On this day, we were accompanied by beautiful weather.  After high-quality morning exercises (thanks to the guide Evgeny Fedyunin) and breakfast, we went on an excursion to the abandoned village of Gamsutl. A wonderful path led us to the ruins of a once large settlement. For lunch we moved to the modern village of Choh. Then we visited the observation point, from which the artist Aivazovsky painted the famous panorama. And a visit to the Saltinsky Waterfall. Local canyoning was quite a worthy end of the day. Thanks to our Dagestan partners, the organizers of the tour! Thanks to all the participants!

Saturday, October 7th. A message from Nepal: "Today the Nepalese have a day off, thanks to this, we were able to leave Kathmandu for the Rolwaling Valley at the 8th hour without traffic jams. 7.5 hours of traffic on roads of different quality (repairs are underway), and we reached the settlement of Chhyothkhyot at an altitude of 1410 m. We are staying here tonight for the night, then we will have a trek. Very comfortable in temperature (after KTM) place, with beautiful views. We met only one trekking peak expedition in this location."

Alexey Lonchinsky (owner of Piolet D'Or) and Yuri Koshelenko (also owner of Piolet D'Or) today go to the high-altitude zone of the Himalayan Mountains to make a record ascent. The two are planning to make the first ascent to the top of the Rolwaling Kang along the technically complex Southeastern buttress.  At the moment, no one has been on this summit at all. In 2015, a Japanese expedition attempted to climb, but in the end the team ascended to the neighboring peak. The buttress is the most attractive in a technical sense, it is beautiful and logical. Alexey and Yuri received a permit and started trekking in the direction of the base camp on the Drolombao glacier.

This is the second joint ascent of Alexey and Yuri. In 2017, the two made an ascent to Fangi Peak (6538m), for which they were nominated for the Golden Ice Axe of Russia award.

The expedition is supported by the Vento Company.

Starting in June, the expedition of the 7 Summits Club to K2 ended in early August.  The conditions for climbing corresponded to the image of the "most inaccessible" and dangerous mountain in the World. We did not wait for any stable weather window, but in general we successfully coped with our task.

On July 27, 2023, sisters Maria Oglobleva and Ekaterina Safronova, Dmitry Moskalev and high-altitude operator Vladimir Kotlyar climbed to the top of K2.

On July 28, Lyudmila Korobeshko, Daniil Briman, Valery Tebiev and Arno Ter-Saakov (Armenia – Latvia – Monaco), as well as cameraman Luis Lopez Soriano (Spain) reached the summit.

A total of 8 participants, 2 high-altitude operators and 10 Sherpas ascended the summit of K2 from the expedition of the 7 Summits Club and the 8000 Club. There are 20 people under the leadership of Lyudmila Korobeshko. The ascent took place in bad weather, with a poor condition of the route. The more honorable the victory!

During this expedition, a film was shot, which later became known as "The High Altitude Gene 2. The Mountain of all mountains".   We are waiting for the release of a new masterpiece from RD Studio. In the meantime, watch the trailer!

The guide of the 7 Summits Club Ratmir Mukhametzyanov reports from Kazakhstan:

We have run out of training camps in Tuyuk-Su, the members of the NP-2 group have completed their program!  We made 4 ascents from 1B to 3A of the difficulty category. The participants of the gathering studied and practiced, walked and climbed, jumared and dulfered. There were a lot of lectures, practical classes, evening gatherings, after climbing, they did an analysis of mistakes.

The cherry on the cake was climbing the route 3A of the difficulty category with an instructor as a leader, so that students could observe the work of a professional on the wall from the side. Although before that they climbed, collected stations, oriented themselves and interacted with each other independently.  We have learned a lot, but there is still a long way to improve.

I was very happy to work with such motivated students!

Super-guide of the 7 Summits Club Olga Rumyantseva reports from Tanzania:

Greetings to all from Tanzania from the Zvyaginstein Adventures group! This morning we made a climb up the Baranko wall - a march with light climbing elements. After climbing the wall, we continued our way to the Karanga camp (4035m). Unfortunately, we were covered by a cloud, so our way passed without any views.

In the camp, the cloud never left. Therefore, we spent the rest of the day mentally preparing for tomorrow's climbing to the assault camp and for the summit, hiding from the drizzling rain.
