Seven volcanoes and Mount Vinson twice....
On Thursday, November, 23, in cafe the Exit Point, our company announced our new project « seven volcanos ». It is the program of ascents on the highest volcanos of all continents. Within the nearest years, we plan to lead expeditions to the summits missing in our list: Orizaba, Ojos del Salado, Sidley, Damavend and Ìàuna Kea. Besides public had an opportunity to tell "good-bye" to our captain, Alexander Abramov who on Monday departs to Antarctica and South America. He departs almost for two months. With reports on holding trips Natalia Bashkirova and Lyudmila Korobeshko have acted, and Vadim Uspensky has very beautifully told about features of travel to New Guinea.
In this season we spend 2 expeditions to Antarctica. The first group:
Vladimir Aristarhov, Igor Pohvalin, Karo Ovasepian, John Christiana, Alexander Abramov (leader) take off on Patriot Hills (Antarctica) from Punta Arenas on December, 3. To the middle of December the group plans to return in Punta Arenas after an Mount Vinson climb.
The second group: Dmitry Mohnachev, Nadejda Voskresenskaya, Igor Fomin,
Nadejda Zelenina, Vyacheslav Pashkov (he goes second time), Alexander Abramov (the permanent leader) are going to appear on the White Continent December, 29. There they will meet New Year, in the Vinson base camp. They plan a summit climb in the first days of New Year. We shall wait messages from expedition and to publish them on our sites.
