October 6. The adventures of "Team A" continue! Today we set off towards Mount Wilhelm. The road to Kegesugl took about 5 hours, but it passed through very picturesque places! High green hills, mountain rivers and villages scattered around.

By lunchtime we arrived at Betty Lodge, which is located at an altitude of 2800 m, where we were greeted very warmly! The locals put on a real show with traditional dances. It is incredibly green and beautiful here - after the gray and rather dirty Mount Hagen, it is simply a joy to the eye. The lodge is new, everything here is homely and cozy and made with love: large rooms, a cozy dining room with a fireplace and delicious food!

There is a trout farm on the territory: more than 55 thousand trout are grown here! This fish is supplied to all of PNG.

For dinner there were a lot of vegetables and fruits grown on the farm and of course the freshest trout and very tasty local coffee.

Tomorrow we are heading to the base camp of Mount Wilhelm, we will be without communication for two days.

Namaste from Nepal! The group of the 7 Summits Club "70e" left Deboche today and went to Dingboche, a village located at the foot of the beautiful Ama Dablam. The road from Deboche starts in a rhododendron forest, we gradually gain altitude and after the suspension bridge we get to alpine meadows. On the right throughout the day we had Ama Dablam. Everest was also visible in the morning, the summit of which is covered with snow. Gradually gaining altitude, in the afternoon, we were already in Dingboche. Tomorrow we go to Lobuche.

Hello everyone from Ecuador! Our second wave of ascents to the volcanoes of Ecuador by Rustam Makharramov has begun. Last autumn, Rustam climbed on the summit of the Cayambe volcano (5790 m) in unfavorable weather conditions. Cayambe is a unique place. This volcano is located almost on the equator and is the third peak of Ecuador after Chimborazo (6310 m) and Cotopaxi (5897 m).

This time, Rustam returned for Chimborazo, which he failed to climb last year. Now conclusions have been drawn, the acclimatization and rest scheme has been changed, another stage of annual physical training has been completed, a bunch of literature and articles have been studied. Fighting spirit!

So, this time we started acclimatization not with the usual excursion program around the capital of Ecuador - colonial Quito (2800 m) and the equator line (we have already been there), but with easy trekking along the slopes of the Ilalo volcano (3194 m) in the suburbs of Quito. The weather was favorable for our team and the day was a success.

A good dinner with good wine in good company also contributes greatly to proper acclimatization!

October 5. That day we returned to civilization to our Highlander hotel! How nice it would be to take a hot shower and find ourselves in the warmth after all our adventures and trekking through the swamps under pouring rain!

  In the afternoon we visited two local tribes. The first is the Mudmen. Their bodies were decorated with clay, and on their heads were huge clay masks, weighing at least 10 kg. According to legend, they were defeated by an enemy tribe and were forced to flee to the Asaro River. Before trying to escape, they waited until dusk. The enemies saw them rising from the dirty banks, covered in mud, thought they were spirits and fled in fear.

The second tribe is Huli Wig. They decorate their faces with traditional Papuan flowers and wear headdresses ... made from their own hair and the feathers of the bird of paradise, which is the symbol of the country.

In the evening, a festive dinner was held, at which the participants received the coveted medals and certificates for the ascent. They recalled the brightest moments and shared impressions. For some of the group, the program ends, and they return home. Well, a new adventure awaits us with the second half of the group - climbing the highest mountain in the country - Wilhelm Peak!

Namaste from Nepal! The joint group of the "70s" program continued its journey towards the Everest Base Camp. Today we left the beautiful capital of the Sherpas Namche Bazaar and went to Deboche. On the way we visited a Buddhist monastery. We also saw Everest for the first time, the weather is clear all day. Tomorrow we go to Pheriche.

It rained almost the entire night before the ascent and there was a strong wind. Due to the weather, it was decided to postpone the start an hour later. At 4.30 in the morning we had breakfast, filled up the thermoses and left the camp at 5.00.

 The first part of the route also passed through swampy terrain. By dawn, we reached the ridge, from where a stunning view of the top of Giluwe opened up, painted in the warm rays of dawn.

