The 7 Summits Club guide Olya Rumyantseva reports from Mexico:
Greetings from Mexico from the "Promising Optimists" group! This morning, we reached our base camp at 4,200 meters. We immediately took an acclimatization hike along the slopes of Orizaba to 4,750 meters. Afterwards, we descended and were able to truly appreciate the comfort of our camp. Large tents, delicious food, a gas heater in the dining room, and satellite internet.
Tomorrow we move to the summit camp and begin the ascent the following night.
