Guide and director of the 7 Summits Club Lyudmila Korobeshko reports from Pakistan:

June 19.  Greetings to all from Pakistan from the participants of the expedition to K2 "The High Altitude Gene"! Today, almost all the members of the expedition and the entire crew of the RD Studio have arrived in Islamabad. As soon as the temperature dropped a little below 40 C, we went on a tour of the capital. We visited the Monument of Pakistan - a huge structure in the form of a flower, symbolizing Pakistan itself with its regions. Then we visited the largest mosque in Pakistan (and one of the largest in the World) - the Faisal Mosque, which simultaneously accommodates more than 300,000 worshippers. And we went up to the Himalayas - to the hills that end the Himalayas in Pakistan. This is the Margalla Ridge.

3 more participants will arrive tomorrow, and we will all go to Skardu together.

Today, the Sherpa team of the K2 High Alttude Gene project left with all the things from Skardu. And after 5 hours we successfully reached the last village of Askole. The height is 2900m. 140 porters were already waiting for us here, who would take all our belongings to the K2 Base Camp in 7 days. We are already spending the night in tents. All 20 high-altitude Sherpa porters feel you perfectly. We have a long road ahead of us on the Baltoro Glacier. We will go, eat and sleep. Get fit and fat for hard work on the most difficult and dangerous mountain above 8000m.

The head of the K2 Altitude Gene expedition is Alexander Abramov.

By the way, I met Lhakpa, who climbed Mount Everest 10 times. Now she goes to K2.

On our side is the experience of filming on Everest of the film "The High Altitude Gene", which had a huge audience of millions. It was repeatedly shown on Channel One - Russian main TV Channel. Guide and manager of the 7 Summits Club Anastasia Kuznetsova reports from Iran:

Greetings from Larijan! Larijan is a village in Iran with hot springs at the foot of Demavend. Our team of the 7 Summits Club started from here towards the Demavend base camp called Barham Sevom (4150 m).

At the camp with the mosque, we loaded our luggage onto jeeps and started the ascent on foot. The process of climbing showed that we have the best team. We decided to rename it "The Expendables" (but perhaps this is also not the final name of the group). All the participants went together and helped each other. There were no other groups on the mountain besides our group. This confirmed that we have chosen the right strategy. And of course, everyone was pleased with the surprise from our chefs. We didn't eat such yummy food even in restaurants in Tehran. Now we are resting and preparing for tomorrow.

Your guides are Valery Myasoyedov, Evgeny Fedyunin, project coordinator - Anastasia Kuznetsova.

We invite everyone to Iran!

President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov reports from Pakistan:

Today in Skardu we collected all the goods, bought everything, packed everything. The biggest shock among local porters was caused by 200 liters of Coca Cola, which 10 porters will carry to the K2 Base Camp. As is known, CO2 is washed out at altitude. And this will be our know-how. Coca Cola, of course, will not replace 120 oxygen cylinders for us, but according to our calculation it will give the necessary acceleration.

Tomorrow our team of 12 Nepalese Sherpas and 8 Pakistani high-altitude porters will leave for Ascole. According to the plan, they should arrive at the K2 Base Camp 5 days earlier than the participants, put our most comfortable base camp on K2. And I will go with them - the head of the expedition, Alexander Abramov. By the way, cherries have already ripened in Skardu. Come here!

For the first time in history, a chess tournament for climbers will be held in the spring of 2024 on Mount Everest. According to the organizers, the main part of the tournament will begin at the foot of the mountain (base camp), and its final will be at an altitude of about 8000 meters (South Col camp), without the use of additional oxygen. The prize fund will amount to 14 million rubles (app. 170000 USD), the winner of the competition, in addition to the cash prize, will have the opportunity to celebrate his victory on the summit of Mount Everest.

"This is the first tournament for climbers, which will demonstrate physical endurance and demonstrate the intellectual capabilities of the brain in extreme conditions.  The fourth and most dangerous Everest camp is located at an altitude of 8000 meters, and here the finalists will hold a match without access to additional oxygen. To maintain clarity of thought in intellectual struggle in such conditions, perhaps, will be the main challenge for the finalists of the Everchess tournament," commented the President of the 7 Summits Club, 12 times Everest summiter Alexander Abramov on the specifics of the event.  The initiator of the tournament was the summiter of Everest2023, the head of the company "Security Code" Andrey Golov.

Andrey Golov and Alexander Abramov after Everest summit

Applications for participation in the tournament will start in September 2023, and all participants will be strictly selected for health and climbing experience.

The cost of participation is 7,000,000 rubles.

The prize fund is 14,000,000 rubles.

The Guide of the 7 Summits Club Sergey Avtomonov reports from Turkey:

The group "Masha and the Bears" climbed the summit of Mount Ararat. Not quite a full team, due to bad weather, but Masha has reached the top! Everyone is alive and well, everyone went down to the city, rested after a hard climb and winter weather. On the night of climbing at the top, the forecast did not come true and the wind was up to 50 km per hour, aggravated by snow and lack of visibility. After the descent, we were caught by hail in the assault camp. And then we went down to Dogubayazit. And we spent the night at the hotel. Then we visited the palace of Ishaq Pasha, then we went to the city of Van, swam in the lake and got to the hotel. And in the evening we celebrated the ascent and the end of the program.

Greetings from Iran! Our team continues the process of acclimatization, getting closer and closer to the Damavand. Today we have studied the infrastructure of the local ski resort Tochal (And yes! There are ski resorts in Iran). We took the cable car to the Tochal pass up to 3700 m, then went down on it to our hotel at 3600 m.

We rested a little and continued acclimatization, climbed to the top of Mount Shah Neshin (3900), checked the equipment. At the summit, we launched a kite (a record application from Viktor Alexandrov), met a local fox cub.

Before dinner, we conducted a breathing practice and fixed acclimatization. We discussed our plans for tomorrow and finished the day with backgammon and chess games. Friendship won, of course!

Greetings to all from hot Persia! So our summer season has started on Damavand. Today we met our first group, an already well-coordinated team. Most of the members have climbed Elbrus and Kilimanjaro together before.

The day turned out to be eventful and full of impressions. The acquaintance with Tehran began with a tasting of a local traditional dish - dizi. The most famous restaurant is located in the Grand Bazaar area in a historic building where the very first bank in Iran used to be.

A shared photo with the owner of the restaurant is attached. Of course, we visited Golestan, reviewed all the shah's palaces of the Qajar era, the tombstone of the last Shah, copies of thrones, the diamond hall, gifts of the shah, for which a separate building was built.

We were introduced to Tehran by the beautiful Maryam, professor of the Russian language department at the university and an expert in local history.

The evening and the welcome dinner were held in the panoramic revolving restaurant of the Milad TV tower with a view of the evening sparkling Tehran.

We discussed all the details of tomorrow and, of course, congratulated Viktor Alexandrov on his birthday! We are very glad that he decided to spend his BD with us!

The sky has been accumulating rains for a long time, and we are the forces, so our rescue competitions were moved from the rock massif to the room.

Although from the outside it looked more like a web, in fact, there is nothing superfluous in the system. In a team, each participant knows their functions, actions become coordinated, fast and clear. Super Sherpa Team and Kristina Putintseva.