 The ascent itself is not technically difficult. However, the last part of the route is a rocky section where belay is required. At one time, our leader Alexander Abramov equipped this section with bolts. We divided into two groups and continued the ascent.

 At 8.30 in the morning, our "Team A" in full force stood on the top of the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania! Great weather and magnificent views from the summit!

Everyone was happy! For many participants, this volcano has already become the 4th, 5th and even 6th of the "7 Volcanoes" project. 

The ascent did not seem easy to anyone. The rocky section is quite slippery, you need to be on guard all the time so as not to slip, which once again proves that there are no easy mountains!

Namaste from Nepal! Today the group "Island Peak" arrived in Namche Bazaar. The path went along the Khumbu River, which we crossed several times on suspension bridges. In Namche Bazaar we met a group going to the Everest Base Camp. Here we joined and will continue as a single group "70s". In the afternoon we walked around the capital of the Sherpas. Tomorrow we go to Deboche, altitude 3800 m.

The most famous brewer among climbers and the most famous climber among brewers - Daniil Briman, as part of the 7 Summits Club expedition in 2023, climbed to the summit of Mount K2 (Chogori). At the summit, he collected a flask of snow, which he brought to his brewery. Of course, the snow melted, but water was added when boiling the wort for imperial stout beer. We can safely say that Briman Imperial Stout 8611 is the only beer in the world brewed with the addition of snow from the summit of the most dangerous and hard-to-reach eight-thousander on the planet - the "Wild Mountain" K2. Limited edition. There will never be such beer again: Briman said that he will not go to K2 a second time :)

October 3. At 5 am we left for the gates of the national park. In the morning there was good visibility and while we were driving we were surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes. An hour and a half later we arrived at the beginning of the route. Here we changed into rubber boots, porters took our bags, and we went trekking.

 The hike to the camp is 12 km and about 6 hours in time. The first part of the route is a real jungle: tall trees, ferns and mosses. Then the path goes along the river, underfoot there is grass and marshy soil. That's why we wear rubber boots, without them there is nowhere.

At the foot of the mountain we have a real base camp: large comfortable tents, toilets, this season we brought a dining tent and tables. The 7 Summits Club created the maximum possible comfort for the participants in such conditions!

After lunch, we discussed the ascent plan, practiced walking in ropes and working with equipment.

On October 2, 2024, at 22:50, the ship "Argus" with the Transglobal Car expedition on board entered Wolfis Bay in Namibia. So we can consider that another stage of the journey is over. On the 268th day of the expedition, on the morning of October 3, the team landed on the coast of Namibia.

The African stage was divided into two parts. From Morocco in the north, having covered more than 7 thousand kilometers across the Atlantic Ocean, the team moved to the south of the continent. There are 42 days of adventure ahead. Then from Cape Town the cars and crews on the same "Argus" will move to South America, to Punta Arenas.

In the meantime, the route goes along the West Coast of Namibia, through one of the largest and most uncompromising deserts in the world, called the Namib. For climbing, they found the longest dune in the world here. At +40, this is not easy.

Namaste from Nepal! The "70s" group with air adventures has reached the trekking part of the program. On the first day, we flew from Kathmandu to Ramechap. Where we spent the next day waiting for the flight to Lukla. And only today in the afternoon we found ourselves in Phakding, using two helicopters. From Phakding we reached Monjo. Now we are resting in the lodge, tomorrow we are going to Namche Bazaar.

Today, at 8:30 am local time, the 7 Summits Club Team "Group A" in full force climbed to the top of the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania - Giluwe, 4,368 m high! The day turned out to be quite difficult and very eventful, all participants are great! Details later.

Hello to everyone from the "Group A" team! We continue our journey through the exotic country of Papua New Guinea!

This morning we checked out of the hotel and stopped at a very colorful local market for fruit. The locals greeted us very joyfully - they smiled, waved their hands and most importantly - everyone was smiling!

Then we drove towards our mountain lodge, stopping at Paya Village on the way. The villagers told us about their customs and traditions, treated us to a traditional dish "mumu" - this is meat baked in an earthen pit, lined with hot stones and coals and wrapped in banana leaves. And while we were waiting for lunch, the Papuans put on a performance with songs and dances for us.

