The first expedition of the 8000.Club project  starts on April 17th to the fifth highest peak in the World -Makalu. Lyudmila Korobeshko will lead the team.  Mount Makalu (8,485 m) has long been famous for a long and tedious trekking approach to the base camp. However, now all issues are being resolved with the help of a helicopter. Makalu is also a record holder among eight–thousanders in terms of the number of routes climbed and their variants. However, almost all of them have been completed only once. The absolute majority of climbers use the French route of 1955. It's A Classic!  A long detour route leads along the glacier and ends with a very beautiful final part.

Another 8000.Club group will be working on Everest at this time. The team will be led by Viktor Volodin.  They have a special sport program. This year Nepal will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.  Expedition of the 8000.Club will follow in the footsteps of the legendary Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.

You will also be able to follow the news from these expeditions on the website of the 7 Summits Club.

About a month is left before the start of our climbing programs to the summits of the Himalayan eight-thousandthers. The first to start is the traditional expedition of the 7 Summits Club on Mount Everest under the general leadership of Alexander Abramov.  The main group will work according to the classic program of climbing on the highest peak of the World with full service and maximum possible comfort.  And we will also repeat the successful program "Touching Everest" in the past years, with overcoming the legendary Khumbu icefall and climbing to the Camp 2.

This year Nepal will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the first ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.  The expedition of the 7 Summits Club will follow in the footsteps of the legendary Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. We would like to be present at the celebration at the end of the expedition as full-fledged participants and happy winners!

Also this season, the first programs of the 8000.Club project are being held:  big Makalu expedition with  Lyudmila Korobeshko as a leader and Everest by the special sports program (head Viktor Volodin).

Hello everyone from Tanzania! Our group of Chronic climbers has completed its journey. Yesterday we woke up in a camp at an altitude of 3800 meters in almost native tents. And after the final breakfast and the farewell ceremony with the team, we walked 12 kilometers through an incredibly beautiful forest and came to the gates of the national park, where a festive lunch was waiting for us.

And although it was a little sad that it was over, the hot shower was much more pleasing. And in the evening, at a festive dinner, the participants of the ascent were awarded. Everyone received certificates and beautiful medals. And they have already started making plans for future ascents.

News of the mountaineering school in Khibiny.  Today, under the leadership of Alexey Lonchinsky and Ratmir Mukhametzyanov, we successfully climbed on the top of Aikuaivenchorr by the route 2B K.T. (route "Fox")!  The participants passed the main part of the wall at the same time, the leader fixed ropes only on the key section. All this happened under the supervision of our instructors, who monitored safety, guided and encouraged somewhere.

They also worked out important skills of independent decision-making on the route: which scheme to move, where to make stations.

Tonight we will analyze the mistakes made, and tomorrow we will hold a training session on the ice.

Super-guides: Alexey Lonchinsky, Ratmir Mukhametzyanov.

Coordinators of the mountainering school: Svetlana Kotlyar, Daria Sivova.

Congratulations to all the girls on the International Women's Day! Today our team made a festive ascent to Takhtarvumchorr by two routes of difficulty category 2A: "Iksy" and "Cleft".  We were divided into 2 groups: the first part of the participants made the ascent under the leadership of Alexey Lonchinsky, the second — under the leadership of Ratmir Mukhametzyanov.

The first sections of simple climbing moved simultaneously. When the rocks of more difficult categories began, the leader moved first, hung up fixed ropes.  All the participants successfully climbed to the top, and after that they went to the hotel, where a festive dinner in honor of "March 8th" was waiting for us. We congratulated the female half of the group and shared our impressions of today! Tomorrow is the day of theoretical classes, analysis of today's ascent and preparation for the next one.

Supergids: Alexey Lonchinsky and Ratmir Mukhametzyanov.

Svetlana Kotlyar, Coordinator of the Mountainering School of the 7 Summits Club in Khibiny:

Greetings to all from the Khibiny Prusiki team! Our mountaineering school is in full swing! We continue to learn the basics of mountaineering!

Today was the most eventful day! In the morning we went to rock classes in the "City gap". It is very convenient that here in Kirovsk, all the locations we need are literally within walking distance.  Our instructors Alexey Lonchinsky and Ratmir Mukhametzyanov told the members about various types of embedded elements: stoppers, eccentrics, friends, hooks, anchors.

We learned to put points on the terrain and assemble stations on our own. They also continued to work out the descent and ascent along the fixed rope. We finished the lesson by teaching self-arrest on the slope with the help of an ice axe.

After dinner, we listened to a very relevant lecture about avalanche danger in the mountains, because the Khibiny is the most avalanche-prone area in our country.

Now we are resting and preparing for tomorrow's climb on route 2A!

Super-guides: Alexey Lonchinsky, Ratmir Mukhametzyanov.

Coordinators of the school: Svetlana Kotlyar, Daria Sivova.

News from the Chronic Climbers group. Today we moved from Camp Barranco to Camp Karanga.  To do this, we needed to climb the Baranko Wall. Climbing this wall invariably causes a lot of emotions. At first, looking at the wall, everyone asks the question "how to climb it?", and then they climb, watching with surprise a string of porters who overcome the wall with luggage on their heads.

After overcoming the wall, we had a tea party, before which we sang a little and even danced, despite the height of 4,200 meters.  And then there was a beautiful walking to the Karanga camp among beautiful trees and intricate volcanic forms. Tomorrow we have to move to the Kosovo assault camp.

But before the introduction ceremony took place, we went through a long but very beautiful climb from the first Machame camp to the Shira Cave camp. From the area where trees grow, we went up to where there is nothing but bushes with picturesque moss. And then the bushes ended.

The ceremony of acquaintance was held with incendiary dances and songs. Tomorrow we have a big crossing over the Lava Tower.
