Here our final program of this season on Ararat has begun. The whole group is assembled and the first stage of acquaintance has already been completed. A very interesting team has been assembled, each participant has his own story. For example, one participant with a very symbolic name Ararat decided to climb the cherished peak for the first time and dedicate the ascent to his grandfather.

The majority follow the spirit of adventure, and someone decided to climb five five-thousanders, in order to then move to a new level and go along the six-thousanders. We were glad to meet everyone and promised each other that we would do everything possible to take the next joint photo already at the top.

Hello to everyone from the southern slopes of Elbrus from the cheerful Brazilian group Grade 6!

Today we climbed to an altitude of 3900 meters to our refuge. But of course, we did not stop there. After we settled into cozy VIP houses, we went to training snow classes. For classes, we climbed to an altitude of 4100 meters, where we got acquainted with crampons and learned how to put them on, learned how to use an ice axe so as not to cut anyone with it, but to cut (arrest) yourself on a snow slope.

Everyone liked the part of the class when we slide down a snow slope, practicing self-arrest, the most. After lunch, we continued the classes. We learned how to put on harnesses and refasten ourselves on fixed ropes.

This concludes the technical part of the preparation. Tomorrow we will go to new heights to prepare our bodies for the summit of Elbrus.

Guides Olga Rumyantseva and Leuan Atabiev.

President of the 7 Summits Club company Alexander Abramov:

An incredible event in the History of Mountaineering has happened. For the first time in the History of mankind!  The 7 Summits Club project "Hungry Elbrus" ended with an amazing result. 14 participants and 3 guides spent 5 days of fasting in the Elbrus region and all 17 "hungry climbers" successfully ascended to the summit of the highest mountain in Europe - Elbrus. And they ascended at a very good pace.

This event can claim a World Record. All participants noted that both acclimatization and the ascent itself were easier than with a usual "well-fed" ascent. This is probably a new era in Mountaineering.

During the experiment, all participants drank only water and tea with honey or jam. But several participants drank only water. The process was observed by Doctor Myasnikov, who at 72 years old also climbed Elbrus hungry.

All the members lost at least 3.5 kg in 5 days. Alexander Abramov and Artem Gurshteyn lost the most. 7 kilograms each. The reason for this was that Artem drank only clean water.

And Abramov, probably because he led the expedition and spent nervous energy.

Participant Pavel Persidsky climbed on the 8th day of fasting, since before the project he had not eaten for 3 days.

Before the assault, I was very worried about the result. Suddenly someone would lose consciousness, but everyone was very cheerful and all 100% of the project participants climbed to the top of Elbrus hungry!!!

During the expedition, four cameramen and a director filmed its progress. Expect the release of the film "Hungry Elbrus" in about 2 months!
