SEVEN VOLCANOES

The Seven Volcanic Summits are the highest volcanoes on each of the seven continents, representing a unique mountaineering challenge similar to the Seven Summits.

These volcanic summits are a fascinating blend of geological wonder and climbing challenge, offering adventurers a chance to explore diverse landscapes across the globe.

1. Ojos del Salado

Location: Chile-Argentina border, South America
Height: 6,893 meters (22,615 feet)
Highlight: The tallest volcano in the world and the second-highest peak in the Andes.

2. Mount Kilimanjaro

Location: Tanzania, Africa
Height: 5,895 meters (19,341 feet)
Highlight: The highest point in Africa, known for its three volcanic cones (Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira) and diverse ecosystems.

3. Mount Elbrus

Location: Russia, Europe
Height: 5,642 meters (18,510 feet)
Highlight: The highest peak in Europe, often regarded as a dormant stratovolcano.

4. Mount Giluwe

Location: Papua New Guinea, Oceania
Height: 4,368 meters (14,331 feet)
Highlight: The highest volcano in Oceania and an ancient shield volcano.

5. Mount Damavand

Location: Iran, Asia
Height: 5,671 meters (18,606 feet)
Highlight: The tallest volcano in Asia and a prominent feature of Persian culture and mythology.

6. Mount Sidley

Location: Antarctica
Height: 4,285 meters (14,058 feet)
Highlight: A massive and remote volcano, part of the Executive Committee Range in Antarctica.

7. Pico de Orizaba (Citlaltépetl)

Location: Mexico, North America
Height: 5,636 meters (18,491 feet)
Highlight: The highest volcano in North America and Mexico’s tallest peak.
