountered traces of a fire in the Kilimanjaro National Park, many videos of which could be seen on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. The fire raged in the forest at an altitude of about 3500 m (between the camps of Mandara and Horombo, in the area of unique dendrosenecia).

The ashes of course are terrible, but  it is a unique sight! It's awfully interesting.

And the forest has already started to recover and in six months everything will be back as before.

Kilimanjaro is open and wait for you!

   A little positive news from the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Two of our groups made successful ascents on Uhuru peak (which means "freedom" in Swahili), which is the highest point in Africa and crowns the Kilimanjaro volcano massive.

 The weather was different, there was also fog,  they have been rising among the clouds, but during the summit assault it was a clear night and the sun! Visibility from the top was excellent! The crater of the volcano is covered with intricate snow forms of weathering. Trails on the routes are free, there is no queue to take a cherished photo at the top!

 Now two more groups of the 7 Summits Club are starting on the Kilimanjaro climbing route.