After that, we drove to the place of overnight stay and checked into the Mountain Lodge. Now we are already at an altitude of 2400 m. In the evening at dinner we will discuss the plan for tomorrow, in the morning we move towards Giluwe! There will be no connection for the next 2 days, do not lose us and wait for greetings from the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania!

Hello from Papua New Guinea from the "Group A" team! Today we met all the participants of our program at the Port Moresby airport. Before boarding the domestic flight, some participants even managed to swim in the Coral Sea - when else would there be such an opportunity? Then we flew to Mount Hagen, where our program of climbing the Giluwe volcano and Wilhelm Peak will begin. We checked into the Highlander hotel with a beautiful green area, bought the necessary products for the mountain. And in the evening there was a welcome dinner, where all the participants (and there are 13 of us!) met and told about themselves. It is nice to watch how people who are still strangers to each other in the morning, by the evening begin to actively communicate, laugh and become a team.

Greetings from Bolivia! Yesterday, our group climbed the summit of Huayna Potosi with all of us. The climb was quite difficult. The weather conditions were not always pleasant. The upper part of the mountain threw up an unpleasant surprise. There was no snow there, and the last part of the way we had to climb over rocks. But in the end, all the participants coped. We all got new experience and unforgettable impressions.

 Greetings from Bolivia, where the Adventures of Zvyaginshtein group continues its journey. Today we had a very long day, full of various impressions.

Early in the morning we left La Paz towards Lake Titicaca to the city of Copacabana. We were very lucky. Yesterday the road was blocked by protesters, and it was impossible to drive along it. Now the road has been cleared. True, there were stones and all sorts of barricades left.

Therefore, traffic was difficult in some places. On the way to Copacabana, we stopped at the Kon-Tiki Museum - a place where the family lives, who helped make boats for Thor Heyerdahl for his expeditions. We looked at the boats and drove on.

To get to Copacabana, we crossed Lake Titicaca at its narrowest point by ferry from the town of Sao Paulo to the town of Sao Pedro. Such is the interesting geography. We walked around Copacabana a bit, looked at the local cathedral, walked around the market.

Then we got on a boat and went on a trip around the lake to the Island of the Sun. Upon arrival on the island, the first thing we did was look at the ancient ruins - the residence of the Inca emperor. Then we tasted local products. And after having a snack, we went on a short trek around the island to our hotel.

We checked into a very cozy hotel with a view of the Island of the Moon, where we will go tomorrow, and after a short rest we went for another walk to watch the sunset. Such a busy day it turned out to be.

 Hello everyone from Bolivia! A group called "Zvyaginshtein's Adventures" arrived here at dawn today. Finding ourselves at an altitude of 4,000 meters, which is how high the La Paz airport is located, we decided that the best acclimatization is active. Therefore, immediately after a short rest, we went on an excursion to get to know this wonderful city.

We began our acquaintance with the Moon Valley. These are amazing natural formations, the result of erosion, reminiscent of the surface of the Moon. We walked among the bizarre stone towers, in places decorated with sun-dried cacti.

From the Moon Valley, we teleported to the city center. A local means of transport - a telerifica or cable car in our language - helped us do this. There are 9 cable car lines above La Paz, connected to each other like metro stations. And like the metro lines in Moscow, each cable car line has its own color.

Moving through the air, we looked at the city from above. From here you can see how the houses are located, clinging to the mountain slopes.

Our excursion was a little overshadowed by the fact that there are currently mass protests in Bolivia. The central square of La Paz was cordoned off by the police. So we did not go there. We walked along the oldest and very narrow street of the city. We went to the museum of musical instruments, where after viewing the exhibition, everyone could show their talent by playing the instrument they liked. Then we walked through the witches' market. We studied the assortment of miraculous potions for all diseases in the world.

We finished the excursion by looking at what fruits and vegetables are sold at a regular market.

After that, we decided that we had acclimatized enough, and returned to the hotel to rest.
