Day 1
Arrival at Mount Haggen. Accommodation at the lodge. In the evening, meeting with a local guide to discuss the details of the trek and ascent to Giluve Volcano.
Day 2
Early breakfast. Departure to Giluva. Trekking to Giluwe volcano through alpine meadows and dense rainforests. Arrival at the base camp, overnight in tents. Meals - breakfast, snack, dinner
Day 3
Climbing the Giluve volcano and returning to the base camp. Meals - breakfast, snack, dinner
Day 4
Return to Mount Haggen. Overnight at the lodge. In case of an early descent, it is possible to organize excursions on site for an extra charge. (acquaintance with the local flora, fauna and culture). Meals - breakfast, snack, dinner
Day 5
Departure for the excursion program in the morning. Acquaintance with several local tribes. Return to the lodge. Night at the lodge.
Day 6
Continuation of the excursion program. Acquaintance with the life of the aborigines. Folk dances. Cooking a traditional dish - a pig baked in banana leaves. Visiting schools, villages, markets. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7
Airport transfer. Departure to Port Moresby. Meals - breakfast.

PAYMENT POLICY
A deposit of $1,000 is due at time of registration to reserve a space on the expedition.
A full payment is due 60 days prior to the expedition start date.

CANCELATION POLICY
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made less than 60 days prior to the scheduled date.

Why go there?

Giluwe volcano (Mt.Giluwe) - 4368 meters above sea level, the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania. It is the second largest mountain after Mount Wilhelma (4509 m.) In Papua New Guinea. Located in the province of Satern Highlands. It is a shield volcano covered with vast alpine meadows. The solidified lava forms two peaks, of which the central peak - 4368 m, the eastern peak about 2 km and reaches an altitude of 4300 m. Giluwe is the highest volcano in Australia and Oceania. The track goes through various forest arels. You will be able to see wildlife of all kinds-bird of paradise, possums, kangaroos. 

 

Tips for guides and service personnel (important information!)

You trust the guides with your life and health, and most importanty, your time and money. And they take upon themselves all these worries and responsibility for you and for the success of the event 24 hours a day for the entire trip. Guides and service personnel on the trip expect from you a tip of 10-20 dollars per client for each day of work. If you liked everything, you remained safe and sound, you can pay them more! All tips can be given to the Chief Guide and he himself will distribute them among all employees. Don't forget to thank the guides and stafff before leaving. And you will see their happy and grateful eyes!
